  • Carnivore Credo [Abridged] I, FIT_Goat, am a strict carnivore. This means that I eat little, to no, plants. All of my energy (calories) and nutrients come from animals or animal products. I believe plants can be used for seasoning and or medicine, but they aren't meant to be used for attempting to meet energy or nutrient…
  • I really should stop slacking. January is "World Carnivore Month." I should start a thread or two and get a measure of the interest in that. The carnivore group is quiet these days.
  • Ugh, a man eating 1400 calories a day wants to tell us how CICO works. No one here denies that you can starve yourself thin. Some of us just ask why anyone would want to.
  • I did run two challenges. I ran the "Ad-Lib April" and the "Meativore May" challenges. It has been a while, because my life has been crazy busy. I would be willing to run one (or both) of those again. "Don't Count December" could be fun. "Just Meat January" maybe? LOL
  • I knew you weren't, it was just reminding everyone else to not let it become that. The CICO people don't like me because I do not give them the time of day or even bother with their argument. They are going to do what they do, and believe what they believe. That has no bearing on my life.
  • BMR is just the amount of calories it takes to run your metabolic bodily functions each day. It has very little to do with how much you should eat to lose weight. On top of that, it is almost certainly a very weak estimate of your actual value and humans are horrible at knowing how active they really are. You almost…
  • It can shock you when you find out how proper diet can address health issues that you thought had nothing to do with diet. I am not going to claim that low-carb can cure everything, but you may see improvement in many areas of your health.
  • Please do not let this devolve into complaints about the main boards on here. The group rules prohibit such threads. As for the CICO people, I think they get more irritated by me. LOL
  • I looked at this and it looks pretty close to what I do anyway. I have been allowing some dairy, but that is really the only thing that I don't do. It would be insane for me to go over 20 grams of total carbs in a day, let alone net.
  • I have looked through this, and I saw no personal attacks. Nor do I see any reason to prohibit someone from disagreeing with another person's opinion (as if that is the same as attacking it). Disagreements happen here. Heck, I am one of the biggest "don't count calories" bigots on here. I have learned to not get offended…
  • What are your macros? Your calories are probably too low, leaving no natural way to get the protein.
  • So no one is going to talk about how this is pretty typical for nearly 100% of ketoers? No one is going to mention that the initial weight loss is mostly water, and the weight loss will slow or reverse a few weeks (to a month) in as the body adjust to the new normal level of carbohydrate intake? There is a reason for the…

  • One thing that helps many people is prioritizing protein in each meal. If you want 100 grams a day, maybe aim for 35 grams per meal. Start there. First get those protein grams in place. Then, build the rest of the meal around that and staying reasonably close to the other macros. But protein first. Get that right.
  • I know a guy, Ash Simmonds, who drinks wine every single day. He wrote a whole thing about how the carbs in my dry wines are over-stated. https://ashsimmonds.com/2014/08/09/carbohydrates-in-wine-its-not-starch-only-residual-sugar-and-why-listings-are-wrong/ Now, I am not saying that wine won't impact your weight loss…
  • I think it was The Bear, who originally pointed out, that for some people low carb just wasn't low enough. They needed to be zerocarb (what has recently been termed carnivore) to lose their excess weight. So, I buy that. At the same time, three weeks is still very short term for any diet. If you hadn't been dieting before,…
  • Welcome back. The important thing is that you are back. I can't tell you how long it will be until you get back into ketosis. It is different for everyone. But, I can tell you that being consistent will get you there.
  • For that time, I was seasoning it. I have gone periods of beef without seasoning.
  • I am pretty sure that no one here is interested in taking your wager. The walls of text need to stop. You're making us other anti-CICO people look bad. This is MFP, you're already starting behind the 8ball. You need to make your posts much more approachable, digestible, and engaging if you are going to get any traction.
  • Locked: consider this your final warning. Play nice or lose your playground privileges.
  • Uhm, taurine is ample in animal meat. Why would taking the grain out cause a deficiency? It is the reason cats can't survive on a vegan diet, they need the taurine from animal foods.
  • It really depends on the specific one. Many of them cannot be subtracted. There was a great video about the various ones. https://youtu.be/CYfqvTZWilw It is worth the time to watch it and see how they each affect blood sugar. But, even those that don't might impact your satiety and hunger signals.
  • Message me your phone number and I should be able to add you.
  • I think we all know that I will end up watching it. I am an information junkie.
  • Well, we both know I would argue that carnivorous eating is more natural than IF. But, my main focus is on the issue that the OP is experiencing. Hair thinning/loss is a very common complaint for women that is associated with IF, as well as fast weight loss. OP is currently doing both, and I think it would be best to stop…
  • What the kitten is that? Women don't get to eat for 75% of the week. Would that be a 6-hour feeding window every other day, with a non-fasting day each week? I also note that this is focused just on the weight loss aspect. On the bright side, at least more IF proponents are admitting that women tend to do worse with IF,…
  • Female? Drop the IF. The stress is a major component for hair loss and women handle IF poorly with few (if any) benefits. It is also likely related to the rapid weight loss. Averaging 3 lbs a week is likely faster than your body can healthily sustain. Eat more, especially protien. Once this starts, it tends to take several…
  • There's a lot of kittens in your post, but I think you're talking about poop and bums. I can say that I didn't experience the same thing, possibly because I was already several years into eating as a carnivore. I don't know. My digestion has become so "tame" that I rarely think about it as a thing. It's a lot like…
  • The 30 days of nothing but ground beef that I did on here was really one of the best things I did. I try not to get too preachy about my filthy zerocarb ways, but it is amazing how it makes you feel. Edit: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/FIT_Goat There's the blog. You'll need to be my friend to see it. I was getting way…
  • I feel like I have read all the books and watching that second movie will just be an audio/visual treatment of that information.
