Once it's done, it's done. No sense in feeling guilty about it. Just let it go. Like others said, tomorrow is a new day, another chance to start over. I would add, however, that you don't have to wait till tomorrow to start over. You can start over NOW. Don't, however, use this as a reason to say to yourself "Since I ate…

I don't get a refund. I'd rather send a check in at the end of the year. (RANT) I don't believe in a government enforced interest free savings account. From the government's standpoint, it's my money until I owe it to them. They (the government) for the most part don't believe that I am capable of intelligently managing my…

Depending on how much over I go, it will usually take 2 to 3 days. Have comfort in the fact that it's not 'REAL" weight gain, but gain due to water retention. 1000 mg over will probably take you two days to flush out.

Prayer (the Serenity prayer helps keep me calm and balanced), listening to and singing along with music (Gospel and CCM), and reflection on all the good that God has done in my life (the last one really brings a smile to my lips).

Yes, it's certainly okay to go over protein and fiber. Protein is especially important for building and repairing muscle after you work out. Glad to see you're back at it. Let me know if I can be of any help! Oh, and if you ever look at some of the protein bars out there, I can definitely say that I like the Zone bars. All…

I don't know about other people and what worked for them, but here's what has worked for me: 1. eat BALANCED meals. If you want to go over on anything, protein and fiber is okay. Fat is a necessary part of good nutrition. 2. eat less than you burn, but you need to make sure you get SOMETHING in you each day. DON'T skip…

I LOVE THIS^^^ I LOVE red meat also. Given that I am 53, I think I have beaten the odds! However, I am almost ALWAYS happy and upbeat, and I DID hear a report on the radio that "Happy people have a 15% lower risk of dying." (I kid you not!)

I came on here for my last 11 lbs. I like the food / exercise tracking, but I wish the search function for foods extended to what foods I have used, rather than having to search the database or go back through my foods. I really like the support system here, and the accountability thing is pretty good too.

Bowling (in a league, 184, 192, 187) and walking three (two very large, one normal sized) Airedale Terriers several times a day! My wife and I share the dog walking duties, so on any given day, one of us has two, and the other has one, but nevertheless, they all get the same walk.

I love that one too, but here's mine: "It doesn't matter who I used to be, it only matters that I've been set free..."

I'm not really a tea conniseur, more like a tea common sewer ... so ... it's Lipton for me, plain ol' orange pekoe/pekoe black tea in a big box with lots of bags in it... I tried some of the "designer" teas (as I call them ) like the sleepy-time relaxing tea, but I didn't like the way it made me feel, so I don't use it…

I personally like the Hellmann's Light Mayonnaise, for "most" applications. It's fine for me on sandwiches, etc., but it doesn't do quite well in my slaw dressing.

That is so super sweet. I read that to my wife (We're both on here) and she said the same thing. You two have a very blessed, loving, and wonderful relationship. It's no wonderful that you have PEACE and JOY along with that LOVE. Your children apparently have great role models. May God continue to bless you!

I LOVE that! It's a wonderful testament of LOVE when those around you recognize your transformation and tell you how proud they are of you! I had one of those moments a few months back when my daughter told me how proud she was of me before she went back to Florida. Cherish that memory, and know that God is smiling on both…

I would say that you are eating too little. I saw one day where you had a 700 net calorie day. I was a non-believer in the (not enough) category, and that's what brought me to MFP. My wife suggested that I start logging to see what my calorie intake was. I was pretty sure that I would gain weight if I started taking in…

Bill, what time of the day do you eat your last meal? And what time of day do you weigh in? You're not tracking water, and I also see that you're not tracking sodium. You might want to put them on there, at least for a week or so. I see some things that COULD be high sodium foods on your diary, and THIS may account for…

Whether you are feeling discouraged or good about your progress, I think it is a great idea to periodically re-read the sections of your profile where you outlined the reasons you want to get in shape, and your inspirations. Doing this will help to re-invigorate you with determination to see this journey through. If you…

There has been alot of advice given on here, some helpful, some not so helpful. I'll toss my two cents in here, which may help or may not. Hopefully, it will. I can see both your point of view and your husband's. I have been in support groups where the people got no support from family/home, and it DOES make it extremely…

I didn't go back but about 5 days, and I see a significant trend ... Your protein intake is routinely HALF of your goals, while you are typically AT or OVER on carbs and sugars. You need to get more protein in your diet. If you want to go over on something in your diet, make it fiber or protein. Keep sodium, fat, carbs,…

Ahi tuna is a good source. Cook it like you would a steak. ounce for ounce, it's higher in protein than sirloin, and lower in fat. 12 oz Ahi tuna steak provides: 360 Cal 80 g protein 130 mg sodium 150 mg cholesterol 3 g fat/0g saturated fat 40 mg calcium. AND it tastes YUMMY!!!!

I don't know what your spiritual background is, but if you have one, have you thought about asking God for help in your effort to get healthy? Ask Him to help you be strong against temptation. I know the cycle of self-sabotage all too well, and one thing I found was that it was manifest in all areas of my life, from work…
