  • I have burned 800 on the treadmill or an hour of interval training but it was pretty intense and the sweat was really flying. Don't know if that is high or not. It is nearly four hours. Could be close to true.
  • We did it for six weeks and got quite fit but actually gained weight. We didn't follow the diet though. We have tried the cardio ones since getting a HRM and they don't burn tonnes of calories, way less than Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper DVDs do.

  • I guess I didn't give my starting weight, it was 169. I worked out for an hour this morning and ate my fruits and veggies.
  • Sounds like you are eating too little. If you don't take in at least 1200 calories a day your body slows down to keep from starving. Try having small frequent meals to get you calories up.
  • Our food challenge could be the five to ten fruits and veggies we should eat daily.
  • What I have found is that once you start counting calories you don't want the high cal stuff because it takes away from what you can have. You look for more exercise so you can have more calories! Start one thing at a time and it will all come. I have found that this site doesn't limit or deprive me but I find I don't want…
  • Bad weekends are part of life. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and carry on. You can get back on track. Remember that one bad weekend will not undo all the work you have done so far! It is a lifestyle and lives have ups and downs. Good luck in the new week!
  • I admire your goal. I have a hard time sending my patients to a dietician who don't live what they teach. I am striving to stay in a healthy weight range to provide a good example and need the other team members to do the same. You will have more success with your patients for living what you teach! Good luck.
  • LOTS of fiber. Vegies are very little calories but so filling. I start my meals with a salad and that fills me up. also pick whole grains and avoid anything white. More protein helps keep you full. I try and limit my carbs because they are high calorie and don't keep you full long. Play with it and find what works for you.
  • I'll join you. Last ten to go. Kthom Start weight 158 goal weight 148
  • You may have to do more cardio. Thirty minutes a couple days a week is really not enough once your body gets used to it. They say that 60 minutes 5-6 days a week are required and you really have to watch the diet. How many and what kind of calories are you eating. Are you counting or just eating healthy? Keeping the weight…
  • I workout in the morning because then nothing gets in the way. Get up and go to the gym as soon as it opens and then come home for breakfast and to get ready for work. If I have time I will run in the evening but find it is too easy to not have time to make this my regular workout. On weekends I run in the morning before I…
  • I agree that Brennan threw the weigh in and I am sure Melissa was busy game playing! Brennan wasn't impressed when they all agreed to not throw the weigh in.
  • Love watching the biggest loser. Not realistic weight loss for all the rest of us though!
  • Great job!!! That is so exciting. I understand your joy as I have never been a runner and recently began running and am up to 35 minutes! I was so excited when I got to a ten minute mile I cried too! Keep up the great work.:drinker:
  • I did the P90X for 6 weeks until I just got frustrated with weight gain! I didn't follow the diet but wasn't counting calories either and had slow weight loss with my regular workouts. Since starting MFP I am strictly counting calories and have lost weight nicely. I think you will be ok if you remember they wayyyyy…
  • If you click on their name it will take you to their profile and there is an add as friend option.
  • Welcome and you will do great! Diabetes is totally reversible and if you count the calories and stick to your limits you will lose weight. Less fat means less insulin resistance and therefore less diabetes. Muscle utilizes insulin very effectively and building it and losing fat are the answer to dealing with type 2…
  • Good luck! Quitting smoking is the single most beneficial thing you can do for your health. I quit two years ago and know that I would not be able to run five k now if I hadn't. I never cough and do not get stabbing chest pain when I exercise. It is worth the hard work. GOOD LUCK!
  • They say that you should eat at least some of your exercise calories back because if you go under 1200 calories then you put your body in conservation mode and it slows down your metabolism and weight loss. I don't eat all me exercise calories, only about half and I have been losing weight at the 1-2 pound a week pace. One…
  • It is set up to do level one for about two weeks then add level two for about two weeks and then add level three. You do warm up and cool down for each combination. It is a good workout and allows for progression. If you are really fit you can start with all three but it is pretty intense if you aren't used to this level…
