  • You don't get constipate from not eating fiber. Things move along very well. There will be less of it, significantly so, but you won't have problems actually going when you need to.
  • How sensitive are you to fiber and the sugars in beans? I tend to get extremely gassy and cramps from them. That would be my biggest factor. I know what my body can and can't handle.
  • Go ahead and add me, if you haven't.
  • Yep, it just takes a little personal experience to realize why I tend to be so excited about it. It doesn't seem like much, but taking the carbs all the way down can have a huge difference. This burger thing is fun, but really not that different from my normal (aside from when I fell off the wagon). I am totally craving…
  • In general, I read the labels and avoid anything with more than 1-2 grams of carbs per serving (and make sure the serving is what I would eat). So, if something has 1 gram per serving and two servings per link, I might eat it. If it was 2 grams per serving and two servings per link, I might not. That's borderline. I…
  • For those of you interested in "Ad Lib April," I recommend reading the thread that inspired it. The thread I link to here started a side discussion about whether or not it could work for more than just a few people. That eventually led to having it as a group challenge. If you want to do it, there's benefit in…
  • You might be in the realm of persistent overindulgence, which could cause discomfort for a while. Maybe the leaner meat, this week, will help.
  • Usually it is pretty soon after, like within an hour or two. I guess it could be longer, but most things I have read suggest it is pretty quick. My personal experience, with drinking large amounts of fat, is that it comes on fairly soon after. I have never actually puked, but it has been pretty close. It also seems more…
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/FIT_Goat/view/day-12-30-ground-beef-822380 Day 12 is done. I had too much seasoning with my dinner, but otherwise was on plan.
  • I think that would be ok. Like all things, you have to tweak the rules to make them work for yourself. One of the primary benefits of removing all plant-based oils is the removal of the source of excessively imbalanced omega-6 fatty acids. All this concern about omegas comes from the fact that the standard diet is full of…
  • No, I can't cheat. It all makes me feel horrible and sends my cravings out of control.
  • It could be, it could also be that it's just too much fat. I know, for experimental purposes, you're trying to make sure to consume all the fat. It might just be too much. Nausea is a prime sign of trying to consume more fat than your body wants. That's another reason I doubt most people could consistently over-eat enough…
  • We should probably add something about this to the Launch Pad @Dragonwolf or @baconslave might know more than I do on this. I am aware of it, in a general sense, but I don't spend a lot of time in the "xxreddit" or browsing threads that are obviously women specific. There might be others that I haven't heard of.
  • Disclaimer: I am not a woman. This is extremely common for women when they start keto. If you go to https://reddit.com/r/xxketo you'll see a lot of people asking about this. The primary belief is that it is because fat cells also store hormones. When you're burning lots of fat, you are also dealing with a large influx of…
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/FIT_Goat/view/day-11-30-ground-beef-822221 Today wasn't very exciting. I hope to give blood tomorrow. I expect it to be uneventful, but so many people worry about giving blood on keto and low-carb.
  • Alcohol can drive blood ketone levels up, but this doesn't mean that you're burning more fat or losing weight more quickly. Just like people can take ketones and drive blood ketones up, without actually benefiting from them. Your ketosis levels may have been artificially high, due to the alcohol.
  • How are you hitting 2200 calories a day, with only 30 grams of total carbs, while eating vegetarian? I know tons of people who try to be vegetarian keto at lower calorie levels and they usually end up at 30-50 grams of net carbs just to make it work Can you give an example of what you eat, each day, because your diary…
  • How are you possibly making a reasonable calorie goal with 20 total carbs a day and a vegetarian diet? Why aren't you subtracting fiber? Fiber does not effect blood sugar or ketosis and should be subtracted.
  • I did my measurements this morning. I went down 0.3% in the body fat estimate. There was a little shrinkage in the waist area (about 1 cm). There rest of the number didn't change in any significant way. My Saturday to Saturday trend weight dropped a whole kilogram. That's a big drop.
  • I don't have progress pictures, but I do have body measurements (taken each Saturday). As for drinking grease, butter, and other such things, I find that the appeal goes up the longer you've been on this diet but also the closer you get to goal weight. Too much fat, when you're already heavy, will make you sick to your…
  • Remove all possible confounders. I have used some seasoning, but trivial amounts. Ideally, I would quit coffee, seasoning, and stop using salt. But, those things are simple joys that I don't believe harm me to any great degree.
  • There's actually no good reason for that detail. It started in the bacon thread and I said I couldn't do two pounds of bacon a day for a month. So, I stated: @kirkor said I should do just that and blog it. Yes, I blame him. I guess I said it because eating just beef for a month wouldn't be a challenge for me. I go weeks…
  • Yeah, my aim is 32 ounces a day. I find that I am rarely hungry enough to get more than half a pound in at the evenings. And, this breakdown of 12oz-12oz-8oz gets me to the goal calories without me losing interest.
  • That's what he looks like when he's not sitting down and wearing a shirt. The video doesn't really give an idea of how big he is. I recommend following his instagram if you're interested in weights and keto. Also, he is a moderator of ketogains (on reddit) which is another great resource.
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24eYXwyqMx4 This is an interview with darthluiggi. He lifts on keto, and has tried CKD and TKD and found both to not be beneficial, instead he just stays keto all the time. It's a good interview.
  • I have been making 6oz patties for lunch and second lunch (eating two at each meal) and a smaller meal of 8oz total (2x4oz) for dinner.
  • I've actually been eating my normal amounts the last two days. Yesterday, I got to the full 2,800 calories. Will try for the same again tomorrow.
  • Weight fell again today. That makes today 3.3 kg (7.26 lbs) down from my starting weight 9 days ago. My trend-line is down 1.3 kg (2.86 lbs). I am a little shocked, but not too much. I have experience similar to this before when I was heavy like this and moved to meat only. I'm pretty sure it's not all fat, obviously. I…
  • Bones, water, simmer, drink. How do you write that 200 different ways? LOL
  • Yeah, 8 ounces is about the minimum that I will consider for a meal. Today is up. You all don't know how much it means that I gave up corned beef this year. It's one of my favorites. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/FIT_Goat/view/day-9-30-ground-beef-820964
