  • Day 1 Alpha Cardio is done and in the books and I burned 438 calories! The easy partis done, now on to focusing about my eating
  • B&A of my wife and I. I started at 264 and ended at 190 - and have kept it off for about 5 months now...
  • I'm in the process of upgrading with Minimed. I have a Paradigm 722. Just from my experience, I have had zero problems with Medtronic customer service. I do order my supplies from a 3rd party because that is what my insurance wants, but I can still originate the request with Medtronic. They were very helpful with me when I…
  • I'm an Insanity grad and my wife is a P90X grad. She tried Insanity a few months back and decided to stop because she didn't like the way she hurt the next day. I would definitely suggest to do Insanity before the Asylum. I'm probably going to do Asylum in August/September, but I know it's more intense than what I'm doing…
  • Hey, type 1 here. I've been on the pump for 18 years. I just went into maintenance mode after losing 71 lbs. You can do this!!! I was nervous at first, but another type 1 friend of mine encouraged me to become more active and it has paid off. My diabetes nurse told me to make sure that I was a little high (for me it's 200)…
  • For me, I saw a lot more come off in my second month of Insanity.
  • I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I've had similar things happen at work. It may because I'm a Manager and therefore universally hated :) As far as your issues with anxiety, OCD and BPD. My wife has some of the same issues and she is on here as well, her name is Pandaweevil. She has hit her goal weight and may…
  • Jan, My favorite line of your's is, "Crackheads don't work this hard." Keep up the good work, I'm sure there are a lot more positive people that surround you than this crackhead wanna-be ... :)
  • I want to add more on here. Today, after starting this back in July of last year I now weigh ... 199.6 lbs! Finally under 200 lbs for the first time since I was a teenager. I still have some more to go, I have as my goal 195, but I think I can get down to 190 which will leave me a little bit of room once I start…
  • Smaller pic now
  • I go over on my sugars every day and I've lost the weight. However, I'm a type 1 diabetic, so if I don't have sugar, I'm dead ...
  • Brownies, brownies, the magical fruit The more you eat the more you toot The more you toot the better you feel So let's have brownies at every meal! :)
  • People in here can be so judgemental of others. My philosophy is if it works for you, then fine. If someone expresses a frustration about their life we are so quick to turn on them instead of lifting them up. My wife and I have each lost over 60 lbs each. Our kids have always eaten okay, but they do have sugared cereal. We…
  • I can also add that Power 90 is a good program to use. My wife and I both wanted to try P90X, but early on we determined that physically we were not able to do that. The videos can be rather vanilla in presentation, but then again, I'm not working out to be entertained. :) My wife and I lost about 30 lbs each on Power 90.…
  • I used to work for a company that was involved in the pioneering work on sucralose. I'm a bachelor degreed chemist by education. Most artificial sweeteners (exception being aspartame) are based of the sucrose molecule. I know for a fact that the synthesization of sucralose was based on designing a better non-caloric…
  • There is a workout out from Beachbody.com called Insanity. It is a cross-training workout. There is a lot of jumping in it and the shoes are good for that. I've done other Plyometric (jumping) workouts and these shoes work great for them.
  • I use them for my Insanity workout and I think they are great.
  • I started Insanity after deciding I wanted a stronger cardio workout than P90X. I was in pretty good shape when I started Insanity, however after 15 days, I've lost almost 5 lbs.
  • I'm not a coach, but my wife and I started with Power 90 before P90X and that helped get us ready for P90X. I highly recommend that program.
  • Hey, type 1 diabetic here. I always record the sugar I intake to correct a low. It may be frustrating, but also if you are dropping too much then you may need to contact your doctor or diabetes nurse and get your insulin (or pump) regimen changed. My old blood sugar adjustment that I used to take was Starbursts. Once I saw…
  • What is a good time if it is frozen and what is a good time if it is thawed?
  • I took jnlynch's advice today and I went into my workout with about a 250. During the workout it hit 160 and at the end I was 135. I didn't like that 250, so I still have some playing to do with it a little more.
  • That's good advice jnlynch, I"ll drop it all the way to zero today. I did a workout last night and went from 230 to 61 during it.
  • I'll let you know 58 days from now :)
  • Jenny, You may want to consider adjusting your basal rate 2 - 3 hours before you workout. Remember it takes about 2 hours of your insulin to be at its peak activity. I back it off by 70% and I've had my blood sugar slightly rise during a 800 calorie burn cardio workout. I then check it after my workout and then 30 minutes…
  • Hey - how's it going, type 1 diabetic here. I'm on a pump as well. I'm new to working out and losing weight with a pump. I'm working with my Diabetes Nurse, however she is telling me that I need to go with a high sugar into my workouts. Unfortunately, that meant my last A1C check was pretty high. I'm working with my basal…
