How are your measurements doing? I know sometimes when I'm working out a lot and building muscle my weight won't change, but the measuring tape (and my clothes) show a difference.

You look fantastic! Congratulations. Why don't you maintain for now and see how you feel in a few months? Maybe focus on something else, like a great fitness goal or other life goal?

These sound great -- I'm going to have to try them!

I love the recipes from Now Eat This cookbook -- comfort food favs made in non-fatting ways (under 350 cals) by one of the folks who works with the Biggest Loser show. In addition to lower calories, he also adds in nutrition, lowers sugar, uses more whole wheat & veges... He works magic with greek yogurt, cornstarch and…

I've been treating MFP/FitBit as a game -- when I make my calorie/fitness goals I win! If I don't meet my goals the calorie/fitness gremlins win. So far, knowing the evil gremlins might win has got me up off the couch or out of the pantry when I was tempted. It feels good to have the opportunity to win every day -- it's…

Absolutely -- I've found the scale makes a huge difference. My husband and I ate out last night and it was killing me not to have a scale. We tried to see if there was an app for our phones (turns out, there's not one that works reliably). I know the portion size to weight visual cues (a pack of cards, fist, pair of…

I have a Tanita and love it. It's the one that also (supposedly) measures body fat. The weight seems to be very accurate & consistent. I'm not sure how accurate the body-fat measure is, but I figure if it keeps going down that's good.

Good idea -- we're planning a cruise for fall (which should be when I hit my goal weight). I am going to put some other rewards in the middle, I'll have to think about what they should be. Of course, I'll also need to buy new clothes when I hit my goal weight, so that'll be a big reward.

I make mini meatloafs (in a muffin tin, so they cook really quickly). The version below is modified slightly to lower the calories from a Rachel Ray recipe (original here - http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/meatloaf-muffins-with-barbecue-sauce-recipe/index.html). We love these, they work great for lunches and…

This is exactly why I love MFP & FitBit - it makes weight loss into a game! Every time I enter food into my diary or exercise instead of sitting around -- I'm scoring points. I love the opportunity to "win" every day when I beat my calorie and fitness targets. Knowing I might miss my calorie target (and the evil calories…
