GBrady said everything I was going to! The only thing I'd add is making sure you have plenty of water available in the car, as well. I know I can go a lot longer without snacking if I have something to sip, and that way you'll be less tempted by the smell of fries or cookies when all you meant to stop for was a Diet Coke.

Major victory today. I was griping that I had the munchies but was trying to stay away from the vending machines, when my oh-so-helpful colleague mentioned that the new ice cream machine was goofed up and you could buy ice cream bars for 10 or 20 cents, instead of the normal $2-4. You can imagine the resulting stampede!…

Quite a good week for many - nice job! GBrady - a huge congrats to you!! A fantastic achievement! :flowerforyou: CoolChick - just a small setback on a successful journey. Don't let it drag you down. Sunday was my binge day (my birthday at the fantastic Sunday champagne brunch restaurant) and this week will continue to be a…

Another break even week for me, but since it should have been a gain by any calculation, I'll take it and run! SW: 162.5 LWW/CW: 152 CGW/UGW: 145

Way to go, Skittles! That energy boost is fantastic when you feel it. :flowerforyou: My NSV this week was that I hauled my carcass out of bed to accomplish my usual T/W/Th 5 a.m. workout routines despite the horribleness of adjusting to the time change.:grumble: Tuesday morning was so bad that when I got to the hotel gym…

I've been up and down in the same 3 lb range for several weeks now, and I finally realized what's going on: I'm in the "last 10 lbs" zone. It's the sense of, "I'm so close, this won't be hard," so I eat over calories by a little more than usual, or more often. I'm so happy about the progress that I've made that I just…

Welcome back!

SW: 162.5 CW: 152 (half lb loss from last week) CGW/UGW: 145 Everyone's posted such good stuff, but I'll have to add comments when not trying to type on the treadmill.

When I'm in front of the mirror in the morning in the altogether, I think I look great, because I still envision myself 35 lbs ago. But when I catch a glimpse of just one part, that flap of upper arm or the pooch in the gut, it feels like I have so much further to go.

I'm totally up for a 60 day! I won't say I won't hit my goal in this one, but it's definitely looking kind of sporty at this point.

SO...DONE...WITH...WINTER!!! The snow is annoying, but I can cope with that. It's the sub-zero temps on February 28th that are breaking my spirit. By now, I'm usually seeing my crocuses poking through, but not this year! Coming up on a big transition at work that has my stress levels up, but so far doing pretty well with…

Hang in there, ladies! Don't let the emotions (hormonally induced or otherwise) drive your actions. You can do this and get through this! Mel - get well soon! I'm pleased with my week. Only a small loss, but that means I was still very successful in navigating two major food events is week. (That said, I'm going to be well…

Dropping a size is always FABULOUS! Congrats!

Lots of good progress, including a few breaking through their usual plateau numbers, which is huge! What was really great to see is that the people that are up a little all have a good idea why, and what they're going to do about it. Fantastic!

Halfway? Really?! It's been a quick trip! Much happier with this week than last - I recovered from last weekend's major splurge, and then some. SW: 162.5 LWW: 157.5 CW: 153 (new low, finally! ) CGW/UGW: 145 My goal for this week is to better manage my eating for a couple big events coming up. I've got a…

I love "zombie" as a verb - I'm going to start using that!

Oops - forgot to check in this past week. Okay, I also forgot to track food, stay anywhere close to my calorie goal, and exercise most days, so I'm 'fessing up. :embarassed: It was my husband's birthday and the kids were on a retreat for the weekend, so it was a big "don't have to set a good example" couple of days.…

Hang in there, Hope! Do what you can with the exercise, but let your body heal. Sometimes the scale is just slow to catch up to the effort. (Stupid scale!!) You CAN do this!

I'm voting all three. I don't think is weekend was great for just about anybody, but when multiple factors gang up on you , it can definitely be disheartening. Don't let it suck you into negative self-talk, or worse, negative action. Get lots of water and some good sleep, and then have at the recovery plan!

Thanks for posting - I knew some of these, but seeing the comparisons really drives the point home. When I'm not on the road, I try to use my food scale as much as possible, so I have a mental image of sizes when I'm traveling and have to guesstimate.
-
Lhinds - fear not, you haven't broken all 10 of the commandments! If you're trying to lose weight quickly for an event, this morning will feel like a failure; if you're in this for the long haul lifestyle change, you need to just think of this as a learning opportunity - what can you take away from this that will change…

I need to get more sleep, and do a better job of planning weekend meals. I know when I get overtired, I'm much more likely to rationalize poor choices - fries instead of steamed veggies, that extra glass of wine... I travel for work during the week, so I have a routine down, and only have to worry about myself. On the…

So far everyone's dropping at least a little, and some quite a bit, so good work! SW: 162.5 CW: 155 (I was at 154 yesterday, drank my water, stayed under calories, got some exercise and a good sleep, and yet...:grumble: ) CGW/UGW: 145

The lounge at my hotel puts out cookies and other desserts each evening, and I normally stay the heck away from it, but had to go up there to grab a fork this evening. Tonight, they had this amazing-looking lemon pudding cake, and I'm a total addict for lemon desserts. Instead of saying, "The hell with it!" and scarfing a…

This week has been a bit of a struggle calorie goal-wise. Work has been nuts this week, so too often by the time I get to eat dinner, I'm failing the HALT test. (If you're too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired, you're more likely to overeat or make bad food choices.) I'm doing okay on exercise though, so that's a bright…

Saw lots of new additions on one of the other threads here, which is great. Just wanted to add my welcome to those who are just joining us!

I'm not a cyclist in any real way, but I am a RABID TDF fan! Can I get partial credit?

My original challenge goal was 10 lbs., but then my first week went REALLY well, so I adjusted my goal to be 10 lbs. from that new weight (which also takes me to my UGW). If you're nursing, I'd say aim for 1/2 to 1 lb./week. When I had been nursing, I never had an issue dropping the pounds - my problem came once I stopped…

Jenabee - Hugs to you. We will miss you, and look forward to "seeing" you whenever you make it back. Here's hoping your journey brings you to a place of peace and joy! :flowerforyou: Pam
