  • I have the worst and best of all possible scenarios...Die Hard Denver Broncos Fan (raised in CO) and living and loving my Seattle Seahawks (went to school at UW and stayed)! I know it's only preseason, but they play each other at the CLINK this Saturday! DH and I are going...should be interesting, he's about the Hawks!

  • What a great story - and I know people say this a lot, but you truly don't even look close to 40 now!!
  • Dward - I am from CO! The rest of my family is still there!
  • BtoC, m23, dward - Better fitting clothes is such a huge milestone! Choices get more and more limited the bigger you are - and for a girly-girl like me, that's a tragedy!! :-) Alana - I am so excited that we get to share your first milestone with you!! BTL - I literally spit my water out laughing when I read your Bra…

  • LOL at BM! Alana, your name is so beautiful, I think we should definitely use that! Alana, once we have our participants' names gathered, I can compile them and maybe you could edit my original post and make it sticky for reference? Cool! CC
  • You have a couple options: 1. Don't cut the recipe. Most slow cooked meals can be frozen for later! 2. Cut the recipe but add more liquid. The slow cooker releases the juices/moisture, if you don't have enough in the pot, you will have a dry/burnt meal. 3. Cut the recipe and reduce the time by 25%. Generally, especially if…
  • These are all such great ideas - thank you!!! I might have to add this to my weekly shopping list!
  • Seems that we have a theme for slow cookers now - yahoodles! @m23prime - I do always have something on the go in my crockpots! For breakfast I am usually cooking for my family on the run (oatmeal, coffee cake, fruit compote, applesauce...). The nice part about additional pots is that I leave before everyone else, so…
  • Great thread! Definitely get your slow cooker / crockpot at a Thrift Store...they always have tons to choose from around here! I have 3! So, in the spirit of discussing slow cooker meals, how about this one?! Chicken "Chili" 2 Chicken Breasts 1 c. Salsa 1 pkt. Taco Seasoning 1 can Fat Free Cream of Mushroom 1 can Black…
  • Chicken "Chili" 2 Chicken Breasts 1 c. Salsa 1 pkt. Taco Seasoning 1 can Fat Free Cream of Mushroom 1 can Black Beans 1 can Ranch Beans 1/2 c. Water Put it all in a slow crooker; cook on low all day (6 - 8 hours). Shred chicken (it will fall apart). Viola! You can eat plain in a bowl, with tortillas, in a pita, on polenta,…
  • Wow, you look great - but your quote is my absolute FAV of the day!! Sending a friend request; everyone needs a YOU in their lives!
  • Ok - here it goes... My Numbers: SW: 384.3 CW: 363.3 GW: 349 LTGW: 185 Weigh-ins: Week 1: 8/01/13 = 363.3 Week 2: 8/08/13 = Week 3: 8/15/13 = Week 4: 8/22/13 = Week 5: 8/29/13 =
  • What great reasons we all have - and I am not unlike any/all of you. I have lost and gained the same 100+ pounds since I was a little girl, just once I would like to say that those pounds are gone for good. Motivation, support, encouragement, accountability - that's what I am looking forward to from you folks...And what I…

  • Hi All! I joined this group because I would love the added support! This is the first group I have joined. I have some MFP friends, but the kudos are few and far between....and I like attention! :0) I decided to get serious about changing my life in January and haven't looked back. I started at 384 lbs and I am currently…

  • I am not sure how to start an official group on MFP - but I am willing to be the facilitator and kick all y'all's booty's...including mine! I am sure there is a trainer underneath all this extra weight!! :-) We can do weekly challenges regarding food and fitness and even roll those up to monthly challenges. I am even…
  • You should be SOOOO proud of yourself! That is a huge accomplishment that is completely worth celebrating!! Happy for you!!
  • I don't know that you ever completely lose the cravings for the foods that you like, but I think we can mitigate the potential "damage" and more importantly, guilt, from the occassional indulgence. As so many have suggested, the key is to eat them in moderation and be accountable for them. In addition to moderation and…
  • Amazing results in an amazing amount of time! You should be so proud of yourself! I have to agree with a lot of the other comments, you look several years younger now!! What a beautiful woman!
  • I noticed a couple things: 1. Your meals are very similar on a daily basis. 2. Besides protein, you tend to go over most days on sugar as well. I am wondering if this is just your body's way of looking for you to change things up and provide more variety? I know that my trainer says it's good to "shock" the body by eating…
  • LA Fitness I figure it this way, we should all be there for one of 2 purposes: 1. Stay Fit and Healthy 2. Get Fit and Healthy If that's the purpose, we all fit the gym mold! :-)
  • What a terrific success!! My husband and I are doing this together as well - it's a fun experience to "oooh & ahhh" over eachother's results! Congratulations to you both - you look fantastic!!
  • When you do the bike at the gym are you putting your weight, age, etc.? If so, then that is more accurate than MFP. I believe MFP is a generalized average (and from my experience, tends to be significantly higher than what the equipment at the gym says).
  • Wow - so many amazing accomplishments and celebrations for one day!! Congratulations - what a great feeling!!
  • Wow!! Congratulations! There is definitely a big change - you should be so proud of yourself!!
  • I have an interim trainer tonight while my trainer is out of town - so it's going to be an adventure in strength training before my 45 minutes of Elliptical cardio!
