What they all said. Chesty here too, wear it in the middle of my bra and I don't notice it at all. Wonderful place to put it and really accurate.

I think the big thing is to stop looking at it as a race. I have been on here for a year and I've lost 15 pounds. I have a lot more to lose but you know what? That's 15 pounds less than I weighed a year ago. It's 15 pounds I did not GAIN (and the first year I did not end heavier than the last in a long time). And it's 15…

What everyone else said. Weigh your food and make sure that everything that goes in your mouth is accounted for. I looked through your diary and there were a number of things that made me go huh? For example, on one of the days you have 5 slices of some sausage pizza as 300 calories. I can't imagine how tiny those slices…

This is the reason mine is private as well. I wish I could be as honest with others as I can when it's just me but I can't so for now, it's private so that I put down each and every nibble even when I go over by a lot.

I don't see a problem with paying her although I wonder how long her excitement at the incentive will last. I was able to get my 13 yr old daughter walking with me on a daily basis by telling her that I needed her help to get healthy. She whined the first few days but after that she came straight home (during the school…

I think about this often. I'm 5'8" and I always felt fat even when I wasn't. It started with my classmates being shorter and much lighter than I was at an early age and my mother always dieting and even when I was 108, I still thought I was fat. At 18 and 121, I was happy (briefly) and then I started gaining weight. I sat…

You seem to be over on sodium most days and it also looks like a lot of what you're eating is junk. You might even be undereating for your size and weight and considering you're a male. My advice (and only my advice, based on your diary and what you've told us): 1. Measure your food to make sure you're logging accurately.…

I've never had a thigh gap. I'm 5'8" and even when I weighed 114 as a teenager, I didn't have one. I hated it. I've got a real hourglass shape and my thighs rubbed even when I was thin. Genetics, damn them. Nowadays I use bodyglide (goes on like a deoderant and doesn't feel greasy or anything) and swear by it. I wish…

I love my One. So much. I would go nuts if I didn't have it now. My pet peeve is how many people don't read the instructions and/or understand what a Fitbit does i.e. calculate your BMR and give you calories for that PLUS activity. I wonder how many people return or stop using them based on this misunderstanding *facepalms*

These threads just depress me. I'm vegetarian because I've basically been left unable to digest meat after becoming very ill (hospitalized) in Peru a few years ago. Getting rid of meat in my diet has made my GI issues virtually non-existent and I am so happy with how I now feel that I can't imagine going back. I'm not a…

These black bean burgers are so good. My husband who still loves a good beef burger (kidlet and I are completely vegetarian) thinks they rock. http://familyfriendlyveg.wordpress.com/2013/06/03/better-than-ever-black-bean-burgers/

I'm vegetarian because I got seriously ill (hospitalized) in Peru a few years back and when I came home I had continued gastrointestinal issues that nothing helped (saw specialists, had tons of tests, tried every other dietary change I could think of for TWO years) until one day I thought I'd take a break from meat and it…

Good luck! Am on day 6, level 1 - and just so you know, you may be incredibly sore the first two days - as in, omg, I didn't even know I had those muscles sore, and tempted to stop, but don't and you'll feel much better by the third and fourth day and your endurance will be even better by day 5, etc. Stick with it! You get…

MFP is fantastic but getting my Fitbit One has made all the difference for me. In the first 12 weeks I've had it, I've gone from walking maybe 5K a day with some 7.5 and 10K days on the weekends to a 15K daily minimum and average of 17-18K. I usually hit 1-2 20K days a week (on the weekend mostly). Which means, according…

I already posted above but same here! 5'8" and am losing 1 lb a week and it's taking 1800-2000 calories a day for me to drop the weight at that rate. At 1500 (!) I wasn't losing a thing.

I'm 5'8" and I started out at 213 and I now weigh 199 - almost all of that loss has been since March which means I'm losing roughly a pound a week. I walk 15K steps a day (closer to 20K on the weekends)(have a Fitbit which I love so much and completely credit for my moving more) and I just started doing the 30DS (am on…

What everyone else has said but keep in mind too that you're setting a good example FOR your kids by doing this.

I think it looks like a huge difference. Go you! :)

Weirdly enough, I eat 2 tablespoons of mini chocolate chips. I eat them one at a time *facepalms* which slows me down and by the time I've finished, I've totally satisfied my chocolate craving for only 140 calories.

We've been twice in July for two weeks each time and we barely had any rain at all. When we did, it was usually a short burst and then would clear up. I think we had one morning the last time where it really stormed and then rest of the day was gorgeous. Go and enjoy!

Also, it even says on the fitbit site and this one that you should log exercises that fitbit doesn't track well like rowing, biking, lifting, etc. - anything that's not step-based (walking, running, aerobics).

I did this years ago and I followed the instructions to the LETTER and I still had issues. Believe me, you do not want to do this. But if you do, make sure you take a change of clothes EVERYWHERE.

I wore a pair of capris today that last summer popped the button every time I moved or sat down. This year, the capris are actually baggy and I think it won't be long before I have to replace them. As well, yesterday I had to put 2 pair of yoga pants into the donation pile because they're way too big and the ones I'm…

Hate it. Really want to love it and have tried it every which way (figuring I'll find it some way I like it) but no luck so far :(

My favourite pizza place does a tandoori sweet potato pizza which is soooo good and which made me seek out this recipe which is absolutely scrumptious: Tandoori Sweet Potatoes 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced 1 tablespoon tandoori paste (I use Patak's) 1 tablespoon canola oil 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon red pepper…

I'm sure others will have better advice for you but I recently found that after a two month period of walking 3 hours a day, 20-25K steps a day, and eating on target (1500 calories) and losing nothing that when I had to drop back to 15-20K and was eating more (2000 calories), I suddenly dropped 3 lbs in a week and it's…

On top of what everyone else has recommended, I'd suggest getting a stick of Bodyglide: http://running.about.com/od/injurypreventiontools/gr/bodyglide.htm You can order it online through a number of places and it'll run you $10-15 but last you a long time You rub it over a "hot spot" (preferably before the blister forms)…

I know you're only talking going vegetarian, not vegan, but take a look at this site for athletes who are vegan: http://www.greatveganathletes.com/ and this site: http://www.veganfitness.net/home/ under the FAQ and under I have 10 minutes. Give me the nutritional know-how. There are lots of great ways for you to get your…
