  • Yes you would. I initially started by just cutting calories and only lost 8 lbs. in 2 months, but lost 20 inches (over chest, waist, hips, and thighs)!!! Now, those inches were all postpartum baby fat, but it was still fat! I should also mention that I had already lost all of my pregnancy weight and stalled for a good…
  • I've been a T1 for 27 years and pump user for 13 years. I average 33 units a day with 21.9 of that being my basal. I have been following a lower carb way of living since the end of March and have lost 17 lbs! My daily average was around 50 units prior to my lifestyle change. I'm no longer a carbaholic and loving it! I…
  • Hi! I have been a type 1 diabetic for 27 years. Mother, wife, and pump user. My weight has been up and down for the 13ish years I have been on the pump and I'm finally in the mindset to not let insulin keep me fat! I have been following a lower carb, lower calorie way of living for the last 4-5 months, along with moderate…
  • As a type 1 for 27 years I can only relate to the carb coma feeling. ;)
  • I agree with all the above! Whenever I "cheat", I just workout harder and longer because it messes with my mind when I go over my calories. If you can work it into your calories you will feel much better about it. I will still have some regret, but in the end I'm more concerned about my overall.
  • If your deficit is too much you risk your body going into starvation mode in which your body essentially eats up your muscles for fuel and holds on tightly to your fat and stores more fat.
  • Both burn fat, but lifting will help you burn around the clock while cardio's effect only lasts a couple hours post workout. Think of it this way, the more muscle you have, the better your body is at burning fat even when you aren't doing anything, such as sleeping.
  • As a 5 ft 3.5 inch 34yr old with medium build, my goal is 140-145, but wouldn't mind the 130's. Ultimately it comes down to how I look and feel once I reach my goal. I'm quite curvy and very well proportioned, and I want to keep my shape....just less fat. ;)
  • My guess, from personal experience, is that your body is retaining water due to the increased activity. I always allow a couple weeks for your body to adjust before making changes.
  • So, it appears to me that you're working out A LOT, but eating very few calories. You need to fuel your body (with the right kind of fuel) when working out hard, otherwise your body will essentially eat itself, ie. use muscle for fuel and leave you fatty and flabby. Just a thought.
  • My youngest daughter is 7 months old today! I managed to drop all my pregnancy weight (30.5 lbs) and another 11, but am now aiming to get back to my "before babies" goal weight. No more babies planned, ever, so now I'm ready to finally work extra hard at being fit forever! Good luck!
  • This thread makes me feel better....I'm glad I'm not alone! :)
  • I LOVE mine!! I am constantly checking my fitbit app and fitbit.com to see where I'm at throughout the day. It's been great for my motivation to exercise more, drink more water, and eat less. I highly recommend!! I also use mine to monitor my sleep, which has been very helpful.
