Yes, the new details change things FOR SURE. IMHO, get out of the relationship, and fast. You deserve better, and a man who respects you, and your relationship, not a man who is viewing porn with an ex-girlfriend! :noway:

Don't let it affect your self esteem :flowerforyou: Could some men weigh in here? What IS the deal!?!?!?!?!
-
I am NOT a proponent of weighing daily, or even weekly for that matter. Weight fluctuates, whether we like it or not, for many reasons, including fluids in the intestines, fluids in cells (think muscles after a workout), additional bloat from salt, accumulated waste, etc. It is doubtful that you've gained a pound of muscle…

I voted too - she has over 400 votes!!! The rest of the kids only have like 30 votes! I think you have this in the bag! Very cute.... creative use of Honey Comb cereal! :flowerforyou:

If you've already been working out, you can continue to workout. Be careful of pushing your heart too far, or of overheating your core temperature. If you have a BMI that is under 25, it is recommended by the Canadian Society of OB/GYN's that you gain 20-40 lbs. If you have a starting BMI of over 25, it is recommended to…

This will work!!! This will be the time you do it. I've started a million diets. Almost every Monday of my adult life, I started a new diet, and by the weekend I would quit. This changed with My Fitness Pal. You just do it. You just enter your calories, and fit some exercise in, and take it one day at a time. And it works.…

I personally need my system clear of food before running IF it is a speed run - I avoid eating at least 2 hours before the run, but light carbs in that meal gives me great power. If it is an endurance run, and I'm going at a slower heart rate, I find that food does not bother me either way, and in fact, if I have not eaten…

No, you are right, as we've discussed in this thread, the 6000 calories takes into account their BMR (the calories burned for basic functioning during waking and sleeping hours), their daily activites (walking around the ranch, cleaning, etc), and their gym sessions. E.g. BMR 2500 + Daily Acitivites 800 + Working Out 2700…

Welcome! You CAN do it, and you WILL do it! This is it - just do it, right? You've made the committment and you will follow through. I started MFP because someone asked me why I hadn't lost the weight, and other than excuses, I really didn't have an answer. And then he asked me how I accomplish everything else in my life,…

Hahaha - I vote ALL THE WAY for "smash it"!!! You've been a really successful loser, and I am on my way to losing all my weight (I did peek at the scale at the gym, and I was right on track with what MFP said I would lose in 12 weeks according to my calorie allotments) and I think that getting hung up on the numbers can…
-
YES! I LOVE this advice! My hubby hid my scale over 13 weeks ago, when I was getting obsessed with it! I have not cheated, or strayed from this program in 13 weeks - and the tape measure tells the whole story! My measurements have gone from 39-31-41 to 37-27-38, and I've gone from wearing a size 10 to a size 6. In 13…

My only word of caution on this would be that if you enter something the program does not recognize, it will STILL calculate the recipe, but will flag the missing inredient, which for the first little while I did not notice. Other than missing the little flag, I have found the recipes to be perfectly accurate.…

I was also thinking that someone who is 300lbs is basically carrying an extra person around ALL DAY. Imagine piggy backing your friend around all day - that will burn some extra calories - and eventually do some serious damage to your system, joints, etc.
-
Glad this was helpful - I LOVE this tool! For me, it was a real eye opener as to the perils of "estimating". :flowerforyou:
-
Another thing to keep in mind about buring 6000 calories, is that at 300 lbs, one's BMR would be close to 3500 calories alone - so that is only adding 2500 calories of exerise, which could be acheived in a few hours of work daily. I'm not saying I think it is healthy, but it is something I kept in mind when my eyes bugged…

It's been said here before, but I'll say it again.... Ab Ripper X I've done almost every core (abdonimal, oblique, lower back) routine there is - Abs of Steel, Windsor Pilates, Ab Classes at the gym, crunches, left lifts, etc, and it's true - Ab Ripper X is pretty killer. It is challenging, so instead of doing 500…

http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php This link, is BY FAR, my favourite for calculating recipes. You literally just type in the ingredients, and it will figure it all out! I hope you find it helpful! :flowerforyou: Betty

Thanks, and thanks to everyone for responding. My friend who is a physician just e-mailed me this morning and said not to do it - she's the third doc to say no. So that is that.

I know myself, I should not stress my heart and lungs this Sunday - it is Wednesday and I can barely breathe. I just never get sick - so I am irritated that this had to happen now. There seems to be a race every month in Toronto, so I will do the next one. Just a hard pill to swallow! Thanks.
-
Yep, I'm on antibiotics and two inhalers - Ventolin and Flovent. Who am I kidding - I can barely breathe here. I was hoping to have a great recovery by Sunday. :ohwell: :grumble: Thanks for the advice ladies.
-
Thanks for the sympathy Leash! It SUCKS though, as I've been training all summer for this! I always heard that if is it above the neck, then run, but if the illness is below the neck (lungs or intestinal) then don't. I just thought that if I was feeling better by Sunday, I would be in the clear, but the doctor says I could…

Congrats on the success! :flowerforyou:

Um - it is not harder, just different. I think that her Shred for example, could be a beginner workout, while P90X is definitely NOT for beginners! It is an intense workout for sure. Try it - you will proably love it! I followed the Shred & Making the Cut for the first 12 weeks on here, and lost around 18 lbs in that time.…

I think you may have hit the nail on the head.... think of how far out your abdominal area was stretched at the end of your pregnancy. Often, women who have twins, have difficulty with skin retraction. It might not be fat at all (your profile pic looks quite svelt). A friend of mine had twins, while I had a singleton…

Not to be a downer, but... I think even 2lbs a week is pretty aggressive for someone your size. You don't want to slow your metabolism down, in which case you could end up not losing the weight, AND have a slower metabolism! I've had two babies, so I know how the stomach needs a little extra kick to get back to being flat…

Thanks for the nice words ladies! We will ALL reach our goals! :flowerforyou:

You will do it!!! I started here on MFP, 13 weeks ago, at 168.5 lbs, or a size 12 (I'm 5'8" tall) and now I am 148 lbs (20 lbs lost!!) and a size 8 in juniors, and a size 6 in women's (e.g. The Gap)! I'm down to 38-27-39! It is so exciting! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! I thought I would just be a "bigger girl" for my whole life, but…

Ohhh - you and hubby will LOVE P90X! Hubby and I do it together some nights, and it's awesome - a great workout! :flowerforyou:

I have the book, and I do those workout idea sometimes, and it is great! I am doing P90X - which has some similar moves, and a very similar diet plan. Are you following the diet plan? Betty

I think of it as inexpensive meal! No? Even at $5 per box, if you get 5 servings out of it (which you would most likely get more than that), that's good value in my estimation - approx. $1 per serving. For brekky I would have cereal with skin milk and berries, and my berries are by far the expensive part! But still, my…
