  • I'm not at all defensive over people eating good food. I'm 100% for it. But I don't like the attitude against people who also choose to take supplements. The holier than thou attitude of some "clean eating" people is getting a little old. I'm glad for the people who eat clean. I'm happy to hear their arguments about why…
  • Our species has been around for a long time. True. But... 1900 - Average life span for white females was 40.5 years 2004 - Average life span for white females was 80.8 years Clean food is not a cure all.
  • Have you studied this? Because all vitamins are NOT created equal by any means. Buying a good brand is very important. I researched before I chose. I didn't choose the best for financial reasons but GNC is a good one. Most drug store brands were worthless.
  • This study looked at breast cancer. But did taking vitamins decrease their risk for other types of cancer? Or help protect them from other serious illnesses or disease? What was the overall death rate in the study?
  • There are also tons of studies showing the harm of pesticides that you get mostly from fruits and veggies. Washing can help but doesn't get them all off. Buying organic helps but that can get expensive. Nothing is a sure thing and studies are often flawed. You have to do the best you can and go with what makes sense to you.
  • GNC Women's Ultra Mega Multi Vitamins NOW 4000 Vitamin D on top of the 1600 I get from the multi vitamins (I'll knock that down in the summer) Occasionally I will take Probiotics (perscription strength) I need to add more Calcium to this mix. I'll be hitting GNC sometime this week for that.
  • I think the biggest detriment to kids health has been tv, computers and gaming systems. Portable systems (like cell phones even) make the situation even worse.
  • I don't believe that junk food stops weight loss. I was very underweight and lived on pizza and an entire bag of chocolate a day. You don't eat enough and you will lose weight. It's an extremely unhealthy diet and I certainly don't advocate anyone doing it. But I don't believe junk = fat. It certainly wasn't the case for…
  • I want to add that while I didn't eat for days in the past, I don't think I could do that now. Your body gets used to things. I'm now used to eating at certain times of the day. So my body tells me it's time to eat. If you don't eat for a long time, then your body stops asking for food. And under those circumstances, it…
  • I don't get hungry as a rule. I gained weight out of forcing myself to eat (I was underweight for years and overshot when I finally decided to do something about it) and later I ate out of boredom. Plus the things I ate were not exactly heathy. Even so, I only needed to lose 10 pounds tops. So I don't mind when people say…
  • Thanks for the advice. :) I'm trying to work up to that. Right now I'm on my 3rd week of Jillian Michaels 6 Week 6 Pack. So far I'm still only able to do 20 minutes at a time. :( I'm horribly out of shape. I have a bad back/neck so I have to really ease into this so I don't get hurt. Any particular weight lifting exercises…
  • Smile and be happy. Along with confidence, it's the sexiest thing you can do.
  • BMR = 1228 TDEE = 1474 I'm currently on a 1200 cal plan. I only have about 5 more pounds to lose. And I still have that dang muffin top which I'm trying to exercise away. Progress is painfully slow. The link recommended states: "As you get closer to your goal weight, your weight loss will start to slow down. It is OK to…
  • You have to live with your experiences. But don't put them on others. Having a faithful spouse does not make one "blissfully ignorant". It just means they chose well and found a lasting, true love. I would call those that don't believe in faithful love to be "sadly ignorant".
  • Depends on how you are defining wealth. I'd take love and a middle class income. But I'd choose wealth over being dirt poor. All the love in the world isn't going to make me happy if I don't have enough money to care for my children or loved ones.
  • No, I never lie. Making it look good on paper (or this site) is easy. I'm not interested in easy or looking good in cyberlife or some fantasy world. I want to work hard and look good in REAL life.
  • It sounds like he has a real thing for you. And you? Not so much. A few people here have said that you should try it and see how it goes. One word of warning. If it doesn't work out, you will have lost your best friend and there's no going back. Be sure you're willing to risk it all before you jump.
  • I *hate* comments like those you've mentioned. I don't understand why people think those are fine, but would be horrified if someone was called "fat". Or heaven forbid, told that they looked "gross". "Real women have curves" is an accepted phrase. But can you imagine if someone said this.... A real woman can be swept off…
  • Banner ads are normally based on the websites you've visited. So if I look at bathing suits at Venus, then I get those types of ads. If I look at health food sites, I get ads about health food. Clearing out your cookies should help.
  • I not terribly overweight but I could lose a few pounds. Mostly I want... 1. To be strong enough to keep up with others in physical activities and sports. 2. Competition. I want to look better than other women who are around my SO 3. Turn back the clock. I may be getting older, but a strong healthy body will keep me…
  • I usually use a fake birthdate. There are a few sites (like facebook) where I use my real month and day, but a different year. I think using your real birthdate is a security risk and opens you up to identity theft.
  • I take 5600 per day in the winter months. When it gets sunny enough, I'll drop that back to 2000
  • People express love differently. Have you ever heard of the 5 Love Languages? Check it out. There's a free test to see which love language is yours. http://www.5lovelanguages.com/learn-the-languages/the-five-love-languages/ I'm "Physical Touch" so I need all those hugs and kisses to feel loved.
  • I couldn't find my size in a department store, and the saleslady came up and asked if she could help. I explained my problem. Her nasty response? "Perhaps you need to shop in the little girl department." And then she walked off.
  • I have two rescues. Both are flat-coated retriever mix. I love, love, love my dogs !
  • I think it's terribly invasive. And there is no way in hell I'd EVER give anyone my passwords. You're supposed to be judged based on your skills, not your private life. References from past jobs are completely acceptable and should be enough. I think there needs to be a new law to that effect. Just like you can't hire…
  • I use this also and I've been happy with it.
  • I agree when people say "when it's a health issue" but it's really not that simple. What consitutes a health issue? I was underweight for many years. I look back at pictures and cringe because I looked so bad. Yet I never had any health issues. My dad said he used to be afraid to hug me, because I was so fragile. Now he…
  • Geocaching. It's a great way to find wonderful out of the way places, get exercise, have fun and meet interesting people. It can be as easy or as hard as you like - both mentally and physically. Geocaching is a world wide treasure hunt using a GPS. You probably pass geocaches every day and don't even know they are there.…
  • He asked for something for his dog. For that fact alone, the guy deserves whatever you gave him. You should feel really good about it.
