I'm sorry, I know we moved past the salt debate, but I just caught up. I LOVE salt. It's my favorite condiment. I won't touch fries or most foods unless they have salt. I guess that'd be an easy way to not eat fried food! Haha Good thing we have kidneys to regulate our bodies and minerals. Gasp! Anyways, back to pregnancy?…

Working out 2x's a day doesn't increase fitness or give you faster results, and can EASILY lead to over training, which results in injuries, and injuries = no working out. That being said, if you have time and it depends on what your goals are. For me, it would be ideal to lift weights at one time of day and run at another…

Yes! Thank you! Americone Dream! mmmm. A half cup is definitely enough, but it doesn't mean I don't want more. haha

I love ice cream, it's a food group next to wine. Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Therapy, and the Vanilla with caramel and chocolate covered waffle cone chunks (can't remember the name). Something that helps satisfy me, I buy the mini versions of the candy bar ice cream things, like twix/snickers, etc. I tried getting on the…

Depending on the intensity and exercise you're doing it's not far fetched to think you burn on average between 100 - 300 cal/hour. This greatly depends on body weight. If you're heavier, you burn more, lighter - less, and intensity. Most people don't lift consistently hard during that hour and take longer rest than needed.…

Well to be precise, water weight is fat free mass which is a component that is used to help determine lean body mass. So no, it's not lean mass, it's a component of.

Falafel... which is stupid, I know how it's prepared. Whole Foods recently began posting calories next to each ingredient, I use to get 1 or 2 to add to my salad. 100 calories each! As for the tortilla issue, mission makes wonderful street taco versions. The corn variety is 3 for 150 calories. The flower is like 2 for 180?…

I chose my goal based on past experiences at certain weights. I was low 100's in college being a competitive athlete. As far as I can tell, I have no intention of reaching that level again. Now I'll be happy with 135-140 range. Being lower will be too much work to maintain. I'm muscular and 5'4", so 135-140 will be just…

No judgement  I wasn't singling anyone out or any particular piece of advice, it was more of an ah ha moment realizing how much information has changed in a relatively short amount of time. I will never criticize or judge someone for seeking out knowledge/information. Especially pertaining to healthy. I also always…

Isn't it funny how far we've come in understanding of what's true vs. what's just BS? Like, I'm thinking back to when I was a kid.. my mom was all about the low fat diet. Nothing else matters, because fat is what makes you fat. The list goes on. Not eating after a certain time, eating lots of small meals, can't eat certain…

Late to the party, but who doesn't need a good vent session on a Monday? Majority of these have been said, but I could use to release some hot air. The one that grinds my gears most - and is my unpopular opinion, you don't need a special diet to lose weight. Everyone that does paleo or keto or name the rest, it's so damn…

This video was difficult to watch lol. But I agree. If self control and motivation were easily available - we'd likely have less over weight people. The key to my success was habits. Fake it until you make it. I like to make all the changes I need at once and tweak as time goes on. I went on vacation recently. Out of…

All good, attack was a bit of an overstatement, but I felt I was being taken out of context and needed to clarify my stance. I agree with your statements about being entitled to your opinion. Seems a pass for anyone to be a raging *kitten* for no reason, wrong or right. If I thought everyone who disagreed with me was…

I don't disagree with the content of this. I disagree with it being attached to my opinion on something as it is assuming I disagree with all of this. I don't. It is, and will forever be - MY OPINION about being annoyed by something I consider to be nitpicking. And in spirit of this thread, it's not really fair to attack…

Fair enough

hahaha - thanks for the laugh.

I'm assuming you're referring to my use of "snowflake", I'm not a snowflake - I'm a human being. I don't melt, completely, when it's hot out. I'm also not insulting anyone. But that's the beauty of opinion's, you don't have to agree

In spirit of this post, being an opinion, I stand by my OPINION. But you do you - please be the crusader that continues to set people straight about the muscle/fat volume debate. The world will be a more educated place. I on the other hand, will continue to be annoyed every time I read a nitpicking correction of muscles…

Many have been said, but lately when people say "today is the first day of my journey" or "I'm starting my journey over today" aka journey... idk why but it seriously makes me cringe. It drives me nuts when people correct someone for saying "muscle weighs more than fat", nitpicking semantics... we understood what they…

Kale. Kale can whither and die a slow painful death under the sun, for all I care.

I take a similar approach, but do a set amount of reps. Once the weight feels easier and when I have no issue completing at that weight, I bump it up. Some days it's heck to get the reps in, other days it's easy, but once I'm consistent it's time to bump up again.

You're right. But in spirit of the debate, if insurance companies are going to charge more for obese people - they need to offer a supplement to help them stay healthy. In a perfect world healthcare would have nothing to do from weight related health issues. And I do those things for myself because I do care about myself,…

If health companies really cared about it's subscribers, they would make sure you have all the tools to be healthy. Such as paying for gym memberships, etc.

I'm confused... is this meant to be sarcastic? It seems odd that one person is able to pinpoint what the rest of the masses need to do to lose the specified amount of weight.
-
No, as many have said - where do you draw the line? The government is going to demand you control the way you look? Force you to get body scans and tests done? That's a little too big brother for me. If anything, you should be rewarded for being at a healthy weight. Not penalized for being at an unhealthy weight. The…

It does not work for weight loss. It could have some digestion benefits, but that's about it. http://www.everydayhealth.com/diet-nutrition/apple-cider-vinegar-myth.aspx

http://www.everydayhealth.com/diet-nutrition/apple-cider-vinegar-myth.aspx Unfortunately, a myth. Good ole eating less and moving more is the key for weight loss while being in a calorie deficit.
-
Of course. I think it's normal to hit a stall. Right now, I just power through them. I know that's not much help to you - but my end goals are stronger than my moment of weakness. Maybe take diet break and just eat at maintenance for a while until you feel like you can get back to a deficit. 6 months from now, you'll…

bodyrock.tv is pretty good. They post on fb regularly and have real time workouts you can recall.

Get your distance up first. Once you can run 2 miles comfortably, start chipping at the time. Do intervals or fartleks. Fartleks are a little more flexible as you can just pick objects to increase speed to vs. set time and different intensity. Plus, they are more fun IMHO. At first pick a telephone pole to increase your…
