Just wanted to bump this back up to the top - I'm so very proud of my wife!

Hey guys - I just saw this thread and I just wanted to give you all encouragement. Back in mid-July I weighed in at 264 lbs and was poured into size 42 relaxed fit jeans. I first started to work out using Wii Fit, then I used other Wii exercises and the weight came off gradually. Then at the end of October, I started Power…

I'm currently doing P90X and I enter everything as cardio. I also keep my weights and reps on a separate excel spreadsheet. I wear a heart rate monitor with chest strap to get an accurate capture of the calories I'm burning. I hope this helps...

My shoulder pops, without pain, when I lift weights over my head. I talked with a Rheumatologist (joint doctor) about it and he looked at an MRI I had done previously. He said that it appeared to be a form of arthritis and that I shouldn't worry too much about it. He recommended that I no longer do that exercise, but he…

I'm a current user of P90X, however, I started slow with my weight loss. Here is a comment I posted the other day when someone was asking about P90X. I would put Insanity on the same level, because of the intensive nature of the workout. You are exactly where my wife and I were a little over 6 months ago. We started our…

Hello and welcome to the site. You are exactly where my wife and I were a little over 6 months ago. We started our weight loss journey by getting used to this site and starting to practice portion control. The first couple of weeks were very hard. We also started doing some low impact exercise first (wii fit, wii EA…

For my my HRM tells me not only how many calories I burn during a workout, but also where my heart rate is during my workout. If it is too low, it lets me know when I have to give it a little push. When it is too high, it is telling me I should slow down a little bit. For me, it has never been too high, close, but not over.

I'm a little late to this discussion, but I'd like to add my opinion. My wife and I are about to start our P90X journey. I did a lot of research on the different fitness programs before we got to this point. We both started out with low impact Wii Fit exercises and slowly progressed into higher and higher impact ones.…

I used to go to a Mongolian Grill buffet. There I would get Chicken, onion, cabbage and other veggies with a little Szechuan sauce. That was great and a lot of protein and very low carbs (didn't add noodles or rice to it).

Good job! You and I had similar starting weights (mine was 264) - I'm now at 222 six months later. Stick with it and you can do it!

My wife and I weren't ready physically for P90X, so we tried Power 90. This was Tony Horton's (creator of P90X) first workout series before P90X. It is a good introduction to cardio and strength training. It is a little repetitive and the videos are pretty generic, however, we both lost about 20 - 25 lbs each so far using…

P90X is a series of fitness DVDs that are pretty popular in the US. However, you need to be in shape to start them - there is a fit test before you start. My wife and I weren't ready at the beginning, which is why we bought the Power 90 series of DVDs. Those were great for getting us in shape. My wife has lost 46 lbs after…

I started out using the regular Wii Fit Plus. The hula hoop game really kicked my butt for a while. Being a guy, I don't really hula hoop :) Then I went to The Biggest Loser, that was fine for a while, but then my knees started to hurt more than just exercise soreness, so I changed to the EA Active. I did that for the…
