1250 for my 1 lb a week loss (I am 23 weeks in, and 1 lb from goal!!). I try to get at least 500 cals a week of exercise cals in to eat back as well, but otherwise I am very particular about eating only healthy foods to get all my nutrients in. BTW, if you lifestyle is set to sedentary like most people MFP is set up for…

Just arbitrarily saying that 1200 is to low is idiotic. 1200 goal is common for shorter women who aren't way overweight. :grumble:

It depends on what you want your cut to be: if you have a 1700 (sedentary) TDEE and want to lose 1 lb a week then you need to have a 1200 goal (500 cal a day cut, and 3500 calories in a pound, seven days in a week). Then you can exercise and eat back all your cals and still maintain your cut. If you didn't eat back it…

Brava!! :drinker: You are a gorgeous girl especially now that you don't have all those extra lbs covering you up! Congratulations on your success! Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration to all of us, and keep up the fantastic work! :drinker: :drinker:

Oh my goodness! You are melting into such a stunning woman! Congratulations and keep it up! :drinker:

Excuse me, but I want (and AM now, thanks to MFP!) to be skinny. I want to be fit to. But honestly it is most important to me to be skinny. Statements about how other people should think are ignorant. I know you mean well but get off your soapbox.

Yes, the chest strap is necessary because it monitors your heart. If you want to know how many calories you burn doing your daily activity, use your BMR (Tools>BMR) and multiply it times your activity level (1.2 for sedentary or MOST people). It's an average but it is going to be pretty close. HRMs are for tracking…

Although I know it is frustrating to constantly get berated/questioned for your HEALTHY eating habits (what a world, right? :grumble:), I REALLY don't think the answer to it is lying or avoiding it. I mean yeah it is polite sometimes to just not get into it, but I think it is important for all of us to set an example as…

First of all, this isn't really an appropriate place to post such a question.:indifferent: But: Obviously it depends on the sidutation and the degree, and you didn't give us much detail. Some cases and some guys maybe you are making too much out of it, some cases totally deal breaker. But, I would say you probably already…

Sweet! Kids clothes are so much cheaper too!

^This. One thousand times. Your body decides where it wants to store extra lbs. The ONLY thing you can do is to keep losing fat until it decides to eat into that particular hated storage facility. It doesn't matter what you are eating, or what exercises you are doing, just lose weight and it will eventually come off.

It is extremely hard, darn near impossible to get all the nutritents, protein, vitamins you need with 1000 calories. Not that it can't be done, it's just super difficult and not for beginners. I am assuming your cal intake is so low because you are A) on a very restrictive diet that doesn't let you eat very many things or…

It used to bug me too. But now I just say "thank you , I know I don't NEED to. I WANT to." And move on.

WONDERFUL!! :drinker: One of my first major NSV's was buying myself a pair of real (above the knee) jean shorts, so I know EXACTLY how you feel. And it is so exciting when you have to try a SMALLER size instead of a bigger one. So happy for you!! Keep up the fantastic work and hold on to this feeling!!…

Hooray! How wonderful! Congratulations!:drinker: And how wonderful that you are now a fit momma who can be a great example for and teach her children how to be healthy. Just lovely. Wish you all the best! :flowerforyou:

I usually update when I remember, so every couple lbs. And yes it is going to make it more accurate because the heavier you are the more calories you are "burning" at a given heart rate, so if you are lying to your HRM telling it you are moving around more fat and muscle than you really are it is going to…

Sorry never heard of this before. :ohwell: Probably sun exposure?

It can and WILL happen if you work for it lady. Let it spur you on, not discourage you and you will be there in no time! :drinker:

Good. Then just give it time. Make sure you are eating healthy, unprocessed foods that are calorie sparce like vegetables and whole grains. You want your body to take its time working through digesting them so you full longer. And like kels says make sure you are getting plenty of protein, at least 1 g protein per kg of…

Losing weight is ALL about calories in calories out. Mixing up your exercise routine, and changing what you are eating is NOT going to make a difference to weight loss. It's ALL ABOUT CALORIES. It sounds like you flip around alot with what you are doing. If you get your goal set right, it is going to take weeks to start…

Your body is fine, quite soft but nothing to be embarassed about. But you are fishing fishing FISHING FOR COMPLIMENTS. And THAT disgusts me. :noway: No amount of self esteem can come from other people.

Alot of people "lose" alot of lbs in the first few days/weeks. Most of it has to do with water weight. It is good that you are concerned about losing too quickly, but I would ignore the first two weeks progress and start looking for a trend in the following weeks. If you are losing more than 2 lbs a week at that point, you…

Great work! :drinker: You are SO CLOSE to being in the 100's instead of the 200s! I bet you are excited! Congrats and keep up the great work!
-
It all depends on how high your heart rate gets and stays, which means many calories you burn. Best bet is to get a heart rate monitor if you want to know for sure how many cals you are burning at a particular activity. Average estimators tend to be very inaccurate...

I'm so over the "bacon on everything" fad. Just watch anything on the food channel for 2 minutes and someone will put bacon on SOMETHING.:grumble: Yes, it's really good. No, I don't want to hear about how it goes on everything because IT DOESN'T.:ohwell:

Yes, I did a fresh fruits and veggies only for 7 days fast before I found MFP. I did it for willpower reasons, not to lose weight. It was tough but I learned to appreciate food more and I learned what hunger REALLY is (it's when you DO NOT want to eat something because it doesn't seem appetizing in any way, but you eat it…

Step 1: Leave calories for late night snack (I do about 130 cals worth) and use them Step 2: Decaf tea. Step 3: Brush teeth

Never cut out anything you truely love. The trick is to have a little bit of sweets once in awhile to satisfy your urges so that you don't get too desperate and go whole hog some day and hate yourself later. Make room for yummy snacks once in awhile, I do every other day or so. I love those Jello Chocolate puddings…

I use my HRM for her shred and it works great! If you are doing something for 2 minutes I wouldn't bother even logging, but if you do a bunch of them in a row, go for it! Just recognize you aren't going to get your heart rate up with straight strength exercises.
