  • Knowing your BMR is a great first step. Now you need to know your TDEE (that is what you actually burn in a day based on your activity level). For example, my BMR is 1570, my TDEE is 2100, so to lose weight I eat net cals of about 1750. The idea is to eat more than what your body needs (BMR) but less than what your body…
  • I agree!! Thanks for posting!
  • Great job! You are well on your way to reaching your goal. 27lbs is a lot of weight and you should be proud, it's noticeable in your tummy pics.
  • Hi, I have recently increased my calorie intake. I had been set at 1200 cals/day but also hadn't been eating back my exercise cals, so I was often netting between 500 to 800 cals. It took a while for eating more cals to make sense. I had been stagnant for 2 weeks (3 weigh-ins!) and on my third weigh-in decided something…
  • I have a belly that overhangs, attributable to my pregnancies, weight gain and cesaereans. I have been told that some skin folds and imperfections take a year or two to improve and that drinking the minimum 8 glasses of water per day helps. I am still working on my belly, I hope it improves. Only time will tell, but I…

  • Peanut butter, avocados, almond butter, nuts, cheese....
  • Thank you. I am impressed by your post, and am happy to see all the good it is doing for other MFP'ers. Well done!
  • BEST RECOMMENDATION I can give you as a sufferer of late night binging, is to increase your daily calorie allowance, eat frequently with good portions during the day, and ensure you are taking in lots of protein. If you are starving, it may be because you are not taking in enough calories. Lots of research done on this.…
  • In 9 months too. Very inspiring! You look fabulous!
  • What a transformation! Amazing!
  • Same here! I step on daily to set myself up for the day (if it's a gain, I'm motivated to push harder; a loss I'm just motivated to keep with it!). I do official weigh-ins weekly.
  • That is terrific! Is this from calorie counting alone or have you incorporated exercise as well? You are well on your way!!
  • You're looking great and are halfway to your goal! I can really see the progress in how your clothes are fitting, great job!
  • He's been doing it for a couple of weeks. I don't know what caused him to start, he usually ate pretty normal. If it continues much longer (like one more week) I'm going to have a sit down with him. :(
  • My husband thinks that to lose weight he needs to starve himself, it's very frustrating! He gloats about how he only ate 800 cals in 48 hours... I'm a bit disgusted, but he's my husband, he can do what he wants. When I tell him I'm losing weight by eating 200cals over my BMR (which works out to about 1750 cals net each…
  • Frankie - great suggestions! Remind yourself why you are doing this. It sounds like the socializing is more important than your weight loss... although, that said, plenty of others have lost weight while still having alcohol. They didn't drink in excess, and they didn't binge eat with it. Look at your cals and set a…
  • I'm on Jillian Michaels 90 Day Body Revolution. I use MFP to track my meals and act as a food diary. I also use the forums for information and inspiration.
  • You look much happier and confident in your after pics. Great job! One day at a time, you can do this!!
  • I would want to hear what other options I have available. If I'm that large, I know I'm large, so there's no reason to beat around the bush. Also, I'm probably embarrassed that I've been put through the experience of trying to fit into the tube. I've had an mri done this past year on my left hip. It is not a fun…
  • Depends on how far gone you go! If you take in 500 extra calories a day than what you need, then you will gain back a pound a week. If you're taking in 1000 extra calories a day, that's 2 lbs a week. If you are keeping your cals near to your daily requirement, then you shouldn't gain back at all. Have fun!
  • I hate to see food go to waste, and part of that led me to the weight I was at. Now during social get togethers, I understand it's not my responsibility to eat all the food prepared for the guests. I eat only what I want to eat, not what I think I should be eating to let the host(ess) know I appreciate his/her food. Does…
  • Take it one day at a time, and don't beat yourself up over failed attempts or bad food days. Think about what you want to achieve, and let it guide you. Best of luck! Feel free to add me as a friend as well. :)
  • Good for you! I can see the improvement in your body and in your face. Take it a day at a time. You have 38 pounds to go... before you know it that 38 will be 30. Keep it up!
  • Hi Cassidysmommy, That's exactly where I'm at right now. I've been keeping my cals at my target and exercising daily, and over the last week my weight went up three pounds and is just sitting there. Talk about frustrating! My husband says I should not get discouraged as it is the body adjusting. I guess we are just at the…
