Slacked a bit for recording on here... Sept 12: 6 mile run Sept 16: 7 miles on elliptical.... Reached my goal! Next goal is to log another 50.

Forgot to record yesterday's run, 5 mile HIIT run!
-
Only 2 miles on an elliptical today. Not as much as I would have liked, but better than nothing!

Agreed! I watch what I eat pretty carefully though, it's taken about a year and a half but I've finally come up with a way of eating that keeps me satisfied but on track. It's just a matter of trial and error; do lots of research and try new things and you'll quickly learn what does and doesn't work!

Welcome! Taking that first step towards making changes can be so hard, so congratulations! :D Feel free to add me if you ever have any questions or need some support

3 mile run this morning and 1 mile up and down stairs tonight. Apparently I could have aimed for a higher goal lol, half way and I'm not even done the first week. 50 seemed so ambitious, it's amazing the things you learn when you actually keep track of stuff! Lol

Welcome back! As mentioned above, don't dwell on the past, learn from your mistakes, and move forward. You can do this! It's important to remember that change can be uncomfortable, but it won't kill you! Feel free to add me if you like :)

I'd say that in terms of how much I eat compared to what I used to eat, I eat waaay more now. My body needs the fuel! But in terms of WHAT I eat, I cut probably 50% of the foods I used to eat from my diet and replaced them with healthier, nutrient-packed items.

I'm with you! 12 hour work days leave little time for life! By the time I've worked out and got my meals ready for the day it's time to go to work. :( I've had to make some sacrifices to reach my goals and sometimes it definitely sucks but for the most part it's worth it. Now the sweet tooth...THAT is another story. I try…

Count me in! This is my first challenge and I'm aiming for 50 miles. It will mostly be running, but also with a bit of biking and probably elliptical as well. Now to figure out how to make one of those tickers....

Congratulations! What an inspiring story, you look fantastic!

I agree with what everyone else said; Vancouver is such a great and active city!! Love renting bikes and riding the seawall, the grouse grind, TONS of yoga classes all over the city..I love it! Feel free to add me if you like :)

Sending friend request now :) I've reached my goal weight, basically just working on toning, keeping my daily exercises interesting, and now working towards a half marathon!

I bought those too! It's called a Misto and I LOVE it! You get more oil spread out but you use less. I think it was around $20; see if you can get someone to go halfers with you since they come in two-packs :)

I agree with what the others said about eliminating the processed food. You look like you're on the right track though! If you're looking for a non-dairy soy alternative I would suggest almond milk; Silk makes a great unsweetened version that I LOVE. It's great for drinking, cereal, baking, etc. Also I would recommend…

I love running! Just started getting serious about it in March. I'm training for a half marathon right now; my goal is to finish! Lol, at about an 8:30 mile right now, working towards 8:15. Sending request now :)

Couldn't have said it better myself kaxfenix. Change is uncomfortable and sometimes you just have to suck it up!! Aim to spend three days committed to eating properly and avoiding the junk. Break your meals up into multiple small ones so you don't get too hungry throughout the day. Spend at least 30 minutes a day…

How long have you been on this routine for? Sometimes when you start getting back into exercise and a healthy diet the scale doesn't reflect the physical changes you feel. This can be due to a number of reasons: you're taking in more water, to keep yourself hydrated (which is good!) you're eating more (which is also good…

Oatmeal topped with grilled peaches and Greek yogurt; like Quaker peaches 'n cream but waaay better and way better for you :)

I always keep Larabars or Kashi bars and a little bag of homemade trail mix in my purse. I also like having Ryvita crackers with almond butter, hard boiled eggs, or fruit and veggies on hand for snacks as well. I'm out of the house 12 hours a day 6 days a week because of work so I understand the need for healthy snacks! I…

Is it just cheese you're trying to avoid or dairy all together? Nonfat greek yogurt is high in calcium and protein; for my breakfast today I let some homemade muesli and chia seeds sit in greek yogurt for 30 minutes then added in some fruit and a little bit of almond milk. Balanced and delicious and it worked out to 347…

I do cardio 5 days a week, weight train 3 days a week, and yoga once a week. I agree with what others say about overtraining; your body will tell you! I skipped my rest day last week because I was feeling great and yesterday I just felt drained and anxious. So I skipped the workout today and took a walk to the grocery…

I LOVE Vega!! I've had the sport performance bars and electrolyte infuser for waters and I love both. I also highly recommend VegaOne :)

I like to eat nonfat plain greek yogurt; it has less sugar than regular yogurt and lots more protein so it's good and filling! I also like how rich and creamy it is. I know you're looking to replace yogurt, but this might be a good option for you! I have a wicked sweet tooth, and I find that a chopped apple in yogurt does…

Kale and goat cheese stuffed baked sweet potatoes! Microwave the potato for 5-7 mins until it's soft, cut it in half and scoop out & mash the inside, mix chopped kale and goat cheese with mash, then re-stuff the potato and bake it for 15 minutes!
