And THAT, right there is a huge red flag, IMHO! :noway: Learn how to eat right for your own body in the first place, people!

Sweet potatoes aren't a grain, but they are a starch...I wonder if that's the connection they are trying to make? Advocare is set up where you can buy from a distributor, or you can set yourself up as a distributor to save 40% off your own purchases. (Yes, I've spent a lot of time listening to my Advocare-selling friend's…

I have a friend that sells it and swears by it. I will choose to steer clear of it because the whole regimen is supplements, chemicals, and artificial sweeteners I did do a little reading on their website to see "what's in that stuff" when he started selling it because I was curious. But this is my personal decision, mind…

Great job! Your hard work and dedication to yourself has paid off, and thank you so much for sharing with all of us!

I have shredded lots of belly fat cutting out starches; wheat, rice, corn, potatoes, beans, etc. I thought I would D-I-E without my pasta, rice, bread and so on. A year later and I could care less whether I eat them or not. I also opt to avoid "low fat" items as many of them use hidden starches are fillers and thickeners.…

Work days = protein shake. (In blender: 1C unsweetened coconut milk, 1 scoop Now Sports 100% whey protein powder (unflavored, no additives), 1T chia seeds, 1T stevia in the raw, dash of cinnamon, 5 frozen strawberries.) You can mix up the fruit to change things up. i sometimes use peaches, pineapple,…

Maybe try a layered salad? Lettuce on bottom, a layer of grilled or baked shredded chicken (seasoned with low sodium taco seasoning), a layer of maybe kidney or black beans, a layer of sliced mini sweet peppers (I get them in a bag; red/yellow/orange), a thin layer of finely grated low-fat cheddar cheese. Definitely bring…

The protein will help you build lean muscle (as long as it's lean/clean protein) which will help you drop those last few pounds/inches. I'd say at this point you are probably quite slim, yes? It's more a matter of adding lean muscle for that definition. Congratulations on loving your fruits & veg, but don't be afraid of…

190.8 on June 16, 2011. 136.4 today. Goal is 120, but I'm only 5'3" and 46 years old. More interested in clothing fitting well and my body being fit & healthy than what the scale says at this point! Oh, and keeping the weight off!

For real...

I do well limiting myself 2 servings of lower sugar fruit a day. I love my Costco frozen strawberries (6 of them!) in my breakfast protein shakes on work mornings. YUMMO! It's interesting how everyone's bodies react differently to different things. For me, it's sugar and starch. If I keep those 2 things in check, I am…

You are gorgeous, and HOORAY for you! Look at you melt away! Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your journey.

Oh, and I also guarantee you that I have logged my share of 6,000 calorie days in my lifetime. I will NEVER judge you...just really hoping you find what works best for you and your body/lifestyle. We're all on our own individual journies and come here to support each other. Anyone that is tearing you down...you don't need…

I only looked a few days, but here are my initial thoughts: Cut fruit down to 2 servings/day - choose low sugar fruits (google it for lots of online info) Cut cheese down to 1 serving/day Cut nut servings down to 1/day (peanut butter included, it's delicious but also high in fat) Cut starches…

I will say this...it doesn't matter how much you weigh to love yourself. Clearly you love yourself enough to give MFP a try and reach out for suggestions and advice - give yourself a lot of credit for that! :flowerforyou: The suggestions and advice you've gotten here already are a fantastic place to start! Truly, truly,…

Hallelujah! Starches just "stick around" too much and end up weighing down that scale!

Thanks for sharing your story. You look fabulous, and certainly have reason to smile in all your pictures! All that commitment produced rockin' results! Way to go!

What a difference! Congratulations on the 50#, and good luck with the balance of what you want to lose! Awesome!

Thanks for sharing your progress photos! You are definitely kicking butt! How do you feel now? I bet A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Try planning at first since you're starting from scratch, then if it's working you'll be able to better "wing it" later! Good luck!

Hi there! You mentioned that you don't want to deviate too much from what you usually eat, and I get that. Definitely cut back on the highly processed and starchy carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes, rice) and add in lots of healthy vegetables and lean protein. If you like eggs for breakfast sometimes, try cooking up some…

How old are you? 46 How much have you lost? 50+ How long did it take you to lose the weight (and/or issues/attitudes that kept you overweight/obese)? I'm still losing, and I started my journey in June 2011. How long have you kept it off? It's a daily effort, but I've been going in stages. I lose some weight, then maintain…

I believe that your desire to lose weight puts "them" out of their comfort zone, and keeping things the same just makes them more comfortable. Change is hard, especially when you have no control over it - lol! People here have given great suggestions; figure out which feels best for you and go with it! I generally keep my…

You really do look amazing! Beautiful in both photos, but the difference is quite striking. Congratulations to you, and thank you so much for sharing!

If you don't have something nice to say...doesn't the golden rule apply to the internet as well? IMHO I agree - zip it if you can't be helpful or productive.

Quick workday breakfast: In a blender - 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk or almond milk, 1T chia seeds, 1 scoop "Now Sports" oure whey protein (no flavorings, no additives), 1 or 2t granulated stevia. Then I'll add frozen strawberries, or frozen banana & 1T almond buttter - sometimes unsweetened cocoa for a "Chocolate…

We indulge in Zevia and Blue Sky in my house when there's a craving for a soda. Love that they are sweetened with Stevia. Daughter gets headaches from artificial sweeteners, and I just won't allow them (or excessive sugar consumption via a beverage) in my home. We also drink soda water with lime if there is a bubble desire…

I started my weight loss journey in June 2011. One year later and I feel like I'm in the final countdown with less than 20# to reach my goal. Currently in a size 4 pants (from a tight 16) and I'm thrilled! It's almost more about getting fit for me now than the weight. If I like what i see in the mirror, then the weight…
