I hate it when people try to convince me they are in great shape when they skip walking up two flights of stairs for the elevator.

Well at those stats you have a good time before an issue would surface for you. Try it for a month. Not much should happen anyway. You can decide if you want to keep it up longer or not based on the results from that month.

There was a thread yesterday about heavy lifting photo results. Look it up and check out the girl who changed her entire body. Seriously look at those photos. Her weight didn't change much! I'm still totally fat but in the last 12 weeks of lifting I've gained 5 lbs and lost an inch in my waist. I have a lot to lose, so I…

The pictures are amazing but the words are incredible, priceless. Thanks for making it about more than just appearance!

Seriously this. There are plenty of skinny guys that lack self confidence and can't get a date either!
-
I know. I go for big and tall every time but that didn't prevent me from noticing that my (future) husband was the most awesome sweetheart with all the right words. Now he's the one.

Before I found the man I married, I dated tons of guys with totally different body types. I guess what always attracted me was more what was in the package than the package itself. That said, if you aren't confident about the package and you don't think it speaks for itself than you gotta stand up, move in and tell the…

Zero! But my goal is to be able to do one some day. Hopefully soon after I reach my goal weight.

I think you'd better eat it now before it gets freezer burn! 50 ml, what is that, like 2 1/2 tbsps?

[/quote] But really, I'd like to know what is going on. Again, this applies to really a relatively small amount of people. Not many people are in the very high range so not many can really reply with significant data since most replies will be at lower weights and their data is not in question. By high weight I'm saying…

I know! I also have a HRM watch thing I got b/f the polar. It doesn't have calories, so before I got the polar I always had to try to estimate calories based on heart rate and I have to say this device is about 1/3 of what I was expecting based on what I was doing before.
-
I'm actually interested in the answer to this question. I never ended up using the calories on this device because I felt like they were so off. Maybe it's not set up correctly. I couldn't figure out how to enter my max heart rate. I don't have it on me, but I think the last time I used it was a 30 minute run with an…

Why don't you put your stats into one of those online calculators that asks for weight, activity duration and average heart rate and see what it says for calories burned compared to the polar?
-
Wow! You look amazing. You really set the bar! Good job. Own it!

I agree with the others that you don't need to make a decision based on the letter you got but at the same time, maybe looking into it a little more is a blessing in disguise. Just the fact that you've posted about it makes me think you'll sleep better at night noing for sure. On the flip side, I'm a 31 year old with at…

That's great! Just think what they'll say a year from now!

I log it under cardio as strength training and use my HRM to input exact calories burned. I'm not sure how you could estimate without an HRM but the calories burned that calculate with the cardio strength training option are usually really low for me if I do kettlebell stuff or standing hand weights and pretty accurate if…

Totally. You have to ask yourself if it is worth it and I guess something finally clicked for me. I could work my *kitten* off all week and ruin it with two nights of drinking and be on a diet that never works for the rest of my life or I could just get it over with as fast as possible! All I know is it sucks to have a…

Have a weekend to yourself and don't be social. Decide on some other things to do that you should do anyway. You might even enjoy it. At the very least, you'll prove to yourself that you can have a weekend where you don't overdo it. Then maybe add the social thing back and see if you can do it without giving up on your…

That is actually a really awesome NSV. Way to go! Be totally proud of it! Afterall, you worked hard for it, right?

Wow! You are a different person. Thanks for sharing your story.

Congratulations! You are in control. A wonderful victory!

I used to bike 2 hours and day and run for an hour and then lift. Then I broke my foot. I gained 40 pounds in 2 1/2 months and now that's why I'm here! I wish I would have just eaten less during the 6 months that I couldn't really do anything but it was SO HARD!!! I should have joined MPF back then. Oh well! Now I have a…

It must feel so good to finally feel like there is an "after." Congratulations!

It's no wonder that nobody (at least in America) knows how to eat. As a child, I was taught that each day I should eat a giant pyramid of food. There was a loaf of bread on the bottom which seemed an excessive way to start... and those unhulled oats, yikes! And that bowl of rice... AND the bowl of pasta.. wow! I'm full…

Also, if you are a snacker be sure to save calories for it and plan those snacks into your day. I heard this saying "eat only until 80% full." When you sit down for a meal don't eat until you are full. Eat a little and in half an hour or 45 minutes you won't be hungry anymore. You can eat those calories you didn't have at…

It's the hardest thing ever! It's not like humans evolved by not eating when they got full. No, we have these systems that store that energy for later. We aren't really built for a world where we don't have to store because food is all around us. I try to keep as little as possible sweets and snacks wise at home and at…
