I'd log it. But I also log when I go on vigorous house cleaning kicks where I scrub and polish and lift and carry things for hours at a time without a break. My theory is if it makes you sweaty, out of breath and sore the next day, you should probably log it as it's got to have burned some calories.

I agree. The lightweight mesh gym shoes most people wear to the gym really don't provide any protection whatsoever from a falling dumbbell. But the sandals seem stupid for the reason that you are not firm on the ground in sandals, you have to do more work to keep them on your foot. If you want to weight-lift or run on a…

Looks fairly awesome! I'll have to try it out. Does anyone know if there are off days? The ad said every day for 90 days, but I thought it was kind of bad for your muscles to be pushed every day, that you were supposed to have one to two rest days a week for your muscles to recover.

I know I'd tried looking for strength training under cardio before and didn't find it, but thanks to heybales I tried again and found some! Yay! jacksonpt- it's not that I'm strength training to lose weight, I'm strength training to become stronger. The problem is that I am usually STARVING when I'm done with it, more so…

I actually don't have an HRM. I've been wanting to get a FitBit, but it hasn't been in the budget lately. I guess the answer is basically to try not to eat over my calories on the days I weight train. It sure does make me hungry, though!

Wow, I didn't know it was so hard to calculate calories burned doing strength training. So I guess my follow up question is, since it's so hard to pin down, how do YOU guys track your calorie intake on days you strength train? Do you eat over your calories under the assumption that you must have burned SOME calories or is…

I've only had two periods since I started my new life style. I am on the pill specifically so that my cycle regulates (I used to be all over the map and with the worst cramps), so that probably makes a difference. The first period was normal. The more recent one started a day earlier than my calendar said it should have…

Grapes or strawberries has been doing a lot to curb my sweet cravings. But when I was at the grocery store this week, I went looking for some frozen yogurt for after dinner treats and came across a product called Arctic Zero. I'd never heard of it before, but it's only got 150 calories in the whole pint, it's gluten free,…

I suck at math, but I use a 1600ml filtered Camelbak water bottle and I try to drink 3-4 of those during the work day and 2 in the evening. I definitely notice when I don't, my stomach goes bonkers on me pain-wise and I am much less regular and also slugglish and prone to migraines. I struggle with it on the weekends when…

This is one of my all time favorite dishes. Super filling, tastes great both hot and cold, and it's only 190 calories per serving. I'm going to try and copy and paste from my recipes page: Mahatma - Jasmine Rice, 1 cup prepared 213 48 0 0 0 0 Athenos - Traditional Crumbled Feta Cheese, 3/4 cup (34g) 270 6 0 12 1,200 3…

I myself only have coffee, a tbs of chia seeds and either a bowl of instant oatmeal or a small greek yogurt or banana for breakfast, but then I tend o have a 10am snack, a 12:30 lunch, and often times a 3pm snack and then dinner. I have always heard to eat a larger more balanced breakfast, but for me the thought of food in…

Chia seeds.

Thanks! I thought I'd tried that already and only saw fat as a whole, but I was wrong. Now I only wish I could add more lines for tracking. ;)

MinaAriel - I would love to add more milk and cheese. I am lactose intolerant. I can usually handle Almond milk and solid cheeses in moderation but more triggers a bad stomach day. Though, since I started taking chia seeds I've noticed less of a sensitivity (I'm even able to have greek yogurt for breakfast occasionally! I…

I LOVE avocado, but unfortunately the grocery stores are out to get me and never have ripe ones. When I buy them still not ripe, I will forget I to check on them in a few days and when I do they'll have gone bad. Someone needs to get those avocados in line and then I'd happily eat them every day. A protein shake at night?…

So some I should go over and some I should go under? What about protein and carbs?
-
Again, bump. Does anyone know the answer to this?
-
Bump. I'm really hoping someone can answer this.

I started a thread for this same topic earlier in the week. I haven't even been logging any exercise and I am frequently under 1000 calories, but I'm just not hungry. I feel like I'm eating a lot at my meals, but it is all healthy and low calories (lots of veggies with a moderation of carbs and protein). Basically by…

AlabasterVerv- can you do that? I didn't think you could count a week at a time, I didn't think they "rolled over", so to speak. I will look into adding calories to what I'm already eating, I'm just trying not to make them sugars or fried as that's a slippery slope for me. I seem to be doing better avoiding it altogether…

I've found that if I have a tablespoon of chia seeds in the morning (I eat them either by themselves or mixed in a glass of water), I often don't get hungry until lunch time.
