I got a personal trainer and was very straight with him from the beginning: I just wanted to learn how to lift weights properly, use the different machines correctly, figure out what weights I should be lifting, and how to create a lifting routine for myself. I didn't need motivation to show up, I didn't need someone to…

I would just try netting 1500-1600 calories for a few weeks and see how you do. If nothing else, you may find that you have more energy for your workout. I upped mine and it worked for me. I am smaller than you (5'6" and 140lbs), exercise about the same amount or maybe a little more and I eat 1800-2000 calories per day,…

I cook almost entirely from scratch, never use salt (I don't think I've touched the salt shaker in two months), and eat mostly fresh produce, and still my sodium goes above 2500mg almost every day! I do use the frozen chicken breasts 3ish times a week, so maybe that's it, and I think my protein shake has quite a bit in it,…

This is going to sound weird, but it's totally amazing and the easiest, most delicious salmon you'll ever make. Cut slices into fillets about an inch apart, not all the way through.. maybe halfway through. Coat fillets and fill slices with Strawberry or Apricot-Pineapple or Peach preserves. No joke, the Apricot-Pineapple…

Yes thank you! I do feel like I am being weird because my perception is so off and if anything, that is what's causing other people to be weird. Like I know rationally that the surprise I see on people's faces is just because I lost weight and it's not a judgement or anything, but it really throws me for a loop and I lose…

You do burn a lot running 12min/mi and for longer... your heart rate is up, right? Eat back your exercise calories. I had the same issue and I increased to 1800-2000 cals per day. I am running the same mileage as you, same goal, but I am 5'5" and 139. I also eat above that on my long run days (8mi). I am still losing…

Are you eating enough? I was feeling very irritable and falling asleep when my baby went to bed at 7pm and I increased my caloric intake pretty significantly (but not blindly, TDEE-15%) and the difference was immediate.

I went up from netting 1200 to eating 1800-2200 but making sure I always at least netted my BMR (1460) and I lost 5 pounds in the first two weeks. I am totally comfortable with a slower weight loss, it just felt so wrong to ignore my body when it told me it was hungry. I really think women are socialized to believe they…

Something that really works for me is using a calendar and crossing off each day with one of two colors, let's say purple for a good day and green for a bad day (red is too negative, haha). This helps me because it reminds me that every single day is a new opportunity to start fresh and to get some purple on the board.…

I'm new to this too, but I set my goal calorie intake for TDEE-20%, and then I log my exercise calories ANYWAY just to make sure I net my BMR. So when I do my long runs, I usually eat 200-300 cals more, both because I am hungrier and because those are only 2x per week, but when I log my other, less strenuous workouts, I…

I gained 50lbs with my daughter and I was about 30lbs overweight. I had lost maybe 25lbs by her 3 month mark and really struggled beyond that because every time I worked out hard or cut cals my supply would drop. I found that drinking a big gatorade after working out helped with my supply, as well as just majorly…
