5' 8" here. To be honest, it's not something I ever gave much thought to. I'm pretty comfortable in my own skin. Pros: It probably helped keep my noggin relatively dent-free while serving on submarines and it makes it pretty easy to get in and out of my Porsche. Cons: Apparently, it is a big deal to a lot of people.

I have spent almost 5 years of my life living underwater (submarines).

Miracle Whip is ok, except for that whole goat/goblin aftertaste thing.

What a great story! You just took everyone's excuses away. There is no reason that anyone who makes up their mind to do what you did cannot succeed. The battle is in the mind. You are one tough lady! Congratulations on your achievement!

I use Podrunner tunes. They have a big selection of free music set to specific beats per minute that really helps you maintain a set pace. You can find them on the Apple app store. When I review my walk/run history on my Walkmeter app, I see my pace was all over the place before I started using listening to Podrunner…

^ ^ ^ This! I like to unwind on some twisty country back road on my Harley. And of course, er... *kitten*.

I found the Restaurants Points Calculator app at the iPhone app store. It lists the calories, total and saturated fat, fiber, protein, carbs and sodium for each menu item for 250 chain restaurants. It was $1.99 at the app store and I found it to be very helpful.

If a man says something deep in the woods where no one can hear him, is he still wrong?

Still eagerly awaiting something resembling hard data to prove the effectiveness of this theory. The OP keeps talking about how well it is working in Denmark. Another member from Denmark says they don't have that law there. This is what I mean when I say the OP's supporting arguments are remarkable fact-free. Yes the OP is…

@ninerbuff - I said your theory is emotion-based. This is a feel good solution and is remarkably fact-free so far. Did it reduce overall speeding? Maybe. You say it did and I'll even concede that as a possibility. Did it significantly reduce accidents caused by wealthy people that were also speeding? If it did, the data…

Wow! Then let's just take every element of danger out of our environment. That's where this is headed. Nanny staters like yourself are never satisfied. Here's an idea you will love - Let's punish the responsible people by confiscating possessions and outlawing activities that are sometimes abused by irresponsible people.…

Seriously dude! Move to Norway, Finland, Denmark or wherever the laws are to your liking. There are no guarantees in life. There are risks in everything we do. Accidents do happen. As a kid, I rode a bicycle without a helmet, drank from a garden hose, rode in the back of pickup trucks and my first car didn't even have seat…

I was getting pretty bummed reading all the "let's soak the rich" responses to this topic and wondering when the people with a clue would show up. I'm glad I stuck it out to the end. Thanks travisseger, StarvingDiva, RushBabe214, fiveohmike & tquig! You didn't disappoint. I have a novel idea - Why don't we concern…

Welcome aboard! Let me know how Insanity works out for you. I am considering it myself. I also want to continue with weights at the gym, but am not sure if I'll have anything left after an Insanity workout. I started out almost 230 and am down to 197 after 4 months. My target weight is 155 to 160. Feel free to add me as a…

@jaygregz - I threw up in my mouth a little.

I get up early in the morning and do a 5 mile fast walk most mornings. I weigh myself without clothes when I get back from the walk and after a bathroom stop, before I eat anything or drink a lot of water. I do it the same way each time for consistency.

Are you eating enough to maintain the amount of exercise you are doing? Some people are trying to do a lot of exercise and eating only 1200 or less calories a day, leaving them with a net 500 or 600 calories a day. That is not sustainable for a long period of time. If you are comfortable with it and want feedback from…

I am in shape. (Round is a shape.) and This damn made in China scale is worthless. The weight is always wrong.

Already done! Speed walked/ran 5 miles this morning. Heading to the gym after work to hit the weights. Thanks for posting the challenge!

@historygirldd - Thank you! Great post. This is obviously a controversial topic. Pro-gunners are not likely to convert anti- gunners and vice versa. In some cases in this thread, people are trying to reason with others who are clearly not reasonable. How well is that working? Don't feed the trolls. Why don't we just agree…

I really dislike looking at the discarded water/energy drink bottles and energy bar wrappers lining the sides of an otherwise beautiful running trail that some runners/walkers/cyclists just couldn't hang onto until they found a trash can. That really pi$$es me off.
