  • I set both. It's easier to look at something if it's broken down into smaller segments. If you're worried you'll be confused - write them down, keep them organized that way. It's pretty accomplishing meeting any goal, keeps you motivated/focused for the big goal at the end.
  • That's so sad. People suck. I thought I wanted to move to FL, maybe rethinking.
  • I finally tried them as well. I LOVE everything Reeses. Reeses pieces are my favorite right under Reeses. You put those together ::head explosion:: I also love mini eggs, cadbury, the sugar coated chocolate ones. Right now my snack drawer is on point.
  • I don't really meal prep to be honest. But I usually eat the same thing every lunch and plan my weekly dinners out on the weekend (still making it each night). Maybe, having the same lunch meal every day will help? Same as meal prep in theory, but not making it in advanced? Work spread out vs. all at once? Probably isn't…
  • I have a similar issue, because my waist is much smaller than my bottom half. Once I start sweating, the problem corrects itself. So maybe give it another shot if you already paid the money for them. This also happens when your workout tights are starting to get too large. Sweat will stretch their life just a little…
  • I'm failing to see how people who have lost weight and are successfully doing so and/or maintaining are not holding themselves accountable. Just because I have whatever I want, fitting in my calorie goals - I'm not being accountable? I'm pretty sure those hours at the gym and hundreds of miles I'm running are holding me…
  • This ^ - he's got many levels from novice to advanced. It'll give you an idea of what you could be at in however many weeks by looking at the training program. He also has a plethora of info on his pages too. Great tool.
  • hahahaha - great description. I'll have to remember that next time I taste something vile... then again, maybe it's only liquorish that tastes like Satan's butt sweat. LOL stay tuned.
  • Be careful using the word "cheat" around here, you might get some people giving you friction for it. People can associate it to an unhealthy relationship with food, etc. Just define what you mean. That being said, I have days where I don't track a meal or I eat whatever I want and track it. Depends on what mental/emotional…
  • It depends on the flavor I think. We had a random 80 degree day here in Chicago. I bought a few pints. By time I got home, after having stopped at the bank first, they were starting to melt. They actually lost volume because of that... ? I'm assuming it's whipped with air? But I thought the flavors I got tasted different…
  • Think about it this way: If you're new to MFP, you have a lot of weight to lose, you still think you have to be overly restrictive and essentially miserable. You will likely give up for the millionth time, because it seems like it's impossible. But before you make that decision to quit, again... you decide to dive into the…
  • Kale... ewwww
  • I realllyyyy like EAS Whey chocolate and vanilla. Both taste excellent IMO
  • You do not have to log any exercise calories. You are able to use it just for food, however, it is important to eat back some of your exercise calories.
  • I usually don't eat breakfast either, but I felt like eating a little before my run. I had 2 egg whites with a tsp of pesto and a 1/2 cup of 2% cottage cheese with pepper. Oh and coffee. Egg whites with a various buffalo wild wings sauce, is pretty much my favorite thing ever. I don't recommend the pesto - it wasn't as…
  • I grew up in a very small town, we lived in the country... tractors are a regular mode of transportation. I have a strong affection for Coors Light. I have no shame in admitting this - my family always stood around after farming in the fields all day sharing a Coors. Bud light is evil
  • Are you talking about cardio machine or a strength machine? I'd recommend visiting a gym on a free trial and using some of the equipment there - you'll find out first hand what you do and don't enjoy. As for weight loss, make sure you're eating less calories than you are burning. You don't need any machine to lose weight.…
  • hahaha - this made me LOL at work. haha
  • I used to be a collegiate athlete, at the tale end of that career, I had 5 broken bones in my left food from running. Ended up being career ending, I had to have one surgically removed. It's not fun. I'm glad you've never had that experience... it's ugly. I think something would start growing on the bottom of my feet if I…
  • I used to swear by Nike, then they started changing each version DRASTICALLY - to the point, the skeleton was different. I fell in love with Humara trail shoes back in the day, after 3 or 4 models/versions, I had to give up on them. I'm fairly new to Asics - right now I'm on my 2nd pair of GT 2000's. These newer ones are…
  • I read all 8 pages. I appreciate the conclusion/understanding. I personally eat a nutritious diet. As many have said, my diet has slowly morphed into a much more wholesome and nutrient dense diet. I definitely indulge and enjoy my processed foods, but I eat minimal now, by default. If I don't have a salad or pita for…
  • This ^ Those pounds add up FAST. You'll find yourself in a routine, a few months have gone by and you're already over 10lb lost!! That's about 1/4 of your weight you're looking to lose. Not too shabby at all.
  • Same, I like my friends updates so it'll give them a notification and keep them logging/exercising etc. But, I don't think it's rude if you don't. I don't always do it, I only do it if they haven't exercised or tracked food for a while.
  • Your muscles and ligaments could be extremely tight before you warm them up. Maybe try walking at a brisk pace, do some stretches, and then start running. Depending on where I am in training, I have IT band issues. I also have arthritis in my back from my competitive days - I have to take extra care to warm them up. Until…
  • I've felt the same as you, and have done the same. When I'd start out after a hiatus, I'd just force myself to go. It's rough for like 2 weeks, then it becomes routine. Now, I love going. I look forward to my workouts. I plan them ahead of time, set my coffee maker to go off the time I need to be waking up, and go. Find…
  • My point as well. Thanks for articulating that better than I could in the moment.
  • "Slow Clap" I'm glad you're able to find some humor in this day, I hope it continues for you. Cheers!
  • No way. It's definitely not gym etiquette to just wait, aimlessly. Especially, depending on the machine. Many people who workout have a specific order of exercises that need to be done, you can't just expect someone to gingerly wait for you. I have no issue if people asking me how much longer, and I'm happy to let people…
  • I appreciate your rebuttal that I am, in fact, the one missing the point; however, I'm well aware what the point of this thread was. You are holding strong to your argument that spot reduction can happen with "compounds". My response was, spot reduction cannot happen with things readily available to us or without extreme…
  • Curious as well? I've broken plenty of bones running with shoes on. I don't care for the DREADmill. But it's the lessor of two evils, for me, when compared to other cardio machines. I prefer running outside. Feels better on my body. You use more/different muscles running outside since your pushing for power vs moving to…
