  • had the same sort of thing at first but more for the weight loss than the gym,,, but then again i dont do the gym. What about getting a treadmill or other cardio machine for home and spend some of that time at home exercising than just at the gym? cuts down on gas and time to get to and from the gym too.... just a thought
  • lol, dude you have over 150 lbs lost. obviously what you are doing is working and likely those giving you grief haven't lost a fraction of what you have. I have about 2-3 servings, 1-1.5 cups of frozen yogurt or ice cream pretty well daily too.
  • ive only started to run outside and i agree completely however there are still lots of times i can run on my treadmill when i cant go outside either because the kids are sleeping or its well below zero.
  • no you dont, see here http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning-0?page=single
  • nope, you burn more by running per mile as well as per minute. Your body motions are exaggerated when running and the effort to rebound and spring is greater. again old school thinking was that it was the same and admittedly its not a huge difference but you definitely burn more running than walking for the same distance…
  • intervals for sure can help kickin tunes with a good beat on a play list that you can put on random i just installed fitradio, its free for a while, its pretty good too. have a good motivation, a new goal for speed or distance, what ever and work towards it.
  • if your waffles suck you need practice making waffles, if the other waffles suck, find some that dont suck
  • i eat less to lose weight and to improve my health i exercise to feel better and to improve my health I eat more when i exercise mainly because i can and i like to eat lol but i dont exercise just to get to eat more. oh yeah i did some research in the walking burn vs running and the old school was that they were the same…
  • you cant spot reduce but you can help tone. I lost weight last year and had the spare tire, roll, muffin top, what ever you want to call it. i put some weight back on and took another run at it this year. i now weigh about the same as i did at my lowest with the exception that this year i have been doing exercises that…
  • its up to you and there are varying view points on this but to me 1200 cal seems low in almost all circumstances. 200g is approximately 0.5lb and thats not a bad rate. i aim for much higher too but many say 0.5 is good you didnt put the weight on in a week and its not going to come off in one either. keep you head up and…

  • big glasses of water, if you havent eaten supper or have the room have a slice of pizza, its not that bad, just limit it to what your remaining calories are. failing that dill pickles and hot peppers, low to no cal and can help make you feel full
  • that will be awesome too. when i started there was no way i would have been able to do it, in time you will be able to too, slow small increases :)
  • absolutely, and you will be there sooner than you think :) if you arent already you may want to give intervals a try, take a minute and bump up tp your goal speed, then back down to your current speed, once you recover do it again.
  • right on... whats your pace now?
  • feels awesome doesn't it. personally id go for faster, burn more in less time :) i started out aiming for 5 k in 30 min, it seemed to take for ever to hit that. Then kept bumping it .1 or .2 for a few minutes here and there.. before i knew it i was doing 6.5 mph, then 7 its awesome. the upside is if i want to go further…
  • http://connect.garmin.com/activity/280069115 its not a race but its the first time i have run with anyone. Friend has a gps watch and tracked this on a cross country run. Hardly epic but i really enjoyed it
  • yes its possible. Its likely a combination of water and weight. keep at it and try not to get discouraged if it slows down
  • so train and run some race distances alone until she feel sconfident that she wont be last.... not that being last matters, being out there and running does. But if its a big hurdle for her then she can train until she gets a decent time that would put her in the average group and then go for it
  • forget the creamer.. what about the stir stick... ewwwwwwwwww
  • personally i think it didnt stick, and the reason a lot of "diets" dont stick, is because (at least the ones i have tried over the years) you have to think about them, you have to think about them alot. with this yes you have to enter data in the app, but it does a lot fo the calcs for you. Really all i do is look at the…
  • and all of this too. i dont do the cheat day now like i used to as i hit a point where i found it being counter productive but for the first few years every week i had cheat days where i didnt worry too much about what went in. I never pictured myself as a runner even when i was younger and at a similar weight to now but i…
  • yeah me too.. i was worried if they were around i may go back to them if a put a few pounds on,,,, ive been pretty meticulous about getting rid of clothes as soon as they get a bit to big just so if a put a few pounds back on the clothes are uncomfortable and i have to try harder lol
  • lol thats what i was doing but this one blew out before i got to that stage lol.
  • calories in vs calories out... myself sort of in my head before mfp and now on here. I try to eat healthy but dont try to hit any pre determined levels of any thing in the way of carbs/protien etc or in the way of macros or even servings of food groups. I have tried other diets in the past, i am sure they work if you stick…
  • or nothing to gain.. i mean really.. if life really is all about the hokey pokey i'm putting wayyyyyy to much effort in lol
  • What if the hokey pokey REALY is what its all about !?!?
  • Thats the spirt! 1-2 a week, 4-8 a month, 50-100 per year..... 100 would rock but even 50 lbs.. you wont believe how much better you are going to feel :)
  • awesome. your on the way :)
