Way to go Mel & Kikalique! :flowerforyou: Here's mine: SW: 162.5 LW: 157 CW: 155.5 ChW/UGW: 145 Off to shovel yet more snow. :grumble: I'll be counting the calories burned!

I'm still ahead of my plan, but I can't really say I'm on track. I had a huge loss the first week, and since then, haven't made much progress. Totally behavioral on my part - a lot of travel SNAFUs for work due all to this LOVELY winter weather makes me grumpy, which then has me seeking out comfort food. My good days and…

Skittles - that's outstanding on the measurements!!

One, the consensus on the boards seems to be that you should eat back at least some portion of your workout calories, so as long as you're staying within your net target, boosting a little probably wouldn't hurt anything. Two, given the increase in your workouts, you're undoubtedly building some muscle, so you may go up a…

Not to totally change topic from the weather, but...I am. Last night, was out at dinner and found a skinny margarita that was actually good! Normally, the skinny ones are either way watered down, or have a really odd taste. This tasted like a real 'rita. Texas Roadhouse - 200 calories. The bartender recommended…

I'm wearing a new pair of "thin" pants that I just bought on New Year's Eve day, and am finding today that I wish I had a belt for them - they keep sliding down.

Welcome aboard!!

This ^ !!! This journey is challenging enough without some of the attitudes that people exhibit on the boards. I love that this group understands that everyone is different - physically, mentally, and emotionally, and that what is fantastic for one just may not work for another.

Put on some upbeat music and dance the way you NEVER would in public. Or crank the tunes and do your housecleaning literally as fast as you can - you get a 2 for 1 win that way! Also check out your public library for workout DVDs.

Up a bit this week - I knew I'd lost too much too fast the previous week. SW: 162.5 CW: 157 Challenge & UGW: 145

I have a great LBD (little black dress) that still has the tags on it. I bought it back when I was this weight four years ago, with the idea that when I lost the next 5 pounds, it would fit perfectly, and instead, I regained almost everything. Four+ years to lose 5 lbs... :grumble: But THIS time, it will happen!

I've never even heard of it. What's the premise?

Steak, Chipotle carnitas, Diet Coke, mushrooms, and rum.

Great stuff this week, folks! Mods - maybe this would be a good thread to make a "sticky" one, so it stays up at the top? I think the more NSVs we post, the more everyone will recognize the various ways they are improving their health and fitness and stay more motivated.

I second what Mel said - more water, less salt. Caffeine can act as a diuretic, but just heard on NPR today about some research that's showing it only works that way if you're not normally a caffeine drinker. If you normally suck down coffee or caffeinated soda, your body's already adjusted.

I've got three main workouts. First, a once a week power yoga class. Dripping sweat and sore in body parts I didn't even know I HAD, every week. (Love it!) Second, my standard hotel or home workout - what I call circuit training: warm up for five minutes on the treadmill or elliptical, then alternate upper body lifts or ab…

Wow - great week Chickidee! Both scale and non-scale victories. Way to go!

I weigh every morning that I'm home, which is normally Friday through Monday. If my weight is stable, I know I may be up or down within about a three pound range, so a little gain doesn't bother me day to day, but two or three little gains in a row flag me to refocus my efforts.

SW: 162.5 CW: 155 GW: 145 Okay, so yes, 7.5 lbs. lost this week. No, that's not typical or even remotely likely for me. It's also TOTALLY unfair for all of you who were diligent about staying under your calorie goals and working out most days, and then didn't see much movement on the scale. I really feel kind of guilty…

Wait, you want Illinois people with a Packers pix?! I don't think so!

I don't do traditional cheat days either. There are times when I know I'm going to go way over calories, and I try to plan for it/make up for it through the week so my weekly totals still come out reasonable. There have been times when either due to my own attitude or because its a meal/event where it's just going to be…

I think of that louder inner voice as my inner child, and when I'm too tired, too hungry, or too stressed, she turns into a real brat. Sometimes it helps me to ask myself if I would give in to a whiny three year old on whatever I'm trying to justify. If the answer is "No!" It helps me to regain control. Great job on going…

Shoulders. Ok, I know, sounds weird, but between the lifting and the power yoga over the last year, plus the weight loss, I have actual muscle definition now. Seeing my deltoids distinct from my biceps makes me smile, even when I'm annoyed with the lower 3/4s of my anatomy.

Tonight was going out for Indian with my colleagues - shrimp saagwala, but I probably should have paid a little more attention to how much naan I was munching.

Is your office small enough that you can be honest with the aunties and enlist their support? Or, if you know what you'll hear back from them is, "Oh honey, YOU don't need to lose weight!" then maybe you have to resort to the "doctor's orders" white lie with a sad little smile. If you can't turn it completely down, either…

Go Fodao! Wishing you well on your reboot! For me, I had gained weight gradually over the years, and then yo-yo'd down and back up a couple of times. The last time before MFP, I had just been diagnosed as borderline diabetic, and formed a weight loss group at work. I dropped 25 lbs., but then started creeping back up when…

Guilt! Elimination = obsession for me, so I don't cut anything out completely. I will, however, try to avoid pizza most of the time. I can eat half a medium pizza in a sitting, and I'm never going to exercise enough in a day to net out those calories. I'll probably scale back on the alcohol, too.

Just found this group and liking the vibe. I, too, weighed in on Sunday. SW: 162.5 GW: 150 UGW: 140-145

I've got two: one is to get to goal weight. Second is to dig my bike out of the back of the garage and start riding again.

Yes! "Clink, clink" Seriously, also an addict. Part of it's the caffeine hit, since I can't stand coffee or tea. I'm down to about three per day, and usually make myself drink 16 oz. of water between each can of DC. When I really make it a focus, I can eliminate all but the first can in the morning, but I never cut out…
