  • Hope everything turns out good for you, and it's just a mild muscle tear. Still hurts like the devil, but it heals faster! Was going to message E, and let her know we're still rolling, just haven't gotten to it yet. School and work have been massively hectic trying to get schedules settled. ::Grins:: First week of both,…
  • @ tazmac Welcome back! You sure did start with a nice couple of days. I know you will finish up just as strong. You are doing wonderful, and it's great to have you back. Don't know what happened to etaylor - said something about a personal issue or two cropping up a few posts back. Round 6, day 2 45 min walking across…
  • Round 6, day 1 What a way to start a new round! Actually made it to the weight room today, and was able to do most of what I wanted without being pressured by time to get done so I could shower and get back to class on time. It was GREAT! 58 mins walking (2.09 mi around campus, to/from car), 60 min lifting heavy stuff, 20…
  • August's picture update: Narrative update: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/kcaffee1/view/monthly-update-567406 OK, I'm lazy. Sue me. ::Grins:: Just didn't want to copy paste the novel, so be warned if you want to read what has been happening this month!
  • Round 5, day 21 Ended with a wonderful splash! 1 400 m medley of 100 m each in breast stroke, back stroke, free style, butterfly (10 min) 1 300 m medley of 100 m each in breast stroke, back stroke and free style (12 min) 850 m breast stroke (20 min) 750 m back stroke (20 min) 750 m free style (20 min)
  • Self preservation bump - update day.
  • Now that the weight is coming off, I'm actually getting my full height. I'd been told by a doctor that I had a few inches hiding in a couple of compressed disks due to my weight, and they were right. I actually started up around 415, may have been a bit higher, but that is the number I remember clearly. Medical issues…
  • Round 5, day 20 Wanted to have a day to focus on school work, seeing as classes started. But, I've wound up doing anything BUT school work today! Had to hit another cleaning blitz at home. 3 hours (claimed, I think it was actually closer to 5 hours total) cleaning with sanitizing things from the knee down for the sick cat…
  • I've had a nice little motivator - the scale was SUPER nice to me one day. Got a wonderful glimpse of where I will be in the not-so-distant future. But, to get there I've got to get this schedule settled back into some semblance of order. I got lazy over the last month or so of summer, and with school starting again, I…
  • @ etaylor Stick with the walking for about a week minimum, and stay off that foot as much as possible when you can. Also, get an ACE wrap, and try keeping some compression on the foot to see if that helps. (Just make sure not to cut off any circulation - that would be like closing the barn after the cows got out I think.)…
  • @ etaylor So long as you don't aggravate or re-injure your foot. I know it's hard sitting on the sidelines for a while, but ask if it is better to have a week or so now, or six - eight weeks later while the bones heal from a break. But, if the pain is gone, try a fast walk/ light jog to see if it will hold up to a full on…
  • @ etaylor Great attitude! Not letting life knock your feet out from under you figuratively along with literally is a HUGE win in my books. Just take it easy, so it can get a chance to recover. Doing great, keep it going. Round 5, day 17 9 mins walking (reported by pedometer), 50 mins cleaning (work), 60 mins weeding…
  • Been having trouble sleeping this week, so the losses have been minimal. But, at least they are LOSSES, not maintain or gain! Better next week - school starts again, so I'll be on the move a LOT more combined with a much more active job.
  • Forgive the pun... I've got to "weigh" in on the side that housework CAN help with your exercise. But, it will depend on how often and how much you do. I tend to lump my personal cleaning for the week into a one-time weekly time (usually no more than 30 minutes) that I'll throw in somewhere towards the end of the week for…
  • @ etaylor Don't forget rest days are important too. Though you've been BUSY! Great news, and day 10 was a HUGE day for you. Keep it going! Round 5, day 16 Just about nothing. Cleaned my "house" again - between the sick cat, the litter being dustier than usual, and my incense the shelves were whitish gray, not cherry wood.…
  • Added: 1.71 mi walked 8-10 2.5 mi walked 8-11 Total miles: 11.71 mi walked Swimming is still 4.7 km
  • @ etaylor Glad to help. I know I love that tea a TON, and I tend to keep at least 2 L made up at any time during the fall/winter months. For some reason, I just don't make it as much in the summer. Guess it's because I love the long days. Good work for day 8! Sorry I completely missed keeping up daily - I've been wiped out…
  • @ etaylor message sent, hope it helps! The fact that you keep going means you are NOT a failure. You are a winner. But, I do understand about having a mental tape you don't want on constant playback loop. Not fun while it's there, and it is hard to break. Hope yours runs into some happy shears soon! Keep up your great…
  • Actually made the pool for a total of 2.4 km today, making the monthly total 4.7 km Added another .66 miles walked to make that total 7.5 mi
  • Round 5, day 11 A nice light day. 13 mins walk (.46 mi), 90 min light cleaning, 15 min folding laundry Lots of SLEEP! Yikes! I didn't realize I was that tired, but I put the laundry in and went to sleep. Mom woke me up to change it, I managed that, then went to sleep. Got up and pulled it out of the drier and ate dinner,…
  • No swim today - bad pool hours, so swim total is still 2.3 km Walked off another .46 miles for a monthly total of 6.84 miles. (Grr, might have over matched myself this month.)
  • Finally! The pool was open today! Swimming - 2.3 km for a total monthly swimming total of 2.3 km Reeled off another mile walked for a monthly total walked of 6.38 miles
  • @ etaylor The fact that you're fighting through it is a good sign, none-the-less. I know when you've got the blue funks doing ANYTHING is a right bear of a fight with yourself. A couple of herbals that I use from time to time that actually help me when my SAD kicks in are licorish (if you can stand the flavor) and any of…
  • LW: 290.0 CW: 286.4 Weekly loss: 3.6 Total Loss: 4.2 Almost 1/10 there. OK, it's a small chunk of the way, but it's the right way!
  • Let's see, recipe for getting out of a funk... Write a really dark, morally deprived story/poem (yeah, really tear up the character, and do to them what it feels like life is doing to you. It really does help, odd as it sounds.) Read a really dark, morally deprived story/ poem (same concept, you just have to work a little…
  • Another 1.3 miles walked today for a total monthly mileage of: 5.38 Still no swimming to report. (Can't wait for intersession to end!)
  • Round 5, day 8 38 mins walking, 30 mins "cleaning" (again... grrr.. does this never END?!?), 45 mins weed eating
  • Walked 1.26 miles today - monthly total 4.08 Nothing to add on swimming (pool's STILL closed GRR!!!)
  • I'd like to join again. ::grins:: I've actually got 2 goals, however - 1) anything but swimming - 60 miles (Think I can hit this one) 2) swimming - 30 kilometers (may be high, but I'll give it a shot) Achieved so far: Goal 1) 8/1 - walked .5 miles 8/2 - walked 2.32 miles Goal 1 total: 2.82 goal 2) zero achieved to date…
  • @ etaylor I'm right on your heels for bed. Been up since the crack of dawn, and was working in unreliable A/C most of the day. Glad you got a nice walk in, and are making progress for your challenge! Here's to a better tomorrow! ::Raises up a HUGE glass of COLD flavored water:: Round 5, day 7 3 hours of washing, folding,…
