@BlueRosie80 Did you see the message from @baconslave above?

Response following, and response to it. @tcunbeliever - I have high blood pressure, treated, very balanced now. I was using a supplement for Liver Function that had Licorice Root in it, and I hated it because sometimes I could taste it as my body broke it down. I'll look into the other option, though... I was diagnosed…

Looks like the Ovasitol is the combo of both types of Inositol together in ratio. So that is something that we've known about in general, but knowing the brand name of this product is helpful to some. I hope you continue to improve, @Tine_622

@AD_23 This group, and it's super supportive check-ins help so many of us every day!!! Best of luck to you on your journey. :)

@cstehansen I find this fascinating. I would imagine that my testing arc would be similar to yours, though shifted lower in the spectrum. With a normal meal, I don't generally spike above 120 that I've noticed... But I've not tested with straight glucose in any form, either. I do know that any spikes and drops I've got…

@amandammmq I think both you and your partner look much younger! It's one of my favorite side effects of this WOE!

Oh, WOWWOWWOW... This is so impressive and motivation. and 35 pounds to WHAT??? You look incredible.

Short answers, too - @sun_cat Mexican: get fajitas without tortillas, rice, beans. taco salad without shell, rice, beans. tacos and dump the fixings out and eat like taco salad. skip the chips and eat guac with a force, or salsa/queso (a little won't hurt, likely) with a spoon, etc. extra cheese, salsa (most restaurants…

@aresvallis So yes, that is not optimal, but not horrible, either, on the TSH... However, on the T4, is that Total T4? Or Free T4? Total T4 is a meaningless number without the point of reference of Free T4. Either way, is it at 75% of the range given?? 75% or higher? My TOTAL values allow for 5-14 or so...but again,…

The obvious flattening and shrinking aside, look at the difference in your face!!!! Kudos.

My favorite coping technique is loud, angry rock music. This is for any type of stress, frustration, anger, sadness, boredom, etc. :) Particularly, my current "starting" song is "The Sound of Madness" by Shinedown. I have many others on this list...but that's nearly always where I start. That, and, once bloating and cramps…

@AJB1014 Congrats and good luck!

@aresvallis This was the info I saved down. If you want your GP to increase Levothyroxine dose you could show GP Dr. Toft's article in Pulse Magazine a few years ago. Read Treatment Options in http://www.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_the_thyroid/hypothyroidism.html Email louise.roberts@thyroiduk.org if you would like a copy…

@Llamapants86 Congrats on winding down May a winner! :)

Interesting! I knew there were some stevias without fillers. And I guess I'm spoiled. I have droppers for my liquid stevias. No drips! LOL
-
If you're over 20, your TSH should be under 2. Labs will allow higher numbers, but it's wrong. I'll try to look up the letter to take to your GP to explain... It's a NHS letter.... My fasting glucose and fasting A1c are great, but my fasting insulin is high. I'm somewhere between a pre-diabetic and…

@Marcelynh This too shall pass. Remember that keto helps manage stress cravings...mostly. :) Keep calm, keto on...
-
Oh, and stick with liquids over powders wherever possible. Fillers are horrible on us.

Sucralose causes gut lining issues, so the bloat, etc. makes sense. Most folks have to cut sucralose (a lucky few don't react). I mainly stick with stevia or stevia blends. Watch the maltodextrin or dextrose, as you saw. They're a higher glycemic impact than sugar. Styr is a stevia based drink mix akin to Mio. Walmart has…

@Live0rDieTrying Be aware that the so-called keto flu is generally 100% avoidable except in extreme cases. Keep your sodium up to replace the 3000-5000 mg of sodium that is dumped with ketones. At any stage of adaption you can develop electrolyte imbalance. Keep an eye on your sodium and fluids, and you'll probably be good.
-
Make sure to get extra electrolytes, too. Alternate between alcohol and water/electrolyte drinks if possible. Otherwise the hangover the next day will make you pray for death.

I have a copy cat spicy sausage/kale cream soup (Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana) that I like. Scotch eggs are good. I love all variations of taco salads. All the egg dishes are fun to try... (look up "egg fast" for some suggestions) What types of foods do you like? And I'm a HUGE second vote for crackslaw. That stuff is…

Remember that the majority of people tolerate a bit more carbs better at their last meal...and that carbs can be burned off with exercise within 30 minutes of the meal... BUT, lentils are a healthier natural carb. If you use them IN a dish instead of AS a dish, you should be able to fit some in here or there!
-
@wellnesschaser I'm working through the mental side of it all, to be sure. I don't have anything "down pat," but I keep reminding myself of these things all the time. And I'm VERY vocal about this stuff. I put myself on a form of "blast" all the time. But I still hide things. It's so awful... There is a test on here…

As far as the inositol, there is a difference between types (myo vs. whatever the other form is)... Also, I think therapeutic numbers are 8-12 grams....??? I want to say. I know I never made it anywhere close to the numbers. @Dragonwolf probably remembers - she's the one who told me! Vitex can be better at actually…

I don't even have words for all this. I'm sorry for all of your struggles. And docs who don't have hormonal issues don't get it. 1 stone = 14 pounds, so she was telling you to lose 84 pounds, which if you have a good lean body mass percentage, makes no sense. I'm sorry for your struggles. But, I would go to see an…

@Nevadaden Every time you fight back, you inspire me!

@Hungry_Shopgirl A few things that really help me are to remember: * that unless I ate 3500 calories OVER my maintenance calories, I didn't gain anything. Anything showing on the scale is water retention and such. So you have maybe one single day (in the past week) that qualifies for this. And that's a maybe. That means…
-
@PeaceQT18 Carbs are a hard limit. 20-50 grams, depending on your program. Protein is a MINIMUM range. Usually around 1 gram of protein based on your lean body mass in pounds (the part that isn't body fat percentage, so if your body fat is 30%, your LBM is 70%. If your weight was 200 pounds (all random examples for…

You're welcome, everyone. @xDaniDragonflyx I discover somewhat early in my life that I have an ability in being able to translate information I've heard, read, or otherwise absorbed and share it with others when they need it. I am a firm believer that if we can do something, we should do that. I am so blessed to have…
