Do you have an iPhone? I use the lolo treadmill app. You set the duration, intensity, walk/job/combo and it does the workout. It's intreval based so you'll walk for a while at zero incline at 3MPH, then kick it up to a higher MPH or do a short burst at an incline of 7. You get the idea. I like it. I am sure there are…

I could have written a lot of what I have read here! I have entire wardrobes in like 3 different sizes. Ugh!! I'm trying to be more realistic this time: smaller, mini-goals, good but not extreme eating/exercising, etc. This should serve me as I lose this time..the last time! Good luck to you!

I was going to say I budget for a snack, but I may take up the beer and the shot idea instead. I know a few of my coworkers would join me! Ha!

Very inspiring! Thanks for sharing with us!

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/794801-i-m-confused-on-food-intake-exercise-calories I just read some really good answers to this question here. Check it out.

I really like my fitbit. I use this site to track food, weight, etc., and fitbit syncs with this site to get my steps in. For me it just made me conscious of how sedentary I was. Now I am more aware of my need to move. Maybe someone who is using BodyMedia will post because I am just curious!

I'm so glad I'm friends with people starting out just like me. I had the same question and the answers were very helpful.

I was the same as you, I don't normally eat too unhealthy, but my portion size was out of control!!! Now, even if I have a bad day I am committed to tracking it. Depression is a *****. Hopefully just taking control and taking steps to get healthy will help you even before the scale starts to move! Good luck!!!

Well, I've never done anything obscene for a sugar packet (ahem, Fire_Rock), but I have been reading a lot about sugar and it's effects lately. Sugar Busters, the Sugar Solution, etc. All make me think I am addicted to sugar as well. I could probably give up anything else!! I recently saw a plan somewhere of how you give…

Ah, you may miss it a bit, but you won't miss all of the negatives! And, the peace of mind you gain will be priceless! Good for you!!

Thank you for asking this. The first time I tried I started it, finished watching it sitting on the couch, and never did it again. I am going to dust it off and start tomorrow (11/13/12). I sent you a friend request, we can update each other. Anyone else want in?? Would be perfect to lose a few/tone up BEFORE Christmas/New…

Welcome back! I just re-started yesterday so we're on the same page! Good luck!

No guilt! It's done, no need to beat yourself up. Have a regular day today, just make sure you drink lots of water!! You may need to rehydrate. ;)

I have the FitBit Ultra so I still sync with my computer, but it seems to update almost immediately with MFP.
-
Question: I feel dumb asking this, but so far my exercise has been limited to my FitBit sync. Someone above said how many calories they burned doing the 30-day shred. I went to the exercises, but didn't come up with anything in the database. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!

Being on here will give you interaction! Do you have a local Y or some other gym or organization where you could exercise while they provided day care? Might be a way to get out and lose weight at the same time. When my son was little I was broke so we just mall walked (no shopping). Good luck!!

I so agree with the "small changes"! I know sometimes I try and go from 0 to 100, so to speak, and then can't maintain that level so I quit. This time I am making a few small changes a week and building on that. It's a marathon not a sprint! ;)

I feel your pain. I am back on here after doing the whole start/stop/start thing. My thoughts: starting over before the holidays will be hard, but (1) if I can make it past Thanksgiving dinner, pies, Christmas candy, etc. then I can make it through anything and (2) instead of starting a New Year's resolution I will already…

Hey Cindy, welcome! I've been around awhile, but honestly just "really" started recently, if you know what I mean! I definitely want to stay motivated through the holidays and beyond!

Welcome! I've been around for awhile, but just started interacting on the boards. The people have been awesome!

I am wondering how much weight I have lost in my life? Yo-yo doesn't even begin to cover it!! I have almost 90 pounds to go this time, but this time is the LAST time. I want to focus my thoughts on something else besides being uncomfortable, embarrassed, etc. Always looking for friends, so open to requests from all. Good…

Ugh! I had ACL surgery last Fall. Not fun. Just keep trying to eat as healthy as possible. Diet will be your key right now. You can still do stretches and other basic exercises like that to keep your muscles moving. Usually the PT will let you ride a bike sooner than anything so as soon as you get ok'd, hit the bike! Good…

It does! Have fun watching it move! Good luck!

Jill - I am older than you. My son is in college (so I should be getting enough sleep). But I definitely could relate to most of your post. Good luck to you! I truly believe that the its not diet or exercise, but a healthy attitude that you have to conquer first! Feel free to add me as a friend!

Thanks for sharing! That is awesome!
-
Well, please don't cry! I agree with the comments so far. Just keep eating as healthy as possible. In fact, you may research and find some other types of exerices you don't normally do. So, you may actually totally benefit from this "setback". Good luck!!

I am 5'6" as well. I am at 224 now and think 145 is a realistic goal for me. Good thing about a goal is that it is flexible. I may get close and feel I have more to go. However, right now I just have a mini-goal of being below 200!

In a nutshell: my health. I am lucky enough to gave good blood sugar and blood pressure and want to keep it that way, but I suffer from multiple times a week migraines that I think eating better may reduce (fingers crossed), and my legs, feet, back, etc. are revolting after carrying too much weight. Then again, I am not…

Thanks for the responses! I have a skinny husband, whom I love, but.. ha! He is supportive, but I think having MFP friends may be more effective for my goals!! =) Also, the holiday idea of getting up off of the couch and taking a walk sound good and gets the family out from in front of the TV. I actually like football, but…
