When I was a 16/18 I could generally still find stuff in department stores too (like Macys and Dillards). Not the cheapest option, but there's still a lot of sales going on.

I think it's all for show, of course. But, that being said, if I get her body, I'll let her yell at me.

Cookies. Okay, maybe not if you're trying to lose weight, but there's a seriously good chocolate srirachia cookie recipe floating around on the internet.. http://www.olivesfordinner.com/2012/01/chocolate-sriracha-shortbread-cookies.html My roommates and I thought they were unique and delicious!

I lost a significant amount of weight (relatively quickly, but I haven't gained it back) by following Eat to Live for awhile which is a vegan and mostly low-carb plan. I have been debating going back to it, when I'm back at my own place. There's tons of good recipes and meal ideas in there. Just remember your B12. I've…

I'm 5'1, large frame, and this is great to see. Thanks! Gives me some clue as to how my journey might pan out! You look smokin' :D

I am not creative with titles, but this... it better happen. :D

It's a great app. I'm sad that I've finished all the missions they have so far, ends with a cliff hanger!

Just did Day 5 lvl 1 today, I kind of feel my motivating waining already, but honestly it takes me 30 minutes, I just need to suck it up for 5 days until level 2.

Someone please pass the popcorn. This is the most entertained I've been on MFP yet.

I also like this calculator: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm Less math, and exercise level is relatively well defined. The results are very similar to those in IPOARM, as well as the spreadsheet floating around here.

I'm pretty sure she was referring to being "Skinny-fat."

A new wardrobe at the end? xD If I had more money, I'd do thinks like haircuts, manicures, new jewelry or shoes (which I could wear at any weight!), massage... etc. When I reach my goal weight, I think I might get a tattoo. My name means "bird" in japanese, so I might get a bird, or a tattoo with both Arabic and Hebrew…

I agree with everyone that has said if the binges only started after you joined MFP you might have re-evaluate your goals.

Well the deficit comes in that you need a lot more than 1500 calories period. I'm willing to bet your BMR is at least that. Now, whether you buy into eating your BMR or not is one thing, but I guarantee if you eat your exercise calories back you're still at a deficit.

I third C25k. I think it's a great starting point for beginning runners. Also, make sure you're not going to fast, and that you're wearing good shoes!

Great job! Keep getting better! And on a treadmill a 1.0 incline best represents running in "real conditions." So that's right. ;)

A HRM is the most accurate way to measure that, but in leiu of that I've heard to put "circuit training" on MFP.

I don't go to the gym, I run/walk outside (I'm in Florida currently, so no nasty weather, I go out in shorts and short sleeves). I have noticed a lot more people out and about, but it's obviously not really bothersome as there's plenty of open air for all of us!

i just started the shred a few days ago (I just did day 4 today). I'm not out-of-shape, but I'm not in-shape either. I was running 2.5-3 miles before starting. However, it's more toning/muscle building focused, and it kicks my butt every time. However, I think there's enough modifications that almost everyone could do it…

5'11 male consuming less than 2000 calories don't sound right. I feel like your BMR should be at least that.
-
Even if I'm not great at math, I see the problem here, and it's definitely convinced me that I've perhaps made the right choice upping my calories above my BMR (who knew MFP was so wrong), and to start doing more strength training. Keeping in mind BF is pretty important. I'm pretty overweight now, but my Body Fat is in a…

That roadmap. I'm 5'1-2 Before I was consuming 1200-1500 calories a day (eating back exercise calories). I stalled at that. I have now upped my calories to 1700 (which is conservative given the roadmap) and I'm hoping to see a change.

I'll get there when I get there, but I'd really love to be 1-2 sizes smaller by this summer, especially if I'm gonna' be working at a camp! Kids/Teenagers can be cruel! (I'm a size 12 now, I'd like to be an 8-10 or less).
-
People started noticing at about 7-10 pounds for me. I dropped a pants size in approximately 10 pounds. I'm pretty short though!
-
I think you're confusing BMR with TDEE. TDEE takes into account daily activity level, you should be eating a deficet of this. Your BMR is the calories your body burns just by being alive, you will burn more than this if you can stand up and walk to the fridge essentially. :) But, chances are you're more active than just…

How tall are you? 1200 is probably way too few calories. MFP's tools aren't very smart with this thing. Also, with 50-60 pounds I think most people, including myself will recommend about 1.5lbs a week weightloss. 2 lbs is usually if you have 75+ to lose! And MANY people reach their goals. There is no secret here on MFP.…

Ouch! where are all the calories coming from in that? Peanut sauce, slaw, and teriyaki aren't great, but that sounds like a lot of chicken!
-
I think the OP was saying they've been on a 5 week plateau excluding the .5 pounds they lost last week.
-
This isn't a matter of him simply not wanting to join the OP, this is downright mean. Period. There's a difference between "being supportive" but separate, and being downright unsupportive. You need to do you own thing OP, and no worry about what he says, but I'd certainly be angry if my significant other did this to me…

If you're a firm believer that you can not measure everything that goes into your mouth, may I recommend "Eat to LIve." You're supposed to eat 1 pound of raw veggies, 1 pound cooked veggies, 3-4 servings of fruits, and 1 fat a day. Most people don't manage to eat all that food. Also, no salt, no starchy veggies (if you're…
