Hello Everyone, Thought I better get on here and say "Merry Christmas" to all, while I had the chance. Remember a few days ago, when I said... I spoke too soon. I discovered the programming on the used CD changer was toast. When I selected "shuffle" it would always go to disk 6 and play the first track, and keep playing it…

Hello Everyone, I finally got a chance to read the last week or so of posts. Can't reply to everyone, but... Welcome newbies!!! Amanda, Congrats on reaching goal!! Chiclet-Sorry to hear about the trouble with your identity on MFP. When I searched for your original profile, it said you had deactivated it. I am wondering if…

Thanks for posting the info on the nail hardener. It is very windy here tonight (Friday), and they are predicting a little snow in the morning, but it won't last long as it will turn to rain by afternoon. Doggies are all doing fine. I am enjoying two Christmas presents to myself. I found an electric fireplace on sale for…

Hello All, Just caught up on reading..keeping very busy at the moment. BTW, Gigi and Sandy, the two of you have comments going back and forth about a nail hardener Gigi, apparently, recommended. I looked back at your posts to the beginning of Nov., but didn't see any reference to what the name of it was. Just curious as to…

Were you well-hydrated? Had you consumed a reasonable amount of protein within a few hours of your intense activity? Do you have any history of blood pressure issues? There are any number of things that could enter in to it. If it happens again, it might be time to consult your doctor.

Thank you for posting this. I needed it today.

My dad has said many of the things already posted, but the one "I'm not a man, I'm your dad!" reminded me of something my mom said to me when I was just old enough to swear and young enough to think it was "cool": "Don't swear, it sounds like h3LL!!" My mom will be 95 years young in January, and my dad just had his…

I never had any children, so I am hardly qualified to advise you, but here is something to consider. While you did gain with your previous pregnancies, and will to a certain degree with another one, you have an important tool available that you didn't have before. You found MFP, and you know more about yourself and healthy…

Faye, I can empathize with where your head is. I am dealing with things that I have never had to cope with before, and I am afraid I have dived into a sea of ginger snaps and chocolate covered peppermints on more than one occasion. It is my own fault for buying them. Take care of yourself. Barb

Hello All, Connie, your comment about Shaksuka intrigued me, so I googled to find out what it was, and found a recipe that looks pretty easy to follow. For other inquiring minds, this is a spicy dish with tomatoes and eggs. Here is a link to the recipe I found: http://smittenkitchen.com/2010/04/shakshuka/ BTW, Jeffrey,…

Barbie, Regarding your kitties" propensity for pawing at puzzles," here is an idea. Do the puzzle and when you are not working on it, put a tablecloth over it so inquiring paws can't reach it. Just a thought. Barb

You may have a sensitivity to wheat, or wheat gluten. Google your symptoms and you can find additional info.

Welcome newbies. Marie, I also like the richness of coffee creamer, so what I do is mix the unsweetened vanilla almond milk about 50/50 with non-fat half and half (Land O' Lakes brand is available at the Walmart in my area.) Connie, Glad to hear it sounds like your hubby is recovering well. Marie, you asked about goals.…

Connie, glad to hear your hubby made it through the surgery. Don't forget to take care of YOU!! One family member in the hospital is enough, right? Since the month has ended and no one had started the new thread for December, I sent a PM to Sandy and went ahead and started it. Here is the link:…

Hello, just a quick post to put the new month in my topics. Alice, It appears from your post that it is YOUR son who was featured in the camel riding story? Or am I reading something that wasn't there? If that is the case, it truly is a small world, isn't it. Barb

Just reposting the link to the December thread in case anyone misses it, since there was a post underneath it. See you there.

Hi All, Just had to share a funny that was on our 11p news tonight. A college student from New Mexico has found an unusual way of making money to help with his school expenses. He sells rides on his CAMEL!!! It seems he has had this camel as a pet for the past 11 years--says he even rides it through the drive thru of local…

Gigi, Belatedly "Happy Birthday!" I'm glad you got to spend time with your family. Jeffrey, I hope the doctor has good news for you on Wednesday. I can appreciate you not wanting to have surgery, but it sounds like it is unavoidable. I wish you well. Gayla, Sorry Neil is still having a tough time. Connie, As I recall, your…

Hello All. I finally waded through all the posts from the last time I posted until now. It took me a while. I would still be at it, but we have all been busy so not as many posts to read. Thank you to everyone for your messages of condolence for my great aunt. The piggies were very glad to see me when I got home. They had…

Hello Everyone, I finally had a chance to read up to the last post. Have been very busy. Sandy, hope your sciatic nerve troubles are over SOON!! Marie, good luck on your new eating plan and figuring out your new crockpot. Gayla, belatedly, Happy Birthday!! To everyone, Happy Thanksgiving...better late than never. I haven't…

Hello All, Thank you all for your kind words about the loss of my great aunt. I was able to re-arrange my schedule a bit by changing my haircut and the rug cleaner to earlier in the week. The doggie groomer also fit the piglets in for the same day--sure don't want them underfoot to "help" with the rug cleaning.:noway:…

Kackie,to answer your question, I use this website (free and safe-no viruses..etc.): http://www.freesmileys.org/ When you find an image you want, copy the code for it, paste it in to the post, and away you go. BTW, anytime you want to see where an image in a post came from, just use the quote button for that post and you…

Nanette, Welcome!! For me menopause was the beginning of a life without being miserable for 7 days out of 30. I had a hysterectomy in Jan 2009, and since then I have lost almost 75 lbs. I would ultimately like to lose about 50 more, but even another 25 will put me within the healthy weight range for my height, and I am…

Any size donation is appreciated these days. Food banks are hurting. Why not schedule a pantry sweep, gather up what you are not going to keep, and drop it off. It WILL be appreciated. Open packages can be passed off to friends. For myself, I have 2 friends who are in dire financial straits, so anything I want to hand off…

Barbie, Thank you for the update on Chiclet. I also have been wondering about her, but hadn't taken the time to send her a PM. If she is reading, hang in there. We are thinking of you and hoping for improvement in your mom's condition. This is the weekend for technology to make my life more difficult. My less than a year…
