They had to change the calorie count to 110 from 71, because the total calories was calculated incorrectly. If you go through and do the individual calculations for C/F/P, you will see that they did not count the fiber in the C calculation. This was misleading people into thinking that the total calorie count was lower…

It seems like the people around here are in a constant competition to see who can take the most far-right fringy ultra-conservative position in life....and then insist that the rest of us blindly follow them or else endure the social-equivalent of burning crosses on our front lawns. I can count on one hand the number of…

If this is what religion wants from us........no thank you. Not smart on two counts.....eating too little, and listening to a bunch of crusty old misogynists.

Please sign up for one of the PCOS groups on this site. I think you'll find more success filling your diet with food that does not stimulate a lot of insulin response. PCOS has a very strong link to insulin resistance and the less you stimulate insulin production, the better you'll be able to manage your symptoms. The…

Many bodybuilding experts recommend a protein level that is .80 to 1.5 times your body weight....depending on if you are trying to maintain or build muscle mass. You can work out what that number is, and then see what percent it is of your total recommended calories. For me, under this model, I eat 135 grams of protein (1…

Dave....my heart is just breaking for you right now.....but you don't need that. I can't say I sympathize or understand, because I have no idea exactly what you are feeling and going through. I can only hear the pain and worry in your post...and I feel sad that you are going through that. I also hear the determination and…

Try the Standard Tap up in Northern Liberties. I moved to Atlanta about 5 years ago from Philly, so I don't know if the ST is still there, but they had a great kitchen and great beers when I used to go there.

Like Ivana Trump said so wisely, "Looking good is the best revenge." Don't let this admittedly very upsetting event distract you from your goals. You are strong and beautiful and you will not let this get power over you! :-) Best wishes!

I've been on Metformin for 5 years now. Take the Metformin.....go low-carb.....move every day. If you are very heavy, just start with walking. There are a couple of PCOS groups here that you can join if you'd like to talk with more PCOS ladies.... Best wishes!

As a fellow PCOS sufferer, I'd say right off the bat, ditch the crumpets, sugar in your tea, and the pasta. Carbs (especially processed ones like what I saw on your list) are very unwise choices for those of us with insulin resistance and PCOS. Eat more lean protein (chicken, turkey, eggs, lean pork, etc) and fibrous…
