Glad you mentally overcame the doubt and negativity and learned to see and appreciate your true self. I used to be really self-conscious as a skinny, weak teenager and weightlifting helped improve my confidence and self-image.

I never set pre-maintenance weight goals. Although I do consider theoretical values, I let the mirror and my eyes decide.
-
Yes, mam! Although this isn't my longest bulk, I am ready to be done with it.

Sometimes when people have mental disorders and negative self image they falsely interpret others interactions and conversations. The guy could have said she had curves as a compliment and she ran off crying thinking he considered her fat as a pig.

You look great. I've been on a prolonged bulk for about 8 months because I ate at near maintenance too often after not meeting the planned frequency of training each muscle group twice a week. I began at 163 lbs and am now 189. My abs and obliques sent me a greeting card recently saying they miss the sun.

Weighing as little as 78 lbs and walking daily for over 10 miles a day with your mindset doesn't seem too healthy. Also, why does your profile state you are 35 yrs old when you are supposedly 28? If this isn't a troll post, you may want to consider help to address the various issues you seem to have which is negatively…

It can be confusing because people often apply different definitions for certain words. A person can be both thin and curvy, though, depending on meaning and context. A curvilinear aesthetic, to me, is simply defined by a sloping silhouette between points A and B somewhere along the body; the curvature itself can be due to…

It doesn't matter if the resistance mode is machine or free-weight. What matters are the variable ranges you set for training frequency, volume and intensity. Years ago I posted a comprehensive research review which examined the dose-result relationship between varying degrees of training frequency, volume and intensity…

Curves & camel toe for me.

I would have taken 1 cookie, thanked her, ate it and went about the rest of the week.

1. Grunt loudly as you exercise. 2. Walk in with a gallon water jug. 3. Continue to wear forbidden clothing like tank tops. 4. Pretty much act like a "bro" and your membership will be terminated.

Your username sounds familiar. Anyway, I'm assuming you meant grams instead of mg. It's going to be very difficult to induce muscular hypertrophy with an intake of only 50 grams of protein, though, considering the limited equipment you have.

I typically drink 2 glasses of whole milk a day (by itself and with a protein shake) along with a serving of whole fat Greek yogurt. Love it.

It would be near impossible to set an upper limit due to the satiety level of protein alone especially with a liquid diet of 100% protein to avoid even the slightest influence from other macros.

The bookmarked website I used which was home to the full research review is no longer available but here is a caption of the important table defining variables for optimal gains in lean mass. Read the first and second columns as they are geared towards absolute novices and intermediate lifters. Source: The influence on…

This all depends on where you are weight/lean mass-wise and if the therapist believes you've replaced all the physical mass you lost. There is a saying: "The mind can only recover after the body does." That is to say recovery is a two step process and you must recover all your weight before the adaptations of the brain can…

Old thread being necrod, but I want to share my input... It doesn't seem plausible for the OP to be "gaining" fat mass when experiencing an increase in body weight with 1500 calories. Imagine your body is a "scale." When one supplies enough energy to maintain, you are placing x lbs/kgs of weight in your body daily in the…

Some people may not be familiar with MFP's system of eating back exercise calories which, with this explanation, seems the case. If your goal is to increase lean mass when done, then it makes sense to adhere to a small deficit to lose the final 1-2 kg. Thus 1500 calories may be reasonable if you require 2000 calories to…

http://www.weightrainer.net/weight_loss.html Using that site, and entering 132 lbs, 26%/20% starting/goal bf and an expected 15% loss of lean body mass, your goal weight would be 120 lbs (55.5 kg). This would be reasonable assuming your bf estimate is accurate and would require a loss of approximately 12 lbs (5.5 kg). With…

If you told her in advance the foods you cannot eat and she included them anyway and prescribed a 1000 to 1100 daily allotment, it's likely she is giving out the same cookie cutter diet to everyone. I am guessing she isn't even a licensed and registered dietician. If she isn't, she legally shouldn't be prescribing you meal…

What motivated you to go on this "diet" to begin with? And why do you need to lose weight in the first place, especially considering you are 119 lbs and in a healthy weight range? I am guessing you are a college athlete since you mentioned uni and sports. With that being said, you certainly need to fuel your body or else…

After my last bulk two years ago, I am about to start my next one.

Just be scientific about your approach. Know what your maintenance needs are now and increase calories sufficiently but not excessively - you do not wish to commit to a larger than needed surplus or you'll gain "extra" fat without the "extra" muscle. Most importantly, be consistent in two areas: accurately weigh and log…

You can check into Relentless and Barbell jeans. Both are stretch-denim and made for curvy, female and male athletes. The Barbell site has lots of customer feedback with photos and testimonies including this one.

Yes. Last week they sent out an email that went to everyone on their mailing list rather than just the beta testers. So they had to come "clean" and make the new formula announcement. Hopefully the bars will be better although I bake my own protein cookies now.

Intentionally atrophying lean mass (muscle, connective tissue and bone) in someone such as yourself is unwise and will likely compromise your health, mobility and quality of life in the future. Do you know why elderly persons fall and sometimes break their hips? It's because they lost a significant amount of lean mass from…

The amount of fat mass that can be oxidized in 24 hours is dependent on total fat mass. Thus, as fat mass reduces, the rate of fat loss diminishes. A limit on the energy transfer rate from the human fat store in hypophagia. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15615615 Along with this comes a smaller margin of error when…
