I usually do it every morning, M-F in the locker room at the gym after my workout. I just use it for trending. I will usually only count one a week as official. I have to be a little obseeded becasue my weight/bodyfat can impact if I keep my job.

Make sure all information is input to the HRM. That can effect the calculations.

For me it depends on the exercise. Some times MFP is higher, some times it is lower. I just go with HRM. My rate of losing has increased since I started using the HRM.

Go for the combo. Get the Bowflex treadclimber. We bought one in August and I LOVE it. It kicks my butt. When we first got it I was doing an hour on an elliptical with the resistance at 12. I have heard that some who lose a lot of weight are actually shorter becasue there was actually boby on thier head and feet. There was an actor who lost close to 300lbs I think and he said he was 2 inches shorter.

I find that the HRM says I burned more on some exercises and less on others that the machine or MFP. So I think it is a pretty accurate number. I feel like I have been losing more consistantly since I got my HRM then I was before I got it. (Only had about 1 1/2 months.) Just my $.02
