If you read a lot of posts in the topics, you will find people who say 1200 is to few calories and that you won't lose weight. What I know is that I have been eating 1200 calories for 50 days, and I have lost 17 lbs. I have way more energy than I do normally and I'm never hungry. Everyone's body is different, but it's…

I somewhat made the mistake of cleaning out my closet about 2 months ago before I decided to lose my weight once and for all. I got rid of all the clothes that no longer fit me, the ones that were too small. Now all of my pants are far too big, but I don't want to buy all new pants because I am not even half way to my goal…

I have come to realize that in the morning I can almost predict which way the scale will go. Almost every morning, before I get in the shower and before I eat my breakfast, I weigh myself in my birthday suit. If I wake up feeling like I'm a little dehydrated, I know my weight will be up a little. I also know that if I…

I would join a group. I could use all the extra motivation I can get.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I know this whole thing shouldn't be bothering me, because I'm doing it for myself but I can't help it I do care because I know that it will cause me stress when I'm actually in the situation. I wish it was as simple as avoiding someone, because I would do that, but the program that I am…

I hadn't noticed this before I posted. Please don't bother to add me unless you would like to be supported in having a healthy relationship with food.

I'm between 5'6" and 5'7". You can add me! I could use some friends.

Don't call too soon. I had a guy call me an hour after our first date , freaked me right out.

I think you did absolutely the right thing. Also, you have every right to ask about the pay. Any sensible management wouldn't belittle you for asking that, it's the reason you're going to work! On another note, I can't believe they're allowed to pay that little money. The minimum wage where I live is $10.00/hour. Don't…

I have bursitis in my hip. I have had cortisone shots twice. The first time it gave me a lot of relief (2007), the second time I think the doctor missed the bursa (2008) and I had no relief at all. My pain returned eventually which is why I had the second shot and I have had pain since the shot wore off in 2008. I would…

If I have a really salty meal the day before I'm due to weigh in, I skip weighing the next day, drink lots of water and then weigh the following day. I find it makes a huge difference (2 or 3 lbs sometimes).
-
You can also add me.

The worst part about it was that it was all traditional food from where I live. There wasn't a real salad in sight! I think people should always try and give some healthy options.

Here's how I see it. I gained 48lbs in the last 6 years. I did not wake up one day and suddenly have this weight on (although sometimes it feels like it). I didn't put it on in a day, and it's not going to come off in a day. Be patient, work hard and you'll start to see the results. Be happy about every single pound you…

My rock bottom was when my dad sent me a family photo from Christmas on my birthday. I didn't realize how fat I looked until I saw it, I couldn't stop crying when I saw the picture. Initially I hid it away, but I have it hung up now. It took me a few weeks of feeling terrible to realize that I had to do something about it,…

I could be wrong, but I don't think that what she meant was that she was horrified by people who have ED, but rather how they are using a site that promotes health, in such an unhealthy way. There are many sites on the internet that are pro-ED (if you can really be pro an eating disorder, probably a better term would be…

Hello. I'm 24 and I'm also trying to shed my college weight. I gained 48lbs in university, so far I've lost 15lbs of it. You can add me as a friend if you would like. Carla

These sound like something I would like. I haven't seen them though where I live I'm assuming they'd be with drink crystals and whatnot. The pitfalls of living in the middle of nowhere.
-
The only thing I don't log is crystal light. It's got like 5-10 calories in it and I figure it's better for me to be drinking water than not. It hasn't seemed to have any effect.

How closely are you counting your calories? Are you using a scale to weigh out your food, or are you just eyeballing it? The biggest thing that helps me counting calories is my scale and it's amazing how much we over estimate portion sizes.
-
I just count my calories, I generally eat healthy but if I have calories left over at the end of the day I might have a treat with those calories. I'm not going to deprive myself of something I really want because that has never worked for me before, I just eat it in smaller portions and I am much more aware of what I'm…

I am also 5'7". I currently weigh 153lbs and my goal weight is 129. I started 5 weeks ago, and so far I've lost 12 lbs. I'm very afraid that I'm going to plateau, so I also need to figure out how to keep it going.

I notice it in my waist. But my legs seem to be the same size, makes for awkward fitting pants.
-
I always hated drinking water unless it was absolutely ice cold, so I started drinking quite a bit of crystal light as well. While I don't like aspartame aspect of it, it makes drinking water much more enjoyable for me and has made a huge difference in my hunger levels.
-
How much water do you drink? I have started drinking at least 8 cups of water a day, before I never drank anywhere near that much I think it's the first time in my life I haven't been hungry all the time.
