Curious if OP is going to come back or not. Thread backfire?

This is a good thread about logging accuracy: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10348650/cico-still-skeptical-come-inside-for-a-meticulous-log-that-proves-it/p1

In theory, yes this would be accurate. Assuming your logging your calories and burn accurately. However, as the above poster said - everyday is different. If you do exactly the same thing everyday for those 5 weeks, and everything is logged accurately, that should be your result.

My s.o. eats candy like this sometimes. But he's a 6 foot 4 giant and can't be bothered with normal people tendencies.. Just kidding. He can eat whatever he wants, so the need to savor doesn't exist for him. I can't judge too hard.. I like taking a bite out of chocolates and putting them back. I can't help it! I love…

I LOVE lean cuisines. It's like a taste of comfort food, everyday!! I usually ate it with a 120 calorie salad. Now that it's getting warmer, I haven't been eating them. But man, there's a special place in my heart for lean cuisines. If you are worried about sodium - drink lot of water to offset it. mmmmm Salisbury Steak,…

I have a vivosmart HR+ and I LOVE it. When I was in the market for a fitness tracker, I researched and read reviews for both VSHR and Fitbit - whatever the equivalent model is.. I forget at the moment. 2 of the biggest criticisms for both: Garmin - not as attractive, Fitbit - not as accurate if you workout with high…

Yay for Chicago! I've ran it twice. Not looking to run a marathon until next year and hoping to BQ the year after. I should find some half to run. Might just train through this year and race next.
-
Qualify for Boston Marathon in 2 years. It'll take me from now until next year to even come close - most likely. I like setting mini goals, but I'm a numbers person ... so they are all numbers haha.

I asked my friend what the point of the injections were, and he said it makes weightless go faster, as well as an appetite suppressant. I believe he got this from a dr. or some other "professional"
-
I had a friend who did this like 2 or 3 times now. He dropped weight quick, then gained it back - plus some. He did the injections, ate an extremely strict diet of basically boiled chicken and rice/veggie and that's it. It's expensive and short lived as it's next to impossible to eat this way forever, and unhealthy. I'm…

OP - I'm not a fan of being out the door early in the morning, but I realized I can't make excuses if I wake up and go vs. wait all day and run after work. I faked it until I made it. I set my automatic coffee maker to start at 6am, drink a cup - then go. Now I live by my morning workouts, and get super cranky if I can't..…

If you're in a busy gym - do a set consecutively. That way you don't have to wait or mess up your circuit if someone jumped on a machine you were using. If your gym is quieter and it won't be bothersome to be hogging a row of machines for a circuit - do that if you prefer. As others have said, it depends on your goal. I…

That's normal, at least for me. I think when running is in your blood, it's hard for your brain not to understand your body. As someone who's had a love hate relationship, being a life time runner - I get it. After a "break" it was hard to stomach I can't run as fast or as far as I used to. I'd take a leisurely stroll…

haha, idk why - but that GIF kills me. I was totally kidding by the way.

I'd be careful about changing your form. Changing your strike will create more issues if done improperly. Use that as a last resort if all else fails. Go to a dedicated running shoe store and ask them to fit you with shoes based on your strike - pronation, supination, neutral.. etc. Just be sure to tell them if you're…
-
I was going to ask the same thing. If your calf is super tight, you may need to A. stretch it, B. strengthen it, C. massage it. D. all of the above. If your achilles is tight, you'll need to stretch it and do exercises to help loosen it.

I HATE cardio. I think it's boring. It's tedious and mind-numbing. When I'm doing cardio, I think of everywhere else I would rather be - work, home, obgyn, deposition, eating kale, praying to the porcelain gods... you get my point. However, my definition of cardio is machine/stationary cardio I do at my gym. I'm a long…

GASP - adding things to coffee??? Bleck. I do enjoy cream on occasion or skim milk in an iced coffee - but if you come near my coffee with sugar, I might bite you. OP - the sugar free creamers (coffee mate, international delight) are actually, pretty good. Artificial sweeteners get a bad rap because someone woke up and…

I might have to try this with chocolate chip cookies. Baked goods are my kryptonite. I feel like someone just told me pigs can fly, I'm a little too excited about this way over due, epiphany/realization/duh moment. OP, I've been following this thread since you first created it. I've learned a lot. Around this same time,…

It has, literally, never crossed my mind to buy artificial sweeteners to bake with. Can you tell a difference if you were to make cookies using an artificial sweetener? I have no aversions to them... just never thought of it. Every great now and then I get a headache from diet coke from the bottle, but I think that's diet…

2nd this. If I've taken a break from riding, it'll take my rear end a week or so to get used to it. Once you're used to it... you're good. Gloves are a good idea if you're going for longer rides. Palms of your hand can get sore from either rubbing when changing/breaking or just leaning on them.

Just keep an eye on it. It could just be some of your shoes support/cushion pushing in the "right" spot to cause this. It could be how your foot strikes, etc. If it feels like you are having lasting pain after, a dull pain increasing, get it checked out.
-
This happens to me, but I have terrible blood flow in my feet - had a fractured bone removed because it was deteriorating from lack of blood flow. Ick. Hopefully, the shoe tying helps - if not you may want to get it checked out to make sure it isn't something worse. Did this just start?

I love drinking too. I've cut it out during the week but partake on the weekends. Usually, vodka soda or whiskey diet (top shelf, because why not!) or mich ultra or coors. Though, a bottle of champagne is only 500 calories, and is more than enough. I run long on the weekends and make it fit. I decided once I hit my next…

Sometimes I lift in the morning and run at night. Sometimes I run on the treadmill after lifting in the morning. If I run at night it's usually due to leg day in the morning or it'll be nicer by time I get off work. If I'm feeling extra fidgety, I'll do a quick 2 mile before dinner to mellow out. There is no real benefit…

Trust the process that's working for you. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I just found at Jewel, Soliel water by refreshen and it tastes identical to la croix! At least the grapefruit. It's also a dollar cheaper for those interested.
-
It looks like it could be bleached from sun? I probably would taste it out of curiosity... haha.

Gale, I feel like a review of the original post might help clear up some of your confusion. As it's been stated over and over, CICO is an equation, not a tool. It exists whether you think it does or doesn't. There might be a million factors that influence each individual, but that was not the point of the post. The point…
