A few ladies seem to be having a tough week. *hugs* to all of you. When I'm having a down day, and all I want to do is say "nevermind" to all the hard work I've put in, I like to either go for a walk or jog, without music, or do a video workout I'm familiar enough with to be able to follow along. I kinda zone out, and just…

196.6, but after a weekend of too much sodium, and not enough water, i'm far from crying! at least i was active. no chance to login on MFP all weekend, but i did hit over 10000 steps everyday on my fitbit and broke the 50 miles walked lifetime marker, in a little over 2 weeks.

i work for my father, so while we're saving up for a place nearby, my fiance and i are living with him. while i don't think he'd mind if i worked out in the main room, and wouldn't say anything against it, it is his house so if he wants the tv, i'm off. and if i'm done work early and he is still on phone calls, i can't…

Thank you for your work on this!

my man started with the thinning at the front when he was about 20. he kept his hair until it became noticable, and then shaved it all off, refusing to do a denial ponytail or combover. we've been together since he was 27 and i was 22. i LOVE his shaved head. i've seen the pictures of him with hair, and while he was a…

You've got me crying while I'm working! Fantastic job, that is SO inspiring!

On meal planning: Every week or two I sit down and plan about 5-6 meals. I go through my Vegetarian Times and a favorite cookbook or two (Williams Sonomas Eat Well is a wonderful one), maybe some websites (Oh She Glows, Post Punk Kitchen), and look at a spreadsheet I have of favorite meals and notes. I pick out a series of…

Weekends tend to mean at least one meal out for me, and as I only see my man on weekends, I tend not to work out, unless he is busy for a while. I log everything as best I can, but I'm sure I underestimate some of those meals out, I just don't know exactly what is in what I'm eating. I've found that over the last couple…

Thanks guys, it feels small and huge to me all at the same time. Congratulations to my fellow noobs, and everybody trotting in the distance!

I make a HUGE variety of dinners. I cook for my dad, my fiance, and myself, and while I could do beans, rice, and greens every night, I use a lot of different dishes to keep them interested. Not that I mind, I love the variety too. But for lunch, I'm on my own. If I'm not eating leftovers I LOVE making some sort of bean…

Honest to goodness, geekdom and loving 80s cartoons are a part of my everyday life with my friends. It didn't even register as anything out of the ordinary. Actually, one of my friends is nicknamed Skeletor. He is quite dried out and underweight - totally not healthy, drinks coffee like it was air and smokes like a…

Congratulations! That is adorable. I just noticed that I had collarbones again about a week ago, and this week was admiring my own shoulders while I was walking on an off c25k day. At just under 200 lbs still, I'm certainly not melting away, but seeing my own shoulder and not a puffy bump was pretty awesome. Here's to many…

Great job! Your chin is inspiring! (I bet you never thought you'd hear that.) And your kids? Cute as buttons. I just finished week 1, and I'm feeling great, already noticing improvements in endurance, and I want to get out and go again! I'll settle for a little bit of bonus walking after work, but getting my heart going in…

Never played (SO not coordinated enough, and I'm doing more to get fit now than I think in the rest of my life combined), but I totally follow MLS. I've seen so many cute kids at games, that I think the game was what made me want kids. Phil-a-del-phia UUUUUUUUnion! (Yeah, not doing so hot this year, but being a supporter…

My wakeup call came when a real life friend of mine passed away. While he had health problems his whole life, he had a standing job, so he got some movement in. When he got laid off, WoW was his escape. It was already my escape, so we spent plenty of time together. I was guild lead, raid lead, top dps (mmm, warlock), first…

Hey fellow awesomes! My name is Jenny and my superpower is getting people to work together! I lead raids with a sexy voice and firm hand, organize larpers with the finesse of a kindergarten teacher, and direct stagelighting hangs like nobody's business.

You've already gotten a lot of responses, but I'll toss in my two cents. I've got a weird sibling structure. My mom had my oldest sister when she was 18, my next sister when she was 22, and my brother when she was 27. I was born when she was 42. My oldest sister had her first child before I was born (I have a niece who is…

Well...check this out. (Copied content below) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/AZTrailRunner/view/help-with-your-shin-splints-139007 Help with YOUR Shin Splints... Posted on 08/19/2011 by AZTrailRunner I've seen this question asked numerous times, and since I too have dealt with "Shin Splints" off and on over the past 20…

I'm curious as well! I just talked to my mom about stretches, as she walked 5+ miles a day from when she was 42 until she was in her 70s. She still walks quite a bit. She didn't have any recommendations for stretches, but told me to take it easy, and she remembers hills being the thing that gave her shin splints more than…

Fantastic job! I didn't realize how big a deal getting under 200 was until I did it myself just a couple weeks ago. Having 2 not be the first number on my scale in the morning was great! I smile every day still when I see that. That change and shrinking pants sizes are natural highs that keep me going for weeks. Now I…

My fiance has an ameri-kilt, and I love when he wears it. He has fantastic calves, and usually wears it with a pair of doc martens with a tartan interior. On really toasty days he'll wear it with a pair of manly sandals (not tevas) and it looks ok then, definetely better with the boots though.

The suggestions to base it on body fat % are the way to go! If you don't have a body fat % reader or access to one at a gym, you can find formulas online to tell you approximately where you are. For women, the generally accepted body fat % for healthy is 21-33%. See where you feel happy in that range. For example, I'm…

My fiance (we've been together over 9 years, might as well be married) has loved me every bit of our relationship, from a size 9 to size 18 and back down to size 14, and will the rest of the way down too. He has been attracted to me through all of it. I have loved him and wanted him through probably about a 50 pound swing…

I didn't tell my mom until I'd lost 30 lbs. She actually gave me a pretty good boost when I did, she worked at Curves for about 5 years, helping every woman in town weigh themselves. When I told her I had gotten up to 230 she said "No...I NEVER would have thought you were that big." She also walked 5 miles a day from as…
