I was told the same thing. Only count the fiber if its 5 or more. I just went for my pre pump appt and we talked about this in detail. Net carbs is the total amount of digestable carbs, if u hv more fiber its harder To digest so ur body works harder to digest it, which requires less insulin. That is how I understand it…

Did ur Dr tell u to keep decreasing every couple of days if its still low? That's what my Dr has me do until I'm in a better range. He has me back 3 units every two days until better. I'm fixing to switch to pump so I won't be on lantus much longer.

I test before each major meal, and usually after, and at bedtime. So 5-8 times a day. I'm bout to get my pump on Monday so I will test even more often. They sd i will hv to wake up to test for awhile. I've had it 12/13 yrs and my fingers look bad too! ;-)

yes i plan to ask my endo. I also have PCOS. but i'm also a type one diabetic.

I plan to ask my diabetes doc ( endocrinologist) and then see what she says. I ONLY saw the dietician b/c i had to for my pre pump session ( they are the ones puting the pump on me) so i had to!! thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. After posting this i read some other post. seems to be that the general consenses is that i should eat at least 1200 calories and eat back the calories i burn! Thanks!
