Some people will say you have to log every single thing you put in your mouth, but I think something like stealing a french fry, having a bite of someone else's meal at a restaurant, etc is going to be almost impossible to log with any accuracy. I'd suggest leaving some leeway in your calories for that sort of thing. But…

Your description makes me think you wear the same kind I wear. Or at the very least I wear a similar kind that I love more than any bra I've ever owned. I will be thrilled when I shrink out of these sizes but I will be so sad to lose these bras!!

I would scarf down that plate of kiwi fruit so. fast.

THIS. I get so annoyed by the idea that a muscular woman is "manly."

Okay, now I want a sweet potato.

When I went to Niagara Falls as a kid we went to the Canadian side. :P That's all, unfortunately. There are so many places I want to see but it's incredibly expensive.

During the week I usually have cereal with blueberries, or oatmeal with raisins and a little brown sugar. On the weekends when I have more time I like to have eggs in some fashion and toast or a bagel. Right now I'm stuck on making scrambled eggs mixed with a little cottage cheese. YUM.

What's really interesting about this is that the these diets always seem so much more complicated and harder to do than just trying to eat at a calorie deficit. They're always more restrictive about what one can eat and harder to keep up with. With all the time and energy devoted to trying to follow a fad diet, you'd think…

Okay, I haven't read all the pages of comments yet and I think your heart is in the right place, but I think this part is important and needs to be highlighted. Do you think that perhaps at least part of the reason your wife worries about not being pretty enough for you is that you give her a hard time when she feels like…

We used to have a digital scale and I hated it. I could get on and off three times and have variations of as much as 2 or 3 pounds sometimes, depending on if I was standing slightly more off center or something. A few years ago as a birthday present to myself I got one of those eye level medical scales with the weights and…

haha that is me exactly. I do the same, and I looove the Libra app.

Every now and then I'll see someone post about how they want to join a gym but they are intimidated by going in there with all those other people who have been going forever, are in better shape, etc. Those are always met with a chorus of people saying "Don't worry, no one is paying attention to you, they're focusing on…

I took them all out of the boxes and put them in ziploc bags in individual servings. Then when I want some I grab a baggie and I can eat the whole thing. :) Sounds like it wouldn't be very helpful but it has been for me.

Same here, pretty much. I have two friends, both of whom I know from other forums about other interests. One will often go days without logging in, the other logs every day. I had three friends, but one unfriended me. As far as I can tell it was because I don't have an open diary. She asked why, I explained my reasoning,…

Honestly, it's only been two weeks. To my mind the absolute hardest thing about losing weight is not letting yourself get discouraged. That first week is cruel to everyone because you drop a lot of water weight suddenly and you think hey, wow, this isn't that hard! And then after that things start settling and those high…

Only if you're the type who is going to let it drive you crazy. Personally I weigh every day now and I find it rather motivational. Used to be I'd weigh once a week and be discouraged if there was no change from one week to the next. Since I've started weighing every day (and tracking it with an app I downloaded for my…

Perhaps you can look into some sort of strength program that doesn't require weights? There are body weight programs out there, though I've never really looked into them myself.

I can't figure out the mechanics of this. I'd think it'd just end up a gooey mess.

When I used to eat fast food all the time I had this thing where whatever sandwich I ate, I would take it apart and eat the pieces separately. Like when I'd get the grilled chicken sandwich from Burger King, I'd eat the bottom part of the bun first, then the top with all the mayo and lettuce, then the chicken. I did this…

Exactly what I was thinking.

I lost 4 pounds last week too. I put it down partly to water and partly to the fact that I've been sick all week and doing more sleeping than eating. :P That sort of thing usually only happens early on when you have a lot of weight to lose and later with a weird convergence of circumstances, but it isn't likely to…

My aunt had a big church wedding with a shower and reception and all that over 20 years ago. Just in the last year or so she told me she and her husband had really just wanted to go off on vacation together somewhere and get married with no fuss, but her in laws immediately dove in and started making plans and she felt…

The problem here is that everyone is going to feel differently. Ask 10 different people what they like and you are likely to get 10 different answers. You are never going to be able to look good in the eyes of everyone, because everyone thinks different things look good. That way lies madness. If you feel good about…

I used to do it only once a week because I'd heard that it was better to do that so you don't get too preoccupied by natural fluctuations. But lately I've been trying every morning and I actually prefer that. I find it helps to see those fluctuations and how various things might affect them. But if you're the kind of…

Better than asking the workers to do it, why don't the customers who put their trash in there clean up after themselves instead of being slobs? Ugh, I hate that.

One of my favorites as the weather gets cooler is oatmeal made with almond milk. 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup dried chopped plums (sunsweet's plum amazins are yummy..raisins or even dried cranberries would work too), 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk, maybe a tsp of turbinado sugar if you need it. Mix it up, stick it in the…

If by program it you mean did I set it up with all the info, yes of course I did. It's all accurately entered, as is the info on the bike. The watch does have a "Polar Fitness Test" that, according to the manual, is "an easy and quick way to measure your cardiovascular fitness and aerobic capacity. The test result is a…

Yeah, the weird thing is that the bike came with a polar strap that you wear, too. I think until I look into it a little more I'll go with a number somewhere in the middle. :)
