Isagenix shakes. What a waste of money. To its credit I sure did lose weight that month but I learned zero things about portion control and staying in a calorie deficit. Once I couldn't afford the overpriced shakes, I began gaining weight and three years later here I am again at my highest weight. Tried the master cleanse…

This and the fact that periods =/= fertility. Lots of women have their monthly menses and are not, in fact, fertile.

Hi! I had a c section a little under 10 months ago :) I've lost 17 pounds since February so far with 59 to go. I weigh my food (everything, including ketchup and every last peanut) in grams on a food scale to accurately count the calories that I eat. I work out 3-5x per week and try to keep active on my feet on the days I…

This sounds amazing! OP, I like leftovers from the previous night's dinner. Steak turns into a big honking steak salad, chicken and whatever veggie side (I loooove roasted broccoli or green beans, or boiled carrots with a bit of dill), sometimes I make a pot of chili or pulled pork and eat that a couple times

OP, this is a very thought-provoking question. I think I have been in "mourning" as you coin it, this whole time, wishing I could eat as much as I wanted without needing to weigh every.last.drop of every.last.food. I suppose I will battle the desire to overeat for the rest of my life, but as long as I need to lose weight I…

I'm still in the process of training my mind to not want to keep eating. When I am actually hungry, usually around meal times, I am very good at eating my planned, weighed portions but when it comes to bored/social/treat eating, I have a lot of trouble making myself stop. So to answer your questions, no, 100 calories/1…

This...this broke my heart. All your hard work. And that delicious cake without even asking if someone wanted it?? I would have cried.

I assumed he was at the beginning of losing weight-probably I shouldn't have done so. I agree with your point that learning to live with these types of food is important, but I also believe in setting yourself up for success. If he needs to get the ball rolling for a few weeks or something then I don't think it's…

Changing where you put snacks is not hand holding. Nobody suggested for her to stop buying them, or none that I saw. He's not asking her to meal plan for him or anything ridiculous like that. It sounds like (and I agree that we don't know much about the situation) that he is having trouble seeing all the stuff. She's not…

This is exactly where I am at. Personally I have a hard time controlling my temptations around certain things (chocolate chip cookies here too!). I simply asked my husband to hide his cookies from me when he buys them because they are a weakness for me and I needed his support. He said ok. No big deal. He could have easily…

Thanks for apologizing; I truly appreciate it. I'm not the forum police so don't let me keep you away!

Assuming you meant to quote the other girl? Yeah she had no idea if I already had kids or wanted kids or couldn't or whatever the situation. Only that I have pcos. I just...what? Aside from the general "what??!!" I'm no fertility expert but I'm pretty sure for some pcos women, it's not as simple as "just go low carb!!11!!"

...um what? You're right, this is completely unrelated. I don't know why you would make such a grand assumption about my family planning, but I can assure you that if I need to "discuss anything" it will be with my doctor.

I was coming to say this. If you are breastfeeding (even part-time as you said), you need to make sure you are at least hitting your calorie target for the day. Or else your body typically stops making enough milk. I had to eat at a huge surplus to keep my milk supply up, and ended up with a 25lb gain when I stopped…

This. Andplusalso, I used Isagenix a few years ago, lost weight, blah blah. Guess what happened when I stopped buying Isagenix? Gained weight. Because it taught me zero things about lifestyle changes, a healthy eating plan for my body type (PCOs/hypothyroid), and portion control. All I learned was this: drink two shakes a…

Hiya. I'm in the same boat-started at 236 after I had my son and have always struggled with my weight. We can do this! I don't have any advice but I will say this: Nothing is impossible, and even though the horizon seems very far away, the little steps you take now will turn into big steps, and those will turn into bigger…

oh god I'm over here cackling to myself and woke the baby up. THANKS A LOT PALEO.

This is great! *stealing*

To avoid exercising: "If I lift weights, I will get big muscles and I don't want to look big" *eyeroll*

Cutting too many calories can lead to supply issues. I just weaned my 6 month old and cutting calories has certainly helped my supply decrease. You can manually add 500 calories onto your total in I think the goals section. That was easier for me to see than logging 500 calories burned every day. Eta: not nursing is…

My husband and I are going to be adopting an Australian Cattle Dog in a little under 2 months :)

Yes, it is possible. After hitting puberty, I was always one of the "bigger" girls in my class. I graduated college at 210 lbs - a tight 18 on me. I tried every magic pill I could find, "natural" ones, and none of them worked. I tried taking walks, lifting a little but I just didn't know what to do. It took hiring a…

You made me smile :) Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this.

Is there a "Lazy Tapeworm Support Group"? I think I need to join. Mine just binges on all the bad dessert grains and sugars I feed it and it doesn't make me lose weight faster.

I have a 28" waist and 41" hips, A-lines are my best friends and what I had for my wedding dress. Empire waists are great too. When they started selling swimsuits in separates, I think I danced a jig

I went to the website...and within a 30-second skim I saw a calorie tracking section, where it has bmi calculators and the like so I'm not sure this person actually knows what's on the site haha. That being said, I remember learning about the food pyramid too and the government has changed its mind so much since then, I…

Good advice. This is what I had to do when we got our first cat. She picked it up pretty quickly

Pet peeves: When girls dumb themselves down so boys will like them. Just be yourself!! Phobias: No true phobias but I am not fond of spiders and the dark Oddities: I can't touch velvet, gives me the willies. Libraries and the produce section at the grocery store make me want to pass gas

This sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing! :flowerforyou:

If you are worried about sugar substitutes, use something made from stevia or monkfruit, although some people say it has a weird aftertaste (I'm weird, can't taste the difference between coke and pepsi so it doesn't bother me). If you are looking for something that isn't splenda, I would recommend the stevia. I think it's…
