Laws SHOULD be in place to protect us from EACH OTHER. Murder = bad, because it HURTS SOMEONE ELSE. Speeding = bad because maybe (stretch!), reckless driving could hurt others. (Which is WHY I take such issue with seatbelt laws. I am NOT hurting anyone else by not wearing one, so BACK the *$(#*#&^) OFF Gov't!!) Anyhow, the…

This whole thing is NOT about what is sexy or how good the women looks, It's about HOW GOOD THE CLOTHES LOOK. The fashion industry is around TO SELL CLOTHES. Period. And clothes look "better" (uninfluenced?) on hangers, or people who look like them, which is ridiculous, but that's the way it is! It has NOTHING to do with…

Buy a ten pound bag of baked potatoes. Stab one with fork vigorously. Stick it in your microwave for 6 minutes. Apply sour cream (pretty low in calories, actually). Enjoy. Honestly, how is that "taking too long?" You want something that cooks in under 6 minutes?!?! You obviuosly didn't grow up in my family, we had potatoes…

"STUMPS?!?! You just thought, let's give them to the homeless, they'll eat ANYTHING." "IF THE HOMELESS DON'T LIKE THEM, THE HOMELESS DON'T HAVE TO EAT THEM."

It partly depends on how accurate your TDEE is, because it should take into your daily acitivity before exercise into acount. AND it mostly depends on how accurate your calorie count for that burned by exercise is. If you have done your research (and/or have a HRM), you SHOULD eat them back. But if you are using stock…

Too Skinny is when you are below your healthy range, just like Too Fat is above your healthy range. Use either BMI or body fat limits. Lots of people like to say "you're getting too skinny" because they are jealous (or ignorant about what healthy is). It's annoying. In between there is all just vanity, and personal…

Being young helps too. Your skin has more elasticity. Just lose it slow and steady and do lots of core exercises. You will be ok, there are lots of success stories to prove it. :) Good luck on your journey!!

Sorry lady, sounds like your BF is discourging your weight loss plan. I would be PISSED at my BF if he knew I was trying to lose weight and he intentionally kept bringing me down...he could get you flowers, not a fatty drink. You should be with someone who helps support you and your goals, not makes them…

I don't like the term "cheat"...I think "splurge" would be a better term. And I define splurges as: eating something soley because it tastes good, not necessarily because it's good for me. I splurge usually one night/day (on the weekends usually) a week, usually with alcohol and sweets. But I ALWAYS track my calories and…

It depends, of course, if it is really EXERCISE or if it is just part of your daily activity. If it is part of your daily activitiy (as in, you climb the stairs one floor every day to work), it should be included in your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure, as in, your lifestyle tiype (sedentary, etc)) and therefore…

ALOT of people do, drinking calories is a significant reason most people are overweight...because people don't really think of liquid calories as real calories (kind of like using a debit card instead of cash to buy things). The biggest problem with it I could see is that not alot of drinks have the nutrients your body…

If you eat them back (and you should), make sure you are not overestimating your caloric burn. I would reccomend getting a Heart Rate Monitor that tracks calories, and/or err on the conservative side. I have a Polar ft4 and I love it, it makes my progress so much more real. :) Found it for $60 at bodytronics.com Good luck!

I'm in the same boat tonight....but I am all out of "fat" calories, need more protein....I am thinking of going for the cheese because it has more protein than peanut butter. *sigh* Never seemed to have this problem before I was counting my calories...I guess I have shrunken my appetite.

Wow, that is incredible!! I have actually heard that sleeping too much (or too little) makes it difficult to lose weight. (7-8 hours is supposed to be the sweet spot). Also, I am curious if you were a bit depressed before....I used to sleep alot when I was depressed. :( Good work getting healthy, It is great that you have…

I'm 5'5". I haven't got to my goal weight YET but I am halfway there. :) I used to weigh as much as 155 prior to MFP. I think it is fine to set a preliminary goal and then once you get there decide where you want to be, so dont' stress. I think 135 (130 so that I have wiggle room) is where I will end up, but we will see!!…

LOVE IT :) If only it worked that way... *sigh* And to the original poster....having to get new (expensive) clothes is the WORST thing about losing weight. But, it's one of the few at least. Keep it up!

I think people frequently talk themselves out of a healthy weight by saying they would look too skinny. If that's what you want to tell yourself, then go for it. But don't pretend it is anything other than what it is: an excuse.

Ooooooh....this reminds me of a funny story..... DON'T RUN HOME IF YOU HAVE HAD TOO MUCH. It can get painful...

I LOVE MY BEER. I live in Montana, and the state has honestly the most micro breweries per capita....not to brag :D I used to drink alot of my calories too....honestly limiting my beer intake was one of the hardest things about losing weight. However, now I don't not do it completly, I just have one or two a week (down…

It totally depends on your Basal Metabolic Rate, and your activity level. Check in "My Home" and "Goals" to see what your new caloric defecit would be (or if there is one) and it should give you a good idea. Whatever you do, you should do it gradually though.
