https://ketocarne.com/ This is the best jerky that I have found, other than the jerky I make for myself. It has no sugar. It's just meat and seasonings. Downside? It's $40 a pound. It's like $6 a bag, so not much higher than normal jerky when you think of prices, but it's way more than making my own.

Zerocarb (often called carnivore) does not allow plants as food. We eat only from the animal kingdom. No vegetables, no fruit, no sweet things, no supplements, no fiber, etc. Some of us will eat high-fat (low-carb) dairy, like cheese, and eggs. But, yeah meat is our food.
-
Which one? Primal or carnivore? We have a small but fairly dedicated carnivore group around here, with me being the biggest anti-plant bigot. Edit: I just reset my MFP counter, because that tells me how long it's been. It actually counts from when I started keto, but I went carnivore the July after. So, I have been a…

At the top, there is a link that goes to stories and experience reports and stuff.

https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/120342-low-carber-carnivore-club It's a quiet group, but many of us are over there. It's private because of harassment concerns. Why is it not a longer term solution? Some of us have done this for years.

Yep, several years now of just meat. I actually just passed the anniversary of my initial trial. I forget how many years it has been. Maybe 4 or 5? A long time. Long enough that I stopped thinking about it. I posted a blog here where I ate nothing but ground beef for a month. No cheese or anything with it. It isn't…

I eat so much fat! My personal trainer had a conniption fit when he saw my saturated fat goal was 90 grams a day. And that's just saturated fat. My total fat is over 200 grams. My cholesterol is fine. My non-fasting number (from just a couple weeks ago when I gave blood) was 194. All my numbers are always good. It's not…

Yes, truce.

I see that you joined the group back in March of 2016. So, I am going to take that as a compliment. I don't exactly want to go around telling people how to live their lives or what their participation in this group should look like. If I am "some random" to you, it means that I'm not stampeding around telling people how…

Way more than you will ever consume eating whole foods. I've had 300g+ days, and still registered in ketosis on blood ketone strips. I've had single meals over 140 grams, and was still in ketosis when I measured a couple hours later. I do believe that protein powders and whey isolate could probably have an effect. I…

Nope. I quoted that on purpose, so you couldn't play those games. The examples you gave have calories well under 1,000. And, there was no indication or hint that those numbers were "for instance" numbers. If they were, you need to be much more careful about pulling numbers out of the air. Pick ones that don't promote…

Wait a minute! Are you really suggesting that 60g fat and 60g protein is healthy? Heck, even with a generous 50 grams of protein, you're under 1,000 calories a day. It would be much healthier if you did eat 1g of protein for every gram of lean body mass. 120 grams of protein would be fantastic for your body, and hardly…

I know I have been almost nonexistent around here, through this whole thing. I am one of the longest running carnivores around here (if not the longest running one). When I started, I barely mentioned it to anyone. I was worried about what people would think. It was just too insane. This was long before there was anyone…

Nope. This will provide no actual benefit. You lose fat when your body makes ketones, not just because you get them into your body.

Does it work? Of course it works! We get new studies all the time. Here's a new one from this month talking about the effects of extreme carb restriction for people with type-1. http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2018/05/03/peds.2017-3349 The A to Z study is another great one, when it comes to looking at…

I have spent more money than almost anyone on here, tracking ketones. I lost track of how many hundreds of dollars that I spent on urine strips, ketone breath meter, and a blood ketone tester/strips. Through all of that time and money, I did learn/confirm several things. 1. A positive result on the urine strips means you…

It was never my "goal" to control my migraines with keto. But, I haven't had one since going keto and keeping the carbs keto or lower. That's years without one! Not a single migraine in years (except one migraine after two months of returning to a normal diet... and I went right back to carnivore after getting that…

Why 1200? Are you really in the {very limited} range of people who need to be eating that little? Also, protein should be higher, for at least the first month, until you are sure you have adapted. You want to do everything possible to preserve muscle mass. You haven't posted any biographical information (age, weight,…

I never worry about being over on protein, only under. There's no upper limit where I would feel that I should stop eating it and replace it with fat instead.

For most people, low-carb is an IIFYM program. You just have set your macros for low carbs, moderate protein, and the rest from fat. Beyond that, if your food fits within your macros, you are allowed to have it. Now, if you're talking the specific IIFYM diet, that's going to be really high carb even at fairly low calories.…

I think I posted this before, but here is a chart of my first year of weight loss with keto (and eventually the start of carnivore). This is exactly one year's worth of data. During that time I went from 92.5 kg to 70.4 kg. That's a loss of 48.7 pounds in a year! Almost a pound a week. And, looking at most of that graph,…

Just an FYI, my profile photo is me at Epcot wearing a shirt I bought from Italy***. That's how much time we spend at Disney. We have annual passes and my wife is a huge fan. I once told her how much more we could have, if we invested the cost of the passes (instead of going to Disney), she told me that I could continue to…

I am a strict carnivore, and I can make it work at Disney. It can be done. I've also done it at keto levels, which is easier. Some parks are harder than others. Epcot can be difficult if you're not willing to spend much money. They do have turkey legs (usually back in America but also elsewhere). For the love of meat, DO…

I am starting to get excited. This is reminding me of the first "Meativore May" and how many people tried it out. A lot of people had a great time with that, even if they didn't stick with it forever.

Despite a minor training injury this past week, I have been keeping up with my goals. I will need to make sure I do a couple extra things this week, but that shouldn't be a problem.
-
Yep. The "I'm done eating even though there is still more food" moment is a common feeling with those who have correctly functioning satiety signals. For many of us, we never knew that feeling existed until we went low carb. It does exist, and is amazing.
-
Wait a minute! Are you saying that going back to eating the foods that made me fat in the first place will make me fat again!?! Next you're going to tell me that if I stop exercising, and go back to sitting on the couch all day, I will go right back to being out of shape. That's absurd! I'm never going to change my eating…

Shawn Baker addressed this. He is a competitive athelete. High blood glucose reading are associated with higher athletic performance. He didn't quite any studies, but they aren't too hard to find. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5094325/ It is hard to draw conclusions, because we just don't know. What we do…

Well, there was also a distinct "American Beauty" goal in my mind. I wanted to look good naked. Lol. That was more important than the scale anyway.

As your body becomes more adapted to ketosis, it will stop producing more ketones than it needs. Which means it won't be flushing excess ketones out. If your carbs are under control, this is a good sign.
