I respectfully agree with leanjo. Understanding as much as I could about my metabolism took away most of the guessing, wishing, and praying aspect of losing weight.

Whoosh fairies are cute. I ate about 25,000 calories from Thanksgiving through Sunday and I've lost 5lbs since the day before Thanksgiving. I'm not at 195lbs my lowest weight since I was 11.
-
I'm up the day after and then my weight drops at 48 hours on.
-
So very true. I tell people to see it like a checkbook that you balance monthly.

This is exactly how I lost over 100lbs in 11 months and another 30lbs the past 12 years. Why would I ever stop? I do NOT call it a binge though, because I am 100% in control of allowing myself to go crazy

Thank you, everyone! It sounds very shallow I know, but being fit and attractive was something I always wanted. Growing up overweight and "gross". I only got attention when the "cool guys" needed someone to laugh at. Then I'd see the "cool guys" walk off with the pretty girls and I wonder what it felt like to be them? Then…

 I needed that. Thank you!

So I'm not the only one  I thought maybe I was too obsessed. Now if I grew breast, then I'd be staring and rubbing all day long. I don't mean manboobs, I had them and they were not the same.
-
 I honestly hadn't noticed that before. Which is strange because when they started "popping" I'd take a peek every time I walked past a mirror  Heck, I still check on them quite often. Just to make sure they are still there and safe

About 5 years ago I flipped my daily diet upside down and ate the majority of my calories and carbohydrates in the evening. Before that time I had lost 100lbs and had kept it off for 7 years but I was struggling a bit because I was still believing the myths of eating 6 small meals and eating less at night. Both of those…

I eat about 75% of my daily calories after 8pm and typically go to bed around 11pm. It truly doesn't matter when or how often you eat.

I believe from experience, that the faster your results the more difficult it is to maintain them. For me, I don't see the point of losing weight to just gain it back again. That's not success in my book. This is of course for the average overweight person like myself who's looking to make a lifelong transformation.

Exer Many people still think exercise is key to losing weight.
-
Exactly, the stress and guilt does far more damage than the extra calories. Think about your diet plan this way, Can I do what I am doing right now for the rest of my life? Be honest with yourself. If the answer is NO, then you need to stop right now and create a new plan. Believe me, you can eat any type of food and still…

Very-Very true. This is one reason why I don't recommend cardio for losing weight. Typically two things happen after doing cardio. First is we tend to be more hungry and either fight that or eat back what you burned or more. Mentally we have the "we earned it mentality" and completely forget the fact that it's much easier…

There is no doubt in my mind that CICO is the ultimate deciding factor when it comes to losing weight. The issue with CICO and the reason why I personally used to struggle with my weight is I focused on calories in and exercise and ignored the most important part of the CO side of the equation, basal metabolic rate. BMR is…

Calling foods "good", "bad", "health" or "junk" IMO is a big mistake as well as "earning" treats. Again my opinion only and this may be great for you. The reason I feel this way is I've learned the importance of creating a positive relationship with all kinds of food. Having control because I "choose to" and not "have to"…
-
You will

For the record, every type of diet pill is the *kitten* I'm referring too.

As much as we want to talk about the "good old days" and an EC and aspirin stack, the truth is it will help you lose weight about as much as an ice bath or a 15-minute walk. I'm not trying to be disrespectful but do people still confuse metabolism with energy? Like many of you, I used to buy pure ephedrine at my gas…

There's a strong chance that a few of the 12lbs you lost early on was water weight and now some of that water came back. If you can average 2lbs lost per week you are doing amazing.

I have two answers. 1st. I grew overweight and I always dreamt of being fit and wanted to have girls think I was attractive versus a gross fat blob. 2nd. After giving up and accepting the "fact" that I was born to be fat since I could never maintain my weight loss and my entire family was obese, I found myself determined…

That's pretty much much what I do. I know I can overeat a few days and be just fine for maintenance. However to lose weight I had to keep it to one day a week. I'm very curious as to others do it?
-
Awesome! I personally struggle with the "you can't have just one mentality" How do you stop yourself from overeating once "pandora's box" is open?
-
Exactly, but I find it so easy to stick to my calorie goal after high-calorie days. I have less cravings after having what I want and it's easy to put what you're craving off a few more days until the next one.

I say bring it on! It's a great time to take a break and enjoy the free food. I break the whole Thanksgiving weekend and then Christmas Eve through New Years. I expect to gain 5-10lbs but I know from experience that I lose all of it by the end of January. No head games or guilt, simply enjoy life.

Cool news! Thought Catalog published my article on their site today! I'm shocked because they get around 15 million visits a day and one of my favorite authors, Ryan Holliday who wrote "Ego is the Enemy" & "The Obstacle is the Way" is a regular contributor there. tcat.tc/2d3udfm

It's definitely BS. For the past 6 years, I typically eat the majority of my daily calories after 7pm. Since I've always been a night-time eater this allows me to eat the way I naturally want to and has made staying lean even easier than before.

Here's my personal best with the before gut. I'm thinking about setting the goal to get back to being ripped but I'm also pretty lazy

Not my best and a bit too hairy but I do like showing my abs.
