If you are looking to bulk up, you need to include good carbs and fats too. I think if you did 1 to 1.5 g of protein/lb of body weight, you would be fine. You may want to try some online sources like www.bodybuilding.com to get good ratios and macronutrient quantities.

My wife is how you say a 'gifted' woman and she always found the Victoria Secret line to work really well for her.

By not logging the little things, how are people suppose to make big changes? The smallest steps help to make the largest strides. Using that logic of not adding in the small aspects of exercise would be like not adding in condiments into my diary because they aren't 'real' calories since as one tablespoon of ketchup isn't…

Hummus (keeps well in a cooler and you can freeze it without ill-effects to the hummus) Salsa (some may have an issue with the sodium, but still low cal) Special K Cracker Chips (great salty/crunch snack and pretty low cal; cheddar is the best IMO) Buffalo Chicken dip (4 chicken breasts, one bottle of Franks Red Hot…

Some online sources to try are www.bodybuilding.com or www.dpsnutrition.com. I use both and never had any problems ordering and getting exactly what I like. The first one has been more helpful because it has more customer reviews and based upon my experience, most seem to be truthful because I have a similar good or bad…

ON is a good product if you want a great, almost pure protien source. You don't necessarily need a blender, but I recommend a shaker cup to mix any protein powder because nothing is worse than hitting a clump in an otherwise smooth drink. Some protien powders have caused me to have an upset stomach. I prefer Muscle Milk…

Never heard of the first one you mention, but any omega-3 pill should suffice, I get NOW because they are affordable and can be ordered easisly online. The folic acid, b vitamins, and D3 can all be had in basically any multi-vitamin. I use GNC vitamin packs (I get them at Sams because they are cheaper there) because I like…

If you are craving McDonalds, just go do some research on the 'nutritional value' of that burger you are going to eat rather than the vitamins, minerals, etc. that will come from your healthier lunch. Usually the knowledge of what I am about to put in my body when I am having a craving helps me find a healthier option. For…

I second this, you can add it to oatmeal too, it makes it very thick or they make it in pill form as well, which is what I take.

Try Propel Zero. I buy the packets and keep re-filling my water bottle and adding in a packet. Not too sweet, but it's better than regular water when I want my drink to taste like something.

Coming from a guy, I love to see a girl hitting the bench, using the squat rack, or using the free weights. What that says to me is that she's done her homework (i.e., knows the benefits of the basic lifts, etc.), knows what she need to do, and is doing it. There is a husband and wife that work out at my gym the same time…

You may want to try www.bodybuilding.com. Don't let the name discourage you from looking, they have incredible workout plans and ideas for working. My wife was a bit tentative at first because she thought she would bulk up, but it's not the case and she's been enjoying it ever since.

Could be your shoes if you feel wobbly and might be worth consulting a shoe expert. I know it sounds wierd, but most nicer shoes stores that cater to runners offer this service for free and may be able to steer you how to change your running style to make it the most efficient. The 'heavy' sound you hear is probably the…

Muscle Milk and Muscle Milk Light have incredible flavors IMO; however, there is a little more fat and some complex carbs than pure whey protein that needs to be taken into account but I think it makes the product work better than just whey protein..

0.1 lbs/day translates into about 0.7 lb/week, which is a good, healthy weight loss method. Maybe you are weighing yourself too many times per week and getting discouraged with seeing daily fluctuations. I only weigh myself once per week or once every other week at the same time, such as I always weigh myself on Saturdays…

Not eating after exercise may not be the best thing because you need to take in good carbs and protein to help build/maintain the muscle you just worked and to help burn more calories. I'm sure any 24-hr period that you define as your "day" will work fine as long as your are consistent about it.

Speaking as a guy who told his wife the same thing when she felt a little uneasy about going in the free weight room with the guys, don't feel uneasy about it. You pay your gym membership just as they do, so you have every right to use every piece of equipment in there as much as they do. Mix it up a little, the variety…

These get me through any rough cardio session: Egypt Central - "Over and Under", "Locked and Caged", "White Rabbit", and "You Make Me Sick". I use "Over and Under" to finish up when I want to spring for about 2 1/2 minutes to finish. Godsmack - Basically anything from the album "Awake" Run DMC - "It's Tricky" Better than…
