Also the only species who aren't designed to be overweight who get overweight!

I find cutting out sugar and wheat to be enough, and some people swear by cutting diary, but I've never heard of someone cutting those things and pork.

I usually skip breakfast -- horrible, I know -- but have a few pre-lunch snacks followed by a big lunch, followed by after-lunch / pre-dinner snacking, followed by a moderate dinner.

I put on a jacket that I bought awhile ago that only fit when I was much slimmer. I'm working back towards that goal but yesterday, the jacket fit fine when I thought I still had about 30lbs to go just to fit into it. What a great day. Congrats on your NSV!

Recently had a weight loss competition at work. I weighed in at home at around 6:30AM and then weighed in at work at about 7:30. The difference was typically 2 lbs, even accounting for clothing. So I would keep two separate journals. Alas, that might be the best option.

Thanks everyone for the responses, and terribly sorry for the late reply. We've tried a few things, but her weight loss is only trickling, but she's losing inches like crazy (and gaining muscle!) so, I guess that's that?

I think the accuracy of BMI has been suspect for awhile now -- it certainly has been in my mind. But this is definitely good reinforcement. Thanks for this.

I'm in -- best of luck everyone :)

Good luck and welcome to the community. I'm new myself but have found everyone very supportive.

I usually balance it out. If I have a glass of coffee or tea I try to have a glass of water to "cancel" it out. Coffee and tea will dehydrate you pretty quickly (that's why you never ever ever have coffee when hungover-- it seems like a good idea but makes things worse). My advice is to keep on enjoying your ice tea, but…
