Great day on carbs, not too bad for fasting numbers, but almost no activity (house chore day, and I've been putting it off for too long. ::Grins::) So, the post dinner of 96 hurts, but is still perfectly acceptable. Horribly hot here (102 - I don't know when we got moved to Arizona, but I want to go home again, please.)…

Round 4, day 6 Lost my argument with myself about actually getting out of the house. Still was active, just not specifically for exercise or activity. But, have to get the house chores done SOMETIME, right? @ tazmac Totally agree about moving being better than becoming a spud. You have been doing great, and I know it won't…

I tried the 100 range, and wasn't seeing results, so I dropped it to 60-65. So long as I remember and keep it in that range, the numbers are coming down, but when I blow it for even 2 consecutive days, it takes at least a week to get it back into the low 100's. Still trying to coax the fasting numbers down on a consistent…

@ etaylor Great walk - You are making some major strides cementing the habit of movement into your life. Keep it going! @ bjune Congrats to your son and his team! And, big congratulations for hanging in there on the class - I don't participate myself due to the times they are offered (right over the family dinner around…

2 hrs post dinner was 86, but if the current trend holds true, I'll be sky rocketing tomorrow morning. May pull an all nighter tonight and burn through a pack of strips to see if I actually bottom out, of if these AM horrors are just the dawn effect haunting me. Total carbs today: 65 90 mins in the weight room, so burned a…

As has been stated before - start small with small changes. A lot of people who have a long way to go try to make too many changes at once, and then find that some of those changes don't work really well for long term sustainable living. Try to adjust the mind from "diet" (ie - eat this way to loose weight, then what ever…

Round 4, day 3 Was supposed to be a gym day, but the abuse I've been putting myself through finally caught up and knocked me over the head with the proverbial club. Almost couldn't crawl out of bed this morning due to the super stiff arms and complaining abs. So, I listened and took the day off. Will push back into the…

Any goal worth hitting takes quite a bit of concentration, and possibly a little obsession, so I wouldn't worry about it. Now, if you were looking at swimming around the WORLD, then there may be a problem! But, 10K is perfectly doable. So is just about anything that leads to a channel crossing. ::Grins:: And, part of the…

101 tonight It's settling down slowly. I guess when I threw myself out of ketosis that I really fouled things up. Been HUNGRY for just about anything I can get my hands on, though I've managed to stay out of mom's cookies. Hoping that over the next few days as I get back into a good keto state this blasted monster goes to…

@ etaylor Great day again! You are also rocking this get it moving thing. ::Raises a glass of flavored water:: Here's to absolutely stunning results from your checkup! @ Lilloise Great progress! Personal trainers are great - I remember loving my sessions last semester when I had access to one. Learn all you can, because it…

@ fishgutzy - I'm doing a TON of lifting and swimming, and I STILL can't manage to do 1 pull up! Last time I had access to an assist (a couple of years ago) I had to have almost my entire body weight as the counter weight (290 counter for 3??). Been afraid to try recently and make a fool of my self. Working on it, but even…

Hot and dry - yeah, it's summer here. 90 something carbs for the day, net was in the 60's though, and 2 hr post was 92. Hid from the heat most of the afternoon in the gym, so that may have something to do with the nice numbers right now!
-
@ etaylor You are doing great! Even your "rest" days you keep it moving. Wow! I bow to your dedication! Keep it up! @ Lilloise Great days 4, 5, and 6. Rest days are important, because they give you a chance to recuperate from the other days. Keep rocking this, because you look like you are having a blast! That's the best…

Keto, from my understanding is not recommended for most people looking to lose weight because it is both hard to maintain (unless, like a previous poster stated - the entire house is eating this way) and because it is typically NOT seen as a long term lifestyle. With that said, many people with metabolic disorders -…

Yep, blew the progress I had made in getting consistent sub-100 readings with last week's carb control issues. Tonight was 106 2 hrs after dinner. Total carbs to this point were: 46, net of 27. Protein was pretty high though: 215 (40% goal of 281). Could the high protein be part of what's jerking my numbers up?

There are MANY ways to guestimate what you burn during weight lifting. I haven't seen anyone recommend the sparkpeople link you have, but I haven't been around this series of threads for very long. However, you can compare your result to this caluclator from Livestrong:…

@ tazmac Moving is part of your life, but anyone can burn out on a challenge. ::Grins:: Just being told I HAVE to do something is usually enough to get my back up and I'll not - just from spite. Baaaaad habit of mine, so I have figured out how to work around it. Usually by taking a step or two back before re-entering the…

Thank you everyone! Now, to find the elusive ingredients for the occasional PB&J! Can't wait for Aldi's to actually open, because I've seen several of you listing Aldi's items. Will definitely look up/print off these ideas! Thank you, thank you!

I've finally hit my first "goal" of getting in my 1600 m in under an hour, now I'm trying to double that. I'm managing to hit the distance right now in 2 hours, so have a long way to go. I'd also love to be able to actually swim 100 m of butterfly straight through - right now, I'm having to do it in 25 m (1 lap) chunks…

@ Lilloise How are you liking your yoga classes? I've heard that is a great complement to lifting, but I haven't gotten the nerve up to actually venture into any of the free classes at school. Still on the fence about the yoga, and gathering other's opinions about it first. @jezy Looks like you've got a great weekend…

86 tonight. A little over on gross carbs, but actually under on nets. Not a whole bunch of cardio, so am definitely happy. Will see what tomorrow morning brings.
-
Back on track with an even 100 2 hours after dinner.

@ Jezy Wonderful day! I've seen several posts where people say that morning is the only time (or most likely time to guarantee) their workouts. You are doing wonderful! Keep up the excellent work! @ etaylor What a wonderfully strong end to your second round! Look forward to seeing you back for round 3. @ bjune Sounds like…

Not exactly sure if this is 2 or 2.5 hours after dinner (went out to eat, and not sure when we actually got done.) But, the 106 is a bit confusing. I've been good today! Carbs at 61 for the day, and net was MUCH lower than that. But, I'm actually happy, because I'm well within the "safe" range despite the confusion. Guess…

Yeah, that would make the soap be on the decidedly "Not Approved List"! May have to look into the Naptha soap though. Haven't run into any poison ivy recently, but I'd rather be prepared than caught out again.

I've been lucky so far for my healing ::knocks on wood for the luck!:: But, when I get bites, I usually use a mild ammonia solution - about 1 pt ammonia to 9 pts water (Or, the easy way - the commercial ammonia treatment marketed under the brand name "After Bite". Does wonders to kill the itch for just about any kind of…

Round 3, day 17 Yesterday was cut short - got some more weed eating done. But, while I was weeding the flower bed again, found a big wasp nest. Red wasps and I don't get along, and before I could get the wasp spray on them, one found me. 30 mins weed eating 60 mins (approximate) weeding @ tazmac Nice days 2 and 3! Keep it…

Due to medical reasons, I'm having to live ketogenic. I can definitely tell in my swimming when I've "fallen off the wagon". My times get worse for my endurance swims, and I feel a lot shakier when I crawl out of the water. When I keep my ratios right, I can actually walk out after 1600 + m swims. Didn't deliberately use…

Round 3, day 17 Think I tried to kill myself, but I didn't succeed. 3 flights of stairs (finally, the knee cooperated!) carrying my 10 - 12 pound pack 50 mins on the weights - anyone have suggestions for the next step up from the abductor/adductor leg machine? I've almost topped out the weight stack on this one. 50 mins…

Not at all. Seeing that I'm not the only one just means that things CAN change for the better for many people. Congrats on your own success so far! You look fabulous.
