I just dusted off my bike, over the weekend, for the first time in over 2 years. I dislike my bike shorts, so I purchased a cushion to put over my seat. Haven't tried it yet, but hoping it will be an acceptable substitute for the ugly shorts.

Excellent results! Congrats and best of luck to you!!!

My observation has been that a digital scale MUST rest on a very solid, level surface in order to provide consistent readings.

I usually prefer 2 - 3 larger meals per day. Seems the more often I eat, the harder it is to keep track of it all, and I end up overeating. Also, I'm working to put food thoughts into perspective, so that I'm not pre-occupied with thinking of food all day.

Take time each day to explore the site; it has a lot to offer in the way of support and tools! Best of luck to you!

So sorry for your loss.

Incredible effort! I'm inspired! I just took my bicycle down from its hook on the garage ceiling. I'm going out for a spin today! I haven't done that for over two years.

Well, congrats to you!!! That's incredible!!! Only a man can go from a 44" waist to a 34" waist without thinking to try smaller pants at some point in between! ;)

Thanks; I'll check it out. That's actually part of what I'm after....I'm wondering if there's a gadget that might work better for me than the Fitbit.
-
Didn't even think to do that...thanks!

OMG, I couldn't even get through page 2 of this thread and I had to stop! I'm at work and I can't stop laughing!!! My cubeville neighbors are going to think I'm nuts!

If you're corny, so am I....I got all goose pimply looking at that picture and thinking of the awesome commitment it took to there there....incredible what we can do when we set our minds to it.

Hello! I'm relatively new here...so far, so good. I've lost a few pounds over the past couple of weeks, and I'm feelin' pret-ty good about it :)
-
Add me!

I've struggled a lot in the past couple of years, losing a couple of pounds, then gaining them back, plus some. Gradually, I've reached my lifetime heaviest. I'm almost hesitant to "say it out loud", but over the past couple of weeks, I've come to feel I might finally be righting the ship, and that it might actually last…

Welcome, send me a request! I'm new, too. I'm also old enough to be your mom, but I promise not to lecture you ;)

I'm pretty new, too. Have lost 3 in the past couple of weeks. Hoping to lose around 50. Good luck to you, and feel free to send friend request!

Yoohoo....anyone out there? ...Maybe I put this on the wrong board....

Excellent motivation! Thanks!

Off the top of my head... Run by Pink Floyd It's Raining Men by The Weather Girls Back In The Saddle by Aerosmith Beautiful Life by Ace Of Base Teeth by Lady GaGa Bounce by Bon Jovi Voulez Vous by Abba Back In Black by ACDC I also like to run to classical music; it provides a nice calming backdrop for "active" meditation.

I'm certainly no expert, but it sounds as though you're doing all the right things. Forget what the scale says, and keep doing what you're doing. The weight will eventually fall off; it HAS to! Keep up the good work!

I have one, and I love it! No one sees it; I enjoy just knowing it's there.
-
Congrats on the great progress! Just as impressive is the fact that you don't look anywhere near 40!
-
Love your story; I can relate to your lack of motivation phase way too well. Thank you for inspiring me to move forward.
-
Great work!!!

Congrats! Has it been hard to do? When you're low on motivation, how do you work through it?
