Workout! I am on a 1220 calorie plan but most days I get to eat 1800 due to an hour of cardio. Then follow some of the other great suggestions listed for drinking water before meals and eating more "whole" foods like vegetables and grains. Good luck, with time you won't notice the restriction as much.

Great job getting into a medium! I thought you needed medication. At least you know that if you send a SOS via MFP you will be saved!

You sound lightly active. If you don't lose anything the first month then you might want to change it to sedentary. If you put sedentary right now you may need to log each of your walks to get the burn recorded.

I've had 5 - 12oz water bottles and it's 11am here. That's why I don't bother tracking water anymore. I always go over but everyone tells me I shouldn't. I have a bottle (refillable) right after I brush my teeth in the am, a bottle while I drop my son off, one before I work out, a bottle after I work out, another one…

I'll have to give these a try. Thanks!

A piece of fruit and dry cereal (cherrios, Fiber Plus etc.) in a snack baggie. Eat the dry cereal first then snack on the fruit later.

Cool, Thanks! 1. You didn't get enough sleep last night. 2. You're taking medication that causes hunger as a side effect. 3. You're thirsty or dehydrated. 4. It's "mealtime." 5. You just worked out. 6. Not enough time has passed since you finished your meal. 7. The women around you are eating. 8. You smell or see food 9.…

My mother loves scrapbooking so we get together for big family gatherings she oftens has a new book ready. While we look back at pictures of my brother or I doing something goofy my father always laments "I can't believe your mother made me stay sober for that".

Giving the kids carrot sticks, applesauce or gram crackers in the car buys me a little time when I get home. Just take them to work with you. A croc-pot meal or soup served with a hearty bread is quick. Making our own pizzas takes about 15 minutes prep included. Most sauces for pasta or meat taste better if they sit, so…

It's usually the iron in vitamins that upset stomachs which is why most kids vitamins work for sensitive stomachs, they don't contain iron. I take my Centrum at night after dinner because most days I get all my vitamins (except iron) so I can skip it and take an Iron supplement. I just check the "nutrient summary" on MFP…

I don't think you are depressed, maybe a little lonely. Plan an extra workout or extra time to workout when he is out of town to let the endorphins life your spirits. Come up with a special hobby that you do only when he is out of town like scrapbooking, cooking new lighter foods, call/Skype friends for catch up or read a…

Put your higher calorie fruit or snacks in smaller containers. I'll break apart my grapes into three bags or put my strawberries in 2 containers so I only grab one at a time. I never plan to eat the entire container but when I do, it's not as bad. My husband has finally stopped groaning about all my containers in the…

Don't be discouraged since it seems you've done the hardest part! You've started working out more and are watching what you eat, be proud of yourself! Make sure you are logging everything you eat, even small bites while cooking or off other people's plates and the program will work. Break your major goal of lose 100 pounds…

It happens. If you are eating out just research first, add in extra cardio and skim calories off your other meals. But that's it, don't starve. Just begin again with your next meal.

It's never to late to become a dog person. Everyone has those days, look at today as a goof-off day and start tomorrow fresh.

So true how men celebrate the smallest victories. My husband gets excited if he does strength training that day. He doesn't weight to see the scale or how his clothes fit. He's just excited that he got it done. I, on the other hand, will kick myself if I can't do more weight after a few weeks or can't up my reps. In my…

I just have a word document on my desktop that I paste recipes in. I pull it up on my laptop to make the recipe. If it turns out to be a hit, I print it out and add it to my cookbook binder in the kitchen. I make almost everything from scratch so this is the only way I can keep track and not miss out on recipes.

Years ago I noticed I was the "chubbiest" girl in my step class. It took a few weeks for me to realize that I didn't miss a step and was keeping up! Be proud of yourself for being out there and getting started. That's wonderful! It takes a lot more courage for you to get to class than for the little fit folks in their…

I have a slow metabolism ( that for some strange reason can't burn off half a pecan pie).

Bump.

It can wait until morning. The scale only helps as a tracking mechanism if you do it at the same time daily.

I love salads now but I used to hate them. Heat kills many of the vitamins and nutrients in vegetables so I really wanted to eat them fresh so I thought I would have to endure a salad. My husband (vegetarian) weaned me onto them buy adding lots of salad ingredients to my lunch sandwiches, pitas and wraps. Now I don't mind…

If you are getting enough iron I wouldn't be worried about the cold. Sometimes I'm freezing after working out; other times I am hot for an hour.

If you made it in a loaf pan it should serve 8. Go measure and mark it out. Sometimes I enter all the ingredients into MFP recipe builder and then play with the serving size until I get around the calories I want.

I started at MFP to watch my sodium so my doc didn't mediate me. I went back after two months and got a clean bill of health. Making me own food has become a good side effect to this process because it was impossible to find soup and lunch meat that was low sodium and tasty. The low sodium soups were too bland. Now I make…
