  • 5 ft 6 inches, 145 lbs - size 6 or 8, depending on the brand/cut.
  • My HRM says I burn slighty less than the elliptical (but my elliptical has a HRM built in). It is usually off by 30 to 80 calories per workout. I attribute much of this to the fact that I was 30+ pounds heavier when I programed my elliptical for my settings and cannot modify the settings. That being said - when I work out…
  • I eat veggies often for lunch Sauteed zucchini sprinkled with Mrs. Dash Chicken Grill seasoning with a slice of low sodium swiss on a wrap or light english muffin is delicious. You can also steam cauliflower and throw it in a food processor with some skim milk, a little butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper and make…

  • Mine also swell sometimes when I do cardio - especially if it is really hot. From: Bronson Athletic Club - Personal Training Q: Why do my hands swell when I do cardio? A: According to Mayoclinic.com: Hand swelling during exercise is a fairly common problem. Unfortunately, the cause isn't so clear. It may be due to an…

  • This is an article from DaveyWaveyFitness.com Protein helps build muscle - but what happens if you get too much of it? Not getting enough protein is one of the reasons why a muscle building workout isn’t building muscle. Getting your required protein intake is crucial – but what happens if you take too much? Protein isn’t…
  • Many Chinese Restaurants offer (diet) steamed dishes with no sauce. You could get steamed chicken or shrimp with vegetables and brown rice and use a tablespoon of sauce from another dish (garlic sauce perhaps) to just season it a little. The Chinese Cabbage / Vinegar Slaw is good too.
  • Practice. The more you do it, the easier it will become. Give it a few months.
  • My husband uses it because he eats many of the same things as I do and he is not inclined to spend the time to search each food - or especially to recreate my recipes (because we can't share). I do the research and log it properly and then he just asks how many calories and adds it to his diary. It is a quicker way for him…
  • I'm usually double the MFP recommendations - I'm on a low sodium diet which means a great deal of my diet is fruit and dairy - which are both high in sugar. I don't track the sugar - it is impossible. I've only seen one person who was consistantly under on his sugar - but his diet was extremely BORING. I couldn't eat like…

  • Just workout hard the rest of the week and forget about it... It is okay to go over once in a while.
  • Yoga or a punching bag, maybe alternate between the two...
  • Luna bars (yummy nutrition bars), Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal, dry roasted edamame, almonds, dried fruit, snack packs of fresh fruit in 100% juice, high fiber whole grain bread, almond butter, Polaner All Fruit w/fiber, cans of low sodium V-8, bottles of water, boxes of milk...
  • I love Luna Bars (they are very tasty nutrition bars for women) - they travel well and are filling. Also, dry roasted edamame is a great source of protein. Kashi Go Lean Crunch is good for protein and fiber.
  • I also watch my sodium - and try to keep it at 1600 or less per day. Most days I succeed. Eating out completely destroys this most of the time. I use assorted varieties of Mrs. Dash to season my vegetables and meats. I've pretty much given up eating canned foods (except 1/2 cup of baked beans with my hot dogs - which is a…
  • Most days for breakfast I eat a Thomas Light Multigrain English Muffin with Polaner All Fruit (I keep various flavors so I can switch it up). Sometimes I use whipped butter, other times I use Almond Butter. I usually have a cup of tea or coffee. i haven't gotten bored. Lately I've added a piece of fruit or Chobani Greek…
  • Greek yogurt, sliced cucumbers, and Clif Bars (I eat a Luna bar most everyday). Wasabi edamame, Snyders of Hanover Eat Smart Veggie Sticks and air popped popcorn (seasoned with Smart Balance Spray and Mrs. Dash Table Blend).
  • You may think you are getting enough fiber, but from your diary you are not. You should be consuming 25 to 30 grams per day. You are at 10 to 15 grams. Up your fiber.
  • You can feel free to add me... I'm 44. Edging toward my ultimate goal, but this site has been wonderful for me. I've lost 31 pounsd since Feburary 1, 2012 My diary is open. I eat junk daily, but try to fit it into my calorie allowances. I'm only 6 pounds from my 2nd revised goal. I'm in the size I'd like to be, but I'd…
  • Pilates and Yoga that focus on your core will build / define your abdominal muscles. Keep losing and they will eventually show through.
  • I've grilled it, baked it, and pan fried it. Just baked it recently with a white wine and lemon sauce - it was fantastic. I've grilled it with Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle and used it for fish tacos. I've pan fried it and topped it with a mustard cream sauce. It is versatile.
  • I like greek yogurt - I usually buy Chobani 0% fat or Fage 0% fat. Really high in protein and pretty versatile. You can use it as a substitute for sour cream or eat it sweetened - with fruit or honey. Also, I love cottage cheese. Nice because they both contain calcium which is beneficial.
  • You need more fiber in your diet. MFP recommendations are too low. You should be consuming 25 to 30 each day. You are about 15 most days. Try increasing your fiber and drink plenty of fluids. You should hopefully see a difference soon.
  • I like strong arms, big strong hands and kind eyes... Everything else is open for discussion.
  • I cut it, scrape out the seeds and loose fibers and place cut side down in pyrex dish add an inch of water and microwave for about 15 minutes. Remove fibers (spaghetti strands) with a fork.
