  • I know for me, my weight gain was mainly due to not eating during the day - but then I would eat a huge, carb-loaded meal late at night...recipe for disaster. I have never been a snacker or a grazer...never. So now that I am eating right for the first time in my life, I am eating constantly (it does feel like that!), but…
  • My husband and I are an eHarmony couple. We will be married 8 years this summer, so I am all for it! Worked for us, and my sister met her husband on a Christian single's site. Good luck!
  • Congratulations! Thank you so much for sharing this - you should be so very proud of yourself! Love it...and it brought me to tears. I am sure your friends and brother were just bursting with pride, too. Great job!!
  • We have two... The first dog was my first "baby" - my husband brought him home on our first Anniversary. He's Harry, a King Charles Cavalier - and he is a cuddle-puppy. He is either at your feet, or right beside you, usually sleeping and snoring. He will be 7 this summer. Then we have Mina, our beautiful, smart, and…
  • Thank you, ladies! It just got a bit overwhelming. I am so ready for this change...I never want to go back to that size again!
  • Awesome NSV! It's those types of things that makes this journey so exciting! Good for you.
  • I had my son at 34 and my daughter 19 1/2 months later, and had no issues getting pregnant. I do not regret waiting at all - and would do it the same way all over again if given the choice. You will know when you're ready...the timing will be perfect. The only advice that I would give you is to do grad school first. I was…
  • Absolutely breathtaking. Please share some more!
  • Got it all of the time growing up. I am 5'11, large frame, always been a big girl - even when I was at my thinnest I got, "You're built like a tank!" comments. In middle school, it was the worst...I was taller than most of the boys, had short hair, and my nick name is Andi - short for Andrea. So, I was told I was a boy,…
  • Amazing NSV - you should be so very proud of yourself. This is exactly the reason why I am committed to getting healthy - I want to be around for my kids for a very long time, so I completely get your emotion - and in fact, I got a little teary reading your post. Congratulations!!
  • Good for you!!! :o) Every pound lost represents victory and should be celebrated!
  • 1) Shredded Wheat 2) Non-fat yogurt 3) Apples 4) Almonds 5) Chicken - grilled 6) Broccoli Slaw with no dressing, used in wraps (my new obsession...sooooooo good!) 7) Eggs 8) Pineapple 9) Green Beans 10) For a dressing - the new Kraft Olive Oil Mayo with cracked pepper.
  • Night owl! ATL. I'm trying to change that, but it looks like that isn't quite happening tonight, as my cat just started foaming at the mouth because she licked her deworming medicine. WTF, cat?! Holy cow! I literally laughed out loud so hard reading this, that I scared my dog! Lol!! So funny! Poor kitty!
  • Major central time night owl here! Adding you!!! :o)
  • Oh, how I want to reach through here and give you a big hug! Listen...I am almost 40 and I still live with the fear that I am going to do something to disappoint my Mom. Now, that being said, I have learned to deal with that fear in a rational way. Of course I do not want to disappoint her, but I am human, and I make…
  • I'd be moving out.
  • That is an awesome NSV! Made me giggle a bit...only because my husband is also a big 6'3, and when he is in tiny cars, he looks like Mr. Incredible! Congrats on your loss!
  • I hear you..I walk for exercise, too - three days a week and I hate it when the weather does not cooperate! I have an elliptical that is an amazing machine, but now that I have been walking outside, I loathe it. So, I started walking when the weather is bad, too! Ha! The only time I refuse to go out is if it is lightening.…
  • Beautiful!!!! Great job...you should be so very proud of yourself - heck, I'm proud of you and I don't even know you! Thank you for posting your story...going to check out your blog here in a bit!
  • That is the most ignorant thing that I have heard in quite a while, and it ticks me off to no end. As a speech-pathologist who has worked with patients recovering from neurological events who can not swallow and need a NG tube to survive; who would give anything to be able to eat or drink again - and then to see this…
  • Eat clean, eat balanced, stay in your calorie range, and get moving! :o)
  • Great articles! Thank you so much for posting! I lifted for years before I became a Mom - and I am getting the itch to do it again. I really miss it!
  • I'm turning 40 in August, and this is my birthday present to myself! Welcome to MFP...best of luck on your journey!
  • Scotland. Specifically the highlands. My husband and I have traveled quite a bit, and that is one place we would both love to go to, and neither one of us has been. We keep saying that is our honeymoon trip, but we've been married 8 years now. I am so ready to go...dang life keeps getting in the way! One of the few things…
  • Hi! I hope you are feeling better, and that you have a quick recovery! Sounds like you were a sick, sick girl... :o( I will not roll my eyes at you....there are people on this site for many reasons - not just losing weight. Personally, I am 5'11 and need to lose. Got into some very bad habits when my babies were little and…
  • I've been walking my neighborhood loop, 2.3 miles, hilly terrain, 3 times per week and staying in my calorie range, and have lost 46 pounds since Feb 9. So yes, walking works. Going to start lifting again once I lose another 20 or so more pounds, but walking is going to be a part of my life from now on. I crave my walks!!

  • Glad your run helped, and hope whatever issue it was that made you angry is resolved. Great run, btw. I am always amazed by people who are able to run - I'm not that graceful. :o)
  • I seriously just had my drink of water come out of my nose...too funny! Classic.
  • Mine is closed mainly because I haven't taken the time to figure out how to open it. If someone that I knew would like to see it, I would have no problem showing it to them. As far as reading others, I don't. I really don't care what other people are eating. This is their journey, and each one of us are finding our own…
  • You should be very proud! Every pound gone is a health benefit added! Great job!
