Yeah, I REALLY doubt this. Plus it depends on how long the sessions are, and cal burns are ALWAYS different for everyone. If you are putting in 1100 cals in a zumba burn...then you are probably WAY overestimating your burn unless you did it for like 3 hours and couldn't breathe the whole time. Of course instructors are…

In my understanding, people are sore when they are working muscles you haven't really worked before. Going for a run is pretty much the same muscles as walking, so I would imagine most people aren't sore after a run like they would be when doing something totally out of their routine, like bench presses or pull ups, etc. I…

The best you can do to limit your muscle loss is eat more protein and work out more. MFP's default protein is really low...I read that you should be eating 1 g protein for every kg of your weight (2.2 kgs = 1 lb). This was about 30gs a day higher for me than what MFP set so check your macros.

I would be VERY conservative logging anything without a HRM, ESPECIALLY if it is something you can't really measure (like running where you can measure how far you ran in how much time, and even this can be WAY off). I just did my first Zumba workout yesterday, and I must say I was VERY dissappointed with how much cals I…

:noway: In-freaking-credible!!! What an inspiration!! Thank you and keep it up!! :drinker:

Maybe you should take more time for yourself on a regular basis. I see this alot with mom's...they give EVERY OUNCE they have in an attempt to be a supermom and then have nothing left for themselves. :frown: Definitely take the day off! And maybe, carve out a little time each month/day/week for just you, whether it is…

I bet this is for people who have abnormal heart rates? I have heard some people's are really fast or slow and therefore HRMs miscalculate by alot. If one could manual adjust their zone that might help this....but that sounds really technical, doctor should probably be involved....

There are two types of cheat days: One is where you stay under your goal but eat crappy, unhealthy food. This is just unhealthy, but it doesn't sabatoge your weight loss. The other is where you go over your goal. This can be unhealthy AND sabatoge your weight loss. The whole "shocking your body" stuff is nonsense. Either…

Don't get down on yourself. In my experience it honestly does more bad that good. Yes, you made a mistake. But tomorrow, as cliche as it is to say, is a new day, and you can undo the damage you did. It is devastating when you mess up. But in the grand scheme, it's really not that bad. You have tomorrow, the next day, and…

Polars are pretty much esteemed to be the best. I even heard that the brand invented HRMs, but not sure. All the ones I have seen come with a chest strap. Yes it needs one to monitor your heart accurately. Check out bodytronics.com, they sell them on the cheap and even let you pick colors and size of chest strap.

No idea what you are talking about, I don't think the FT4's have that option. Regardless, your "zone" is supposed to be where you are most effectively burning calories, so it doesn't make sense that there are different zones for different activities.
-
You shouldn't be wearing it for activities that don't get your heart rate in your zone at least. At that point you are pretty much just on BMR burns anyway. (figure out your TDEE, divide it by 24, and you will know how many cals you burn in an hour WITHOUT exercising). Either way, that does seem ridiculously high. :ohwell:

Because I wanted to. Tatoos are so cliche nowadays.

Honestly I don't see much difference because of the size of the pictures, but I think another good guide is how your clothes (pants mostly) fit. Have you gone down a size? Are they looser? Don't get discouraged, your body is changing! Keep it up!

None.

There's a really good youtube video illustrating this idea as well that I found awhile back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozt-V0PPJaw Although it is not more important than the way I look and feel, I will say that the number on the scale IS important to me. I get frustrated when people start encouraging people to "forget…

Yeah it is terrible. MFP is TOTALLY encouraging people to eat less and less per day until they eat no calories at all!! :noway: It's a goal. Get over it.

Whoop whoop that is great!!! Good job realizing you need to take care of you! Keep it up!!

First you need to decide if you want her to move out or just start paying/helping out more. If you want her to move out just tell her you have enjoyed living with her but now since bf has moved in you guys would like the house to yourselves, she has 30 or so days to move out. If you don't want her to leave, I would sit…

Oh yeah, and greek yogurt...but make sure you get something good (like Fage) instead of a sugar bomb (like yoplait, chobani, etc).
-
It took me a good two months (10 lbs) before I could SEE a difference (without clothes on). Even though I had gone down sizes in clothes...it's funny how the mind works. I think I used to THINK I used to look like I do now, which is weird.

That is a HUGE NSV. Congratulations!!! Keep it up!! :drinker:

You look FABULOUS!! It's crazy to me too that you lost that much weight, I'm sure most people would have said looking at you in the first picture that you had nowhere near that much to lose. But you look so lovely and healthy in the second photo, noone can argue with that!! What an inspiration! Great work!

Yep, love steam fresh veggies Eggs (hardboil them) Cheese sticks Fresh fruit/berries (have alot of sugar but not added/processed stuff) Beef jerky (careful with sodium) Nuts (careful with fats)

Might want to check out the groups. There are alot of different kinds, I am sure you will find people with similar goals/demographics. Here are a couple that might interest you: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/685-100-lbs-to-lose http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/1288-100-lb-down Good luck!

It seems low since you are so heavy, but that is certainly possible. 149 heart rate isn't that high, I would trust your HRM. I CAN burn about 100 cals in 10 minutes, but that is keeping my heart rate in the 160s+. But before you go comparing yourself to those people who burn 1100 cals, make sure they have a HRM first.…

Why don't you just look at the posts with stories all throughout this Message Board....

Nice work! It is hard to tell on some of the pics with the clothes/angles, but you can totally see a difference in your face!! Keep up the great work!

I think you are leaning towards lightly active. However, you can always err on the side of caution if it makes you nervous not to. What you can do is set it at sedentary, see how your weight lose goes, and then increase or decrease your cals based on how quickly you are losing (using at least 6 weeks or so as a time…

Thanks for all your support ladies, I'm so glad to hear there are others out there struggling with this. I think you all have hit the nail on the head that people: A) have forgotten what healthy REALLY is/looks like B) aren't interested in being better, are just interested in being "good enough" (or, let's face it, just…
